Race 1	WELCOME TO CAMBRIDGE STAKES - C1 - 457	ALEIRON was the last to jump by four lengths. PICCADILLY LINE ran very wide around the last bend losing ground. She ran on well in the straight for third.
Race 2	MATANGI MAIDEN - C0 - 457	FAILED TO STOP and ROCK YOU were both slow to jump settling at the rear.
Race 3	TAMAHERE DASH - C1 - 375	BANG WALLOP, THRILLING GOLD and PSYCHOTIC were all tightened into the bend losing ground. In the run home THRILLING LEE and PSYCHOTIC came together with both dogs losing momentum. Approximately fifty metres from the post MEDIA MOGUL veered outwards and finished outside the confines of the greyhound track. The trainer reported that the dog was having its first start under lights and this may have contributed to its waywardness in the straight. A post race veterinary check of MEDIA MOGUL revealed no injury with the connections advised that the dog must complete a satisfactory trial under Rule 81.1. If possible this trial is to be conducted under the lights. MEDIA MOGUL (LJ Laagland) to undertake a satisfactory trial under Rule 81.1.
Race 4	SUPERIOR CHUNKY DOG ROLLS SPRINT - C4 - 375	HOMEBUSH HOUDINI ran inwards soon after the jump tightening ENSIGN, CONTAGEN, PRIVATE PEDRO and ANNIES BRAT with all of these dogs receiving checks. Into the turn THRILLING FORCE and HOMEBUSH HOUDINI came together while soon after PRIVATE PEDRO checked outwards when looking for racing room.
Race 5	TAUWHARE DASH - C1 - 375	HITMAN FRED was slow to jump. Into the bend WHAT SHIRAZ was dragged down from behind by THRILLING WEB with an improving HITMAN FRED checked as a result. WHAT SHIRAZ made ground well for fourth with a post race veterinary check revealing no injury.
Race 6	RAGLAN STAKES - C3 - 375	CYCLONE PRESTO was badly tightened into the bend and dropped to the rear.
Race 7	PROTECTOR SAFETY SIX PACK - C2 - 375	KINSALE LAD and ZACHARY SAME came together on the home turn when back in the field.
Race 8	RACEWAY SPRINT - C5 - 375	This race was delayed by five minutes due to the boxes failing to open by virtue of the electronic eye. The dogs were all backed out of the boxes and passed fit to race by the veterinarian. The rerun was hand started. The club advised that it is intended to run an underground cable at this starting point to alleviate the problems that have recently been experienced. CAWBOURNE JAMES lead into the bend until he faltered and dropped away. A post race veterinary check revealed a broken or disclocated hock with the dog being euthanased on humane grounds. WINSOME CRUISER was badly dragged down by BRIGHT CONQUEST on the bend with both dogs losing ground. A post race veterinary check of WINSOME CRUISER revealed torn skin over its right thigh that required sutures with a fourteen day stand down recommended. CAWBOURNE JAMES (LP & LC Joyce) broken and/or disclocated hock. Dog euthanased. WINSOME CRUISER (TA Green) torn skin over right thigh requiring sutures and spike wounds to lateral toe. Rule 82.1. 14 days up to and including 6 May 2009.
Race 9	INTERISLANDER STAKES - C3/4 - 457	THANK YOU JIM lead until the turn but ran wide and lost ground. He ran on again late for a closing fourth. KITTY'S THUNDER (HS Laagland) throat infection and treated with antibiotics. Rule 64.14. 28 days up to and including 19 May 2009.
Race 10	TAB PUMP & AUTOMOTIVE STAKES - C5 - 457	FANCY ALEX and TEE SHIRT were both slow to jump. Into the bend FANCY MEL checked outwards off the leaders heels and took the line of PADDY BOND and SHE ROCKS with these dogs losing ground. FANCY MEL made good ground in the straight for fourth.
