STARING CHARLIE who was having its first race day start, jumped on terms with the other runners but then dropped back to last and stayed there to the finish. The Stewards were a little concerned with the dogs committment to the chase but the benefit of some doubt was given due to STARING CHARLIE'S inexperience. A Vets inspection was ordered as a precaution and a 7 day stand down was imposed due to a shoulder injury.

THRILLING NERO, MADE IN ENZED and COERCION were slow to begin and they stayed back to finish in the last three places. COERCION was observed to falter on the first corner and did not appear to be striding out correctly from there to the finish and was clearly sore after the race.
