Race 4 | Sister Cities Cup Here 27/9 Sprint - C4/5 - 318 | A combination of KING'S CONQUEST running outwards and SWINGING ZORRO running inwards soon after the jump caused tightening to WINSOME JESS who lost ground. She finished well for fifth. KING'S CONQUEST was handy until the home bend when he faltered and dropped back through the field. SWINGING ZORRO lost some momentum when having to change ground to get around KING'S CONQUEST. A post race veterinary check of KING'S CONQUEST revealed a broken hock with the dog being euthanased on humane grounds. |
Race 5 | $30,000 Pick6 Stakes - C1/2 - 527 | MADDER THAN was slow from the inside settling well back but recovered well to win impressively. Into the first bend FANCY GIRL crossed sharply to the rail with SHARMANS MAGIC checking outwards abruptly as result. A post race veterinary check revealed torn muscles and severe bruising and he will be xrayed later today for possible fractures. A sixty day stand down was imposed. Dr Hessell is to be congratulated on her quick thinking and actions in this incident. No head on view was available due to technical problems |
Race 7 | Jack's Wholesale Meats Stakes - C1 - 527 | DAPPER and CARMIA MATANNA were both slow to jump. SPINNING COMET was tightened into the first bend and ran out checking YOU CASANOVA and DAPPER.
