Judicial report: Weather: Fine P.W.Cleaver the Trainer of LEFT CAMBER was fined $ 100-00 under Rule 69.11 when presenting the dog 2.4 kilograms over its last race day weight. When questioned Mr Cleaver stated that the increase in weight was by design as he was not happy with the dogs performances at the lower weights and this was accepted.
Trainer M.Mann was questioned regarding the fact that FLYING WHALE was presented 2.3 kilograms under its last start weight on 15.03.09. Mrs Mann stated that it had been intended to race the dog down from the previous weight but that it was lower than planned due to not travelling as well as expected and this was accepted.
Disqualified Trainer Mr S.Mann was observed to be on Racecourse property and was latter spoken to by a Steward and this matter will be reported to the N.Z.G.R.A under separate cover.

Race 1 ALLIED WORK FORCE 0800 LABOUR - C0q - 305 Heat 1 FLYBY KAHN and BIGTIME SLAMMER were slow to begin losing four lengths. BIGTIME SLAMMER recovered to finish well for 3rd place but FLYBY KAHN stayed back and finished in 2nd last place. THRILLING BRUNO moved out and LEFT CAMBER moved in on the first corner and this resulted in KNIGHT INVADER being checked back to the rear and he stayed back to finish last. Soon after that incident, THRILLING BRUNO galloped on the heels of LEFT CAMBER and lost ground which he was not able to make up and he finished in 5th place.
Race 2 MORRIE GIBBONS SIGNS - C0q - 305 Heat 1 FLYBY EAGLE was slow to begin and then checked off the heels of MISTY VELVET on the first corner losing ground and they both ran wide on the bend over extra ground and finished well back. One of the favourites PRINCESS WHALE was away well but tended to race off the rail starting on the bend and checked over the heels of LAURIE'S BEST and soon after made contact with BIGTIME MISS and dropped back to finish in 2nd last place.
Race 3 MICKEYS SUPER LIQUOR - C0 - 520 THRILLING LEWIS and SANTO GOLD were slow to begin and lost three lengths. THRILLING LEWIS galloped on the heels of BIGTIME COWELL on the first corner and they both lost ground but they recovered to finish in 3rd and 2nd places respectively. ONSET Ex Waikato on 28.05.09. KAIAPOI FIRST I.Cox Rule 68 A late scratching when found to be dehydrated with weight loss and stood down for 5 days to and including 07.06.09.
Race 4 GARY ROSS DECORATOR - C0q - 305 Heat 1 COERCION was slow to begin losing three lengths. PETITE ROSE was jostled against the rail for several strides in the race to the first corner and was eventually checked back onto COERCION and they lost several lengths and finished in the last two places.
Race 5 GEON WELLINGTON - C0q - 305 Heat 1 SHOWTIME ADDIS and RUN BROADY RUN jostled for a few strides near the first corner and SHOWTIME ADDIS had to check over heels, ran wide over extra ground on the bend and finished in last place. HOMEBUSH CLARIE J.T.McInerney Rule 64 Suffering from dairrhoea and stood down for 5 days to and including 06.06.09.
Race 6 KEENAN CONCRETE 6 PACK - C1 - 520 One of the favourites MACAU was away well and handy until running down the back straight but faded from there to finish in last place and appeared not to see out the distance. WHAT WAYS HOME G & S Hayden Holmes Rule 64 A late scratching due to suffering from kennel cough and stood down for 14 days to and including 16.06.09.
Race 7 GUTHRIE BOWRON WANGANUI - C1 - 305 One of the favourites I'M A FOOL began awkwardly and collided with THRILLING LARK and lost ground. She then became badly placed inside runners in the race to the first corner, was checked back to last and stayed there to the finish.
Race 8 WWW.WANGANUICARCENTRE.COM - C1 - 305 JILL and CAWBOURNE FELLA bumped together for a few strides soon after the start. CAWBOURNE FELLA was then checked losing several lengths on the first corner and stayed back to finish in 2nd last place. HAGLER moved out approaching the straight entrance and forced JILL and HOMEBUSH JAZZ very wide into the straight over extra ground. JILL finished in last place and was examined by the Vet and stood down for 5 days with abrasions and bruising to the left hind leg. JILL M.J.Lozell Rule 82 Checked and suffered bruising and abrasions to a hind leg and stood down for 5 days to and including 07.06.09.
Race 9 BROAD ROOFING SERVICES - C1 - 305 JONNY MARCO was checked going into the bend and went back onto GEMMA SAGE who dropped out to last and stayed there to the finish.
Race 10 WANGANUI FARM SUPPLIES - C1 - 305 NEW BEGINNING was handy racing to the first corner but was checked and went back onto THRILLING AMY and TITAN PRINCE and they lost all chance and finished in the rear group.
