Judicial report: Weather: Fine At the Manawatu Greyhound Clubs meeting on 25.05.09, two greyhounds entered for race 2, started wearing the wrong numbered rugs but from the correct boxes by the dogs names. The dogs finished in last and 2nd last places but as a result, charges under Rule 88.1 o (negligence )were preferred against Trainer S.Hayden Holmes, Head Kennel Steward M.McCourt and Starter S.Gardner. All three Ladies elected to admit a breach of the Rule and they were fined $ 100-00 each.

Race 1 DECOART PRINTED PRODUCTS, LEVIN - C0 - 457 RURAL LADY and THRILLING FELIX bumped together at the start and lost ground. RURAL LADY recovered to run on well for 2nd place. THRILLING FELIX was then checked twice on the bend and he never recovered and finished in 2nd last place.
Race 2 OROUA DOWNS TANNERY - C1 - 457 OHAU WILLEE was handy to the first corner but was checked losing two lengths. He then finished on for 4th place.
Race 3 SPORTS LODGE MOTEL, WANGANUI - C1 - 375 The race started two minutes late due to the late arrival of the field to the start. This was due to kennel staff being required to handle late kennelling and also get the field out at the same time. The Club will address this matter forthwith. The favourite MISS BRUGGE began awkwardly and then checked over the heels of SPURWAY and lost ground. MISS BRUGGE was then forced to race wide on the bend and finished in 4th place. HOMEBUSH JAZZ Udy & McCracken Rule 64 Suffering from a toe injury and stood down for 7 days to and including 20.06.09.
Race 4 KERB & CONCRETE FINAL - C1f - 457 BOLTS BOLTED moved in on the first corner and caused tightening and checks to several runners and resulted in THRILLING WAG and BOLTS BOLTED falling and RAGING CONQUEST, CAWBOURNE SPEED and MACAU being badly checked and losing all chance. The dogs which fell were examined by the Vet and cleared of injury. RAGING CONQUEST was also checked and stood down for 7 days with shoulder bruising. RAGING CONQUEST Freeman & Turnwald Rule 82 Checked and suffered shoulder bruising and stood down for 7 days to and including 21.06.09.
Race 5 GRANT IRVINE PHARMACY SPRINT - C5 - 375 TIGGERLONG FURY ran in from the start and jostled with HUTT PARK FLYER and KING'S CONQUEST for several strides and they settled at the rear losing all chance of a placing.
Race 6 OUTBACK TRADING COMPANY LTD - C5 - 457 FANCY SHELLY brushed with SHE'S TOO COOL in the back straight and went completely off stride and eventually finished several lengths last. She was examined by the Vet and stood down for 14 days with quadricep injuries in both hind legs. FANCY SHELLY D.Schofield Rule 82 Suffering from injuries to both quadriceps and stood down for 14 days to and including 28.06.09.
Race 7 DELTA DRAINAGE & WATER SERVICES - C4 - 375 ADDIS SUNSET moved in racing to the first corner and put pressure on LOONEY LEE for several strides until she eventually checked and went back to last and stayed there to the finish. ADDIS SUNSET suffered a tricep injury in the incident and was stood down for 14 days. ADDIS SUNSET B.Goldsack Rule 82 Checked from behind and suffered a tricep injury and stood down for 14 days to and including 28.06.09.
Race 8 PETER SINCLAIR PHOTOS - C2 - 375 FORGET NOT and CRYSTAL VIRUS were handy to the first corner but were checked back to the rear and they stayed there to the finish. DEL TONES B.Melville Rule 64 Suffering from a gracilus muscle injury and stood down for 28 days to and including 09.07.09. GENISTA SPIRIT N.Clark Rule 64 Suffering from enteritis and stood down for 4 days to and including 17.06.09.
Race 9 RADIO TRACKSIDE 828AM MANAWATU - C3 - 375 The favourite FIND PEDRO collided with CRYSTAL SAL when jumping from the boxes and settled at the rear. He then checked over the heels of CRYSTAL SAL on the first corner but recovered to finish well for 3rd placing. TALENT CITY D.Stapleton Rule 64 Suffering from a dew claw injury and stood down for 7 days to and including 20.06.09. CAB DRIVER D.Symes Rule 63.10 Scratched under the 100 kilometre rule.
Race 10 BILL BOYD & ASSOCIATES - C3 - 457 BULLISH MEGASTAR was slow to begin and then raced wide on the track but finished very well for 2nd place. LAGOON LAD J.T.McInerney Rule 64 Suffering from a leg muscle sprain and stood down for 10 days to and including 23.06.09.
