YOU CASANOVA began best of all but was galloped on by THRILLING FELIX and went back through the field. IRISH ENFORCER collided with YOU CASANOVA as that runner came back and they both lost ground and finished in the last two places. Race 2 | SPORTS LODGE MOTEL, WANGANUI - C1 - 375 | CASANRA BALE was down 2.1 kilograms from the last start weight which was 3 months ago. When questioned, S.McInerney stated the decrease was by design as he was not happy with the dogs previous runs at the higher weight. CASANRA BALE showed improvement on previous runs to finish in 4th place. General tightening on the first corner resulted in checks to ICE BALL, LOCHINVAR PRINCE, RAT INDEED and THRILLING RANGER and they lost several lengths and finished in the last four places. |
Race 3 | DELTA DRAINAGE & WATER SERVICES - C4 - 375 | COMMANDER LEE began awkwardly losing three lengths and he stayed well back and finished last. HAILSTONE HARLY J.T.McInerney Rule 68 A late scratching due to suffering from a hock injury and stood down for 7 days to and including 05.07.09. |
Race 4 | MANAWATU SOUND SERVICE - C4 - 457 | SHE'S TOO COOL and YOUNG VALIANT jostled together for several strides in the run to the first corner and SHE'S TOO COOL was eventually checked losing four lengths and she finished in last place. Race 5 | BILL BOYD & ASSOCIATES - C5 - 375 | LOONEY LEE ran into the back of BLACK TIE on the first corner and then moved out and forced CAWBOURNE ACE and FLASH ENFORCER over extra ground and they finished in the last three places. BLACK TIE also lost ground in the incident but recovered to finish in 3rd place. CAWBOURNE ACE was checked again on the home turn losing further ground. LOONEY LEE suffered from a pectoral muscle injury and was stood down for 10 days. Race 6 | OUTBACK TRADING COMPANY LTD - C4/5 - 457 | FANCY MEL was handy to the lead in the run to the first corner but was checked and went back through the field with resultant interferance to TRIAL BAY. PINK RELTUB moved out on the home turn and collided with FANCY MEL and they both lost ground and finished in the last two places. |
Race 7 | GRANT IRVINE PHARMACY NZ BRED M/D - R/A - 457 | THRILLING ALI was 1.4 kilograms down on its last start weight which was two weeks previous. When questioned S.Gommans stated that the dog was a recent addition to her team and had been feeling the effects of the recent very cold weather but was fit to run. This view was shared and confirmed by the Vet and was also confirmed by the performance of THRILLING ALI who won the race. NELLY JEAN clipped a heel soon after the start and almost fell losing several lengths and she never recovered and finished in last place. TAILS OFF was in 3rd place approaching the home turn but then appeared to make contact with the rail losing ground and he finished in 5th place. Race 8 | PETER SINCLAIR PHOTOS - C1 - 457 | All clear. CAWBOURNE SERENE J.T.McInerney Rule 64 Suffering from a hock injury and stood down for 10 days to and including 08.07.09. |
Race 9 | RADIO TRACKSIDE 828AM MANAWATU - C3 - 375 | CONTAGEN checked off the heels of CAWBOURNE CROWN and lost ground on the first corner and he never recovered and finished in 2nd last place. GONE WILD jumped on terms with the other runners but brushed with FIND PEDRO soon after and drifted back to the rear and stayed there to the finish. |
Race 10 | BURLACE & PAIN, PANELBEATERS - C2 - 375 | MISS TORI was a little slow to begin and then galloped on the heels of THRILLING SKITZ and both lost ground and they stayed back to finish in the last two places. |
