Judicial report: Weather: Overcast A shortage of Club jackets resulted in a couple of Handlers not being correctly attired.and the Wanganui Club needs to address this matter.

Race 1 CAROLS TAB - C2 - 305 FORGET NOT moved in on the first corner and checked BIGTIME COOL who fell and RED TERROR was unable to avoid the faller and also fell. FORGET NOT , COLERIDGE ANDIE and CRYSTAL SAL were also affected in the incident and they all lost ground. RED TERROR was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury but BIGTIME COOL was stood down for 14 days with a swollen wrist. BIGTIME COOL M.Goodwin Rule 82 Checked and fell and suffered from a wrist injury and stood down for 14 days to and including 14.06.09.
Race 2 RD1, STRATFORD - C2 - 520 VIVALDI ROAD was handy until the home straight but faded to finish in 5th place. VIVALDI ROAD appeared to walk a little short following the race and was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury.
Race 3 MT EGMONT - C3 - 305 One of the better supported runners LEFT JAB drew box 8 and raced wide throughout over extra ground and finished in 2nd last place.
Race 4 TARANAKI FARMERS - C2/3 - 520 As the field raced in to the first turn PAYNEFUL TRUTH came out off the rail sharply and caused checks to LAGOON FIFI, GOSS SAGE , NO DRAMA DON and CAPTAIN BRUCE who was the worst affected, being squeezed back to the rear and he galloped uncomfortably from there to finish some lengths behind the field , CAPTAIN BRUCE was sent for a Vet check and cleared of injury.
Race 5 NANCY COBAIN - C0d - 645 All clear. HOMEBUSH THOMAS J.T.McInerney Now deceased.
Race 6 IVAN FROST MEMORIAL - R/A - 520 UPAHUT SLAYER moved in on the first corner and caused checks to PURE FURY, ELLEBILLE ANGEL and SHE ROCKS who all lost several lengths and they stayed back to finish in the last three places. NELLY JEAN A & J Hall Rule 64 Suffering from an injury to the tensor fascia lata muscle and stood down for 10 days to and including 09.06.09.
Race 7 TARANAKI SPRINT - C5 - 305 ELITE BAXTER was checked and lost several lengths on the first corner and he never recovered and finished last.
Race 8 THE LOCAL HAWERA TARANAKI CUP - C5 - 520 PRIVATE PEDRO led until approaching the straight entrance but faded quickly to finish in last place. PRIVATE PEDRO was reported to have cramped but appeared to recover quickly. One of the favourites FANCY MEL was checked soon after the start and was last around the first bend. She did make up some ground without appearing likely to finish in a dividend position. PORCELAIN GIRL L.Ahern Rule 64 Suffering from heat and swelling in a front foot and stood down for 5 days to and including 05.06.09. PINK RELTUB Ex Waikato on 28.05.09
Race 9 DAIRYMASTER MILKING SYSTEMS - C5 - 305 All clear. FANCY EEL Ex Waikato on 28.05.09. WINSOME CHANCE Gained a start in race 8.
Race 10 PRESIDENTS DASH - C4 - 305 FLASHFIRE COAL ran in on the first corner and JUST LIKE BEE ran out and this resulted in checks to CAWBOURNE WHIZ and BIGTIME EXPRESS. Soon after FLASHFIRE COAL and JUST LIKE BEE bumped together and lost ground and any chance of a placing.
