| Race 1 | ALLIED WORK FORCE 0800 LABOUR - C2 - 305 | CAWBOURNE OPAL was awkwardly placed on the first corner and made brushing contact with the rail losing a little ground but recovered to finish in 4th place. CHASIN' CROWS moved out over the heels of WHAT'S UP ADDIS on the first corner and forced BIGTIME SLAMMER and WINSOME DOLL wide over extra ground and they finished in the last two places with CHASIN' CROWS finishing in 6th place after also losing ground in the incident. |
| Race 2 | BILDERBECK CONSTRUCTION - C1/2 - 520 | THRILLING ACE was tightened between runners on the first corner and went back to last. He was again checked entering the back straight losing four lengths and he stayed back to finish in last place. |
| Race 3 | BROAD ROOFING SERVICES - C2 - 305 | The favourite BRASS KNUCKLES was the slowest to begin but then made up ground well to finish in 2nd place. GOOGLE MAGOO was handy to the first corner but was checked and lost several lengths on the bend and finished in 6th place. |
| Race 4 | NEW WORLD WANGANUI - C2/3 - 305 | WHATA BOWLA, BACK DRAUGHT, HEIST and ANOTHER NICK were the last four going into the first corner and they jostled together on the bend losing ground and going wide and they stayed back to finish in the last four places. |
| Race 5 | WANGANUI GAS SOCIAL CLUB - C3 - 520 | LAGOON FIFI moved in soon after the start and caused checks to CATCHING ON and VIVALDI ROAD who both lost ground. VIVALDI ROAD recovered to finish in 2nd place but CATCHING ON was checked again entering the back straight and he finished last. |
| Race 6 | KEENAN CONCRETE 6 PACK - C2/3 - 305 | BIGTIME SCAR moved in soon after the start and tightened RED TERROR, COLERIDGE ANDIE, GO BEN GO and DARK SAGE with COLERIDGE ANDIE and GO BEN GO being checked back to the rear. GO BEN GO then appeared to suffer an injury on the bend and dropped out to finish a long last and was examined by the Vet and stood down for 42 days with a metacarpal bone fracture. |
| Race 7 | WWW.WANGANUICARCENTRE.COM - C4 - 305 | SUPERIOR BLACK who had not started for one month was up 2.6 kilograms from her last start weight and the Trainer stated this was by design and this was accepted by the stewards. GUNNADOO KNIGHT drew box 8 and soon after the start he moved inwards and this caused inconvenience to all other runners with the most affected being HAILSTONE HARLY and SUPERIOR BLACK who were racing closest to the rail. They were eventually checked losing several lengths and they tailed the field from there to the finish. |
| Race 8 | VITA POWER - C4/5 - 520 | ANDY D'GANDY and CAWBOURNE ACE collided in the run to the first corner and both lost ground and settled near the rear. ANDY D'GANDY then recovered to finish very well and win while CAWBOURNE ACE stayed back and finished in last place. |
| Race 9 | CROMBIE LOCKWOOD (NZ) LTD - C4/5 - 305 | One of the better supported runners ALLEGRO VISION was handy to the first corner but gradually drifted from there and finished in last place. She was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury. |
| Race 10 | MEDIA WORKS - C4/5 - 305 | WONGAWILLINEV and LITTLE LADY BLUE were checked soon after the start and settled at the rear. WONGAWILLINEV and RUN JAKE RUN bumped together on the first corner and both lost ground. CHINESE GIRL was handy into the bend but was checked and dropped back through the field and was checked again on the home turn and finished in last place. |
