Track: Good The track was in good condition despite awful weather throughout the night. The 457 starts were all manual due to a power problem. Credit must be given to all handlers and officials who performed with professionalism in very trying conditions.
Scales: Correct
Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: Racing Manager Mr R Death was fined $150.00 after admitting a breach of Rule 88.1.q as a result of omitting to scratch DAPPER from Race 2 prior to the scratching time of 7.30 am.

Race 1 Welcome To Cambridge Raceway Sprint - C1 - 375 THRILLING CUBA was checked as CAPTAIN CARLOS crossed him into the bend. He recovered well to finish second. On the home turn CAPTAIN CARLOS ran outwards slightly tightening PRINCESS WHALE and MIGHTY BIG SAM. BROTHER BADGER was held up in behind these runners finishing well when clear for fifth.
Race 2 Tamahere Stakes - C1 - 457 All clear.
Race 3 Tauwhare Sprint - C2 - 375 THRILLING CATCH was awkwardly away from the outside box running on well to dead heat for fourth.
Race 4 Protector Safety Stakes - C2/3 - 457 In a roughly run race CAWBOURNE FORCE firstly ran inwards checking CAWBOURNE SERENE in the early stages then into the bend was keen to get out and checked VIVALDI ROAD on its outer. BULLISH MEGASTAR was badly checked at this stage dropping to the rear before running on again for fifth. PAYNEFUL TRUTH was also inconvenienced at this point. On the home turn CAWBOURNE SERENE checked off the heels of PAYNEFUL TRUTH losing ground.
Race 5 Superior Chunky Dog Rolls Dash - C3 - 375 TERROR JIM was checked as STREET TALL crossed quickly to the rail into the bend. TERROR JIM hit the running rail at this stage but battled well for its second placing. A post race veterinary check of TERROR JIM revealed no injury. Soon after this incident MOHICAN HARRY and DEVILS MARBELS lost ground as a result. On the home turn DEVILS MARBELS and KERRIE'S FANTASY came together losing ground. The lure driver experienced difficulties with vision during this race due to torrential rain on her window. As a result the lure at times was a bit further in front of the field than normal. However after watching the replay the Stewards were satisfied that no runner appeared to be substantially disadvantaged and authorised payout.
Race 6 Raglan Sprint - C5 - 375 CAWBOURNE RAY was very slow to jump settling last. On the home turn the leader NATIONAL DEBT ran wide losing some ground but once straightened went to the line well to win.
Race 7 Interislander Dash - C4 - 375 CAWBOURNE CROWN was last away but made ground well for third. CAWBOURNE BESS ran wide on the bend and lost ground. ZENSU dropped to the rear before the bend and was never in contention remaining last. A post race veterinary check revealed no injury.
Race 8 TAB Pump & Automotive Stakes - C5 - 457 SARAH"S POWER attempted to jump the rail after thirty metres and fell to the inside of the track. A post race veterinary check revealed a compound fracture of the left front radius and ulna with an eighty day stand down recommended. The connections advised that the dog would immediately be taken to a veterinary surgeon with the hope that she can be saved for breeding. At the end of the back straight RASMAH eased out of the race and failed to complete the course. A post race veterinary check revealed no injury. RASMAH was stood down for 28 days under Rule 80.1.b. and must undertake a satisfactory trial.
Race 9 Raceway Sprint - C5 - 375 CAWBOURNE ACE was slow to jump. Into the bend ZAMBORA MAN was badly tightened in between runners and dropped to the rear where he stayed.
Race 10 Racing Again Next Thursday at Noon - C4 - 457 On the home turn CAWBOURNE BELLE was clipped from behind by kennelmate AWESOME VOYAGE who checked sharply outwards resulting in these two dogs both losing ground and their chances.
