Judicial report: Weather: Overcast Owner trainer LH ANDERTON was fined $100.00 for a breach of Rule 69.11 as a result of BERT BADGER a starter in Race 1 weighing in 1.7kgs above his last race start weight.
Owner trainer RM McKENZIE was fined $100.00 for a breach of Rule 69.11 as a result of HUGO FIRST a starter in Race 2 weighing in 2.3kgs above his last race start weight.
Trainer DE STAPLETON was fined $100.00 for a breach of Rule 69.11 as a result of HORSE POWER a starter in Race 14 weighing in 1.7kgs under his last race start weight.
A charge under Rule 69.11 against trainer GA CLEEVE and his dog KNOW GLORY was opened and adjourned until 9 July 2009.

Race 1 ADVANCE PET NUTRITION DASH - C1 - 295 BERT BADGER was slow to jump from the inside box. Into the bend DANCE FOR DANNY was dragged down as he crossed to the rail in front of THRILLING RILEY who was then forced outwards. BERT BADGER moved wide to avoid DANCE FOR DANNY tightening THRILLING RILEY who fell with WILLY'S PRIDE scrambling over the fallen dog. Both dogs finished the event and were subject to veterinary checks which revealed no injury.
Race 2 CHALLENGE OPAWA ALL UP SPRINT - C1 - 295 Into the bend LEO'S BOY struck the heels of LIAM TITLE checking outwards and cannoning into HUGO FIRST who was turned sideways and falling. A veterinary check revealed HUGO FIRST to have ruptured his right collateral stifle ligament and he was subsequently euthanased. HUGO FIRST (RM McKenzie) ruptured collateral ligament. Rule 82.1. Euthanased.
Race 3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALYSON ROSANOWSKI STAKES - C1 - 520 BILLYBOB RAY was slow to jump. Into the first bend SKY VANE moved away from the rail tightening WHO'S SHIFTY and TONY CAN'T GO. GINA ROSA (DL Roberts) left fibula pain. Dog presented. veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 14 days up to and including 19 July 2009. GEMMA'S COUNTRY (GJ Hodson) starter in Race 12.
Race 4 WWW.DUVAUCHELLEHOTELMOTEL.CO.NZ DASH - C1 - 295 HOMEBUSH JOCK was tightened by an improving WATTLE YOU BEE into the bend losing ground.
Race 5 FLAIR STAKES - C0q - 520 Heat 1 All clear.
Race 6 FLAIR STAKES - C0q - 520 Heat 1 WHAT JUSTICE lost all chance at the start when slow to jump. Into the first bend SECRET CHLOE crossed THAT'S SARAH who was checked and came in contact with KILKENNY. Soon after PRETTY SECRET and THAT'S SARAH came together with THAT'S SARAH being forced out onto KILKENNY.
Race 7 DAVE ROBBIE PHOTOGRAPHER DASH - C0 - 295 STICK'S TOO brushed the rail into the bend losing ground. A veterinary check revealed nothing amiss. ANOTHER GROOVY (JT McInerney) gastro enteritis. Veterinary certificate suplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 15 July 2009.
Race 8 SHIRLEY VETERINARY CENTRE SPRINT - C0 - 295 TWIRLY BERLY ran sharply inwards towards the rail on jumping from midfield. TUKURUA TITLE drifted to the rear after the jump. Into the bend the other seven dogs came together all being checked with the exception of SHAZZ'S SAINT who skipped along the rail to be left a clear leader. Into the home straight ROYAL ADONIS and TWIRLY BERLY came together and soon after COOL'S THE TUNE ran outwards colliding with TUKURUA COLT.
Race 9 FLAIR STAKES - C0q - 520 Heat 1 DIARACK and WILLY JUNIOR came together after the jump with WILLY JUNIOR drifting out to finish a long last. A post race veterinary check revealed a right hock sprain with a 21 day stand down recommended. METROPOL (JT McInerney) was a late scratching at kennelling when found with an inflammed left fore 4th toe. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 68.26. 10 days up to and including 16 July 2009. WILLY JUNIOR (DE Stapleton) right hock sprain. Rule 82.1. 21 days up to and including 27 July 2009.
Race 10 KOLORFUL KANVAS SPRINT - C1 - 295 FROSTY EQUATOR tightened AVANZATA down into the path of AILIE BALE into the bend these two dogs losing ground.
Race 11 TUESDAY PLACE PICK DASH - C1 - 295 PLAIN ARIAL, BY GORRIE DORRIE, BARBER'S GIRL and CAWBOURNE HANDS were checked into the bend losing ground. BURN DOWN ROAD (Hart/Taylor) stood down at Ashburton on 5 July 2009. Rule 82.1. 10 days up to and including 14 July 2009.
Race 12 ADDINGTON EVENTS CENTRE STAKES - C1 - 520 TIPPY TIPSTAR and JESS' CLASS were slow to jump. GEMMA'S COUNTRY was tightened by JOHNNY DUNNIT into the first bend. TIGER BALM (C Mitchell) late scratching at Ashburton on 5 July 2009. Rule 68.26. 7 days up to and including 11 July 2009. COVER PAGE (RD Blackburn) scratched at Ashburton on 5 July 2009. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 10 July 2009.
Race 13 CLARKSON SIGN STUDIO SPRINT - C1 - 295 GLENMORE LASS was galloped on by HAMBURGER around the bend both losing all chance. GLENMORE LASS was suject to a veterinary check which revealed muscle pain to the left tfl with a 7 day stand down recommended. GLENMORE LASS (G Kingston) muscle pain left tfl. Rule 82.1. 7 days up to and including 13 July 2009.
Race 14 WWW.WILLYWHATATSTUD.COM DASH - C2 - 295 HORSE POWER was slow to jump. Into the bend HORSE POWER and OLD MATE BOB came together. Soon after MONTIVIDEO was tightened by ANOTHER NICK.
Race 15 $25,000 PICK 6 - C1 - 520 WHAT A MATE was slow to jump. Into the bend TWO TICK JESSIE was tightened by GUNNA SMOKE. Soon after KNOW TELLING crossed TRENDY GUY who checked out and collided with WHAT A MATE who fell. He regained his feet to finish the race and a veterinary check revealed no injury. GENISTA SUMMER (JE Dunn) right gastrocnemius strain. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 14 days up to and including 19 July 2009.
Race 16 GARRARD'S HORSE AND HOUND STAKES - C1 - 520 ROBITTY BOB checked out off FIRM OFFER into the back straight when racing towards the rear.
Race 17 BARRON'S SUPPLIES DASH - C2 - 295 HOMEBUSH LENNY was checked into the bend coming back on MUNGO. Soon after KNOW GLORY and KNOW FAITH came together. SUNSET BOMBER (J&D Fahey) coughing and temperature. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 16 July 2009.
Race 18 WWW.CANTERBURYPROPERTY.CO.NZ STAKES - C1/2 - 520 OFF THE RAILS, DON THE HOP and BOTANY JIM came together a number of times around the first bend and into the back straight when racing at the rear.
Race 19 SPEIGHTS SIX PACK - C3 - 520 All clear.
Race 20 BE BACK THURSDAY NIGHT SPRINT - C3 - 295 CALL ME missed the start by five lengths. BETTY BEATZER and ANOTHER KERRY came together into the bend. Soon after POWER SAW checked out off FIVE ACROSS colliding with SCARLET EMPRESS with both ROCKY POCKETS and CALL ME being forced wide.
