Incident Reports
Race Number | Race Name | Incident Report |
---|---|---|
Race 1 | ALLIED WORK FORCE 0800 LABOUR - C2 - 305 | CAWBOURNE MELODY moved in racing to the first corner and caused checks to the favourite BIGTIME SLAMMER and BIGTIME DORA who both lost ground and all chance of a placing. BIGTIME SLAMMER moved in on the home turn and checked MAD DECISION who lost ground and she finished in last place. |
Race 2 | BILDERBECK CONSTRUCTION - C1 - 520 | DARK ICE jumped best of all and led running to the first corner but eased for a stride at the winning post with a circuit to run and was galloped on by CYCLONE TRAVIS and drifted back through the field to finish several lengths last. LISA SHIRAZ and ACCUSER were also affected in the incident and both lost ground. The Stewards were of the opinion that DARK ICE probably shied at the winning post when she eased for a stride. DARK ICE was examined by the Vet and stood down for 5 days with pain in the thigh muscles in the left hind leg. |
Race 3 | BROAD ROOFING SERVICES - C2 - 305 | This race was started 1 minute late when a replacement muzzle was required for one of the runners. LEFT JAB checked over the heels of CRYSTAL SAL on the first corner and lost ground. Soon after, BRASS KNUCKLES checked out over the heels of the leader GOOGLE MAGOO but was quickly back into stride and went on to win the race. |
Race 4 | WANGANUI SECURITY SERVICES - C1/2 - 520 | HOMEBUSH NICK moved in soon after the start and checked CHILLI NICK who fell and RAGING CONQUEST who lost ground and dropped out to last. CHILLI NICK regained its feet and chased the field but then jumped the rail and ran across the inside of the track towards the field. The lure driver sped the lure up momentarily and CHILLI NICK turned to chase it before attempting to jump back onto the track. The Stewards were of the opinion that no runner was affected in the incident and authorized payment of dividends. CHILLI NICK was examined by the Vet and stood down for 7 days with general muscle soreness. LADY PEDRO was checked and pushed wide over extra ground on the first bend and stayed back to finish in 2nd last place. |
Race 5 | GUTHRIE BOWRON, WANGANUI - C3 - 305 | All clear. |
Race 6 | KEENAN CONCRETE SERVICES 6 PACK - C3 - 520 | SERIOUS CHARGE was checked back to last soon after the start as outside drawn runners moved across towards the rail but he recovered well to finish in 3rd place. CHIVAS REGAL checked off the heels of SMART SHARMILA on the first bend and was then cannoned into by CAWBOURNE FORCE and they both lost ground and stayed back to finish near the rear. |
Race 7 | WWW.WANGANUICARCENTRE.COM - C4 - 305 | CAPTAIN BOYCOTT and CAWBOURNE FELLA jostled together for several strides in the run to the first corner and lost momentum and CAWBOURNE FELLA eventually dropped back to last. He did make up some ground to finish in 5th place. CAPTAIN BOYCOTT and BIGTIME SCAR collided on the home turn and BIGTIME SCAR dropped back to finish in last place with CAPTAIN BOYCOTT in 6th place. |
Race 8 | VITA POWER - C5 - 520 | Complaints were received regarding the track condition from S.McInerney and J.Woolston Bell shortly before start time. The Stewards inspected the track in the home straight and were satisfied that it was safe to race on and the race was started slightly behind the advertised time. The race was all clear. |
Race 9 | CROMBIE LOCKWOOD (NZ) LTD - C5 - 305 | ALLEGRO VISION, who finished last at its previous start when well supported and was subjected to a Veterinary inspection on that occasion and cleared of injury, led throughout tonight and won the race. When questioned on the very much improved run, Trainer B.Cole stated that ALLEGRO VISION is generally not so happy racing in tight quarters as was the case in its last start, but on this occasion, the dog was away well from box 8 and always in the clear. The explanation was accepted. |
Race 10 | MEDIA WORKS - C4/5 - 305 | The winner SWIFT CONQUEST moved in on the first corner and checked WONGAWILLINEV who lost two lengths but then recovered to finish in 2nd place. THRILLING GRIT moved out approaching the straight entrance and forced CAWBOURNE DORE wide over extra ground and he finished in last place. |
