Judicial report: Weather: Fine Trainer DJ Parata received a final warning under Rule 66.2 after allowing a person to handle a dog while not having a licence. The stewards took into account his explanation that he had 3 dogs to care for after the race but he was reminded of his obligations under that Rule.
Trainer MP Mann was fined $100.00 after admitting a breach of Rule 68.26. when THRILLING CHASE weighed in at 35.1 kgs which was 1.6 kgs under his last race weight on 29 March 2009.

Race 1 WELCOME TO CAMBRIDGE RACEWAY - C0 - 457 MISTY VELVET was badly tightened soon after the jump and settled last. CAWBOURNE SNOWY, KARAMU THUNDER and FAILED TO STOP were all checked as MAMBO SAM angled to the rail into the bend with all of these dogs losing ground. CAWBOURNE SNOWY was badly dragged down as a result of this incident with a post race veterinary check revealing a tricep sprain with a five day stand down recommended. CAWBOURNE SNOWY (CJ Derecourt) right long head tricep sprain. Rule 82.1. 5 days up to and including 20 April 2009.
Race 2 TAUWHARE DASH - C1/2 - 375 LOONEY LEE and COINCIDE came together soon after the jump. Into the bend PARK RED checked outwards off runners forcing VALUE PACK wide around the bend with both dogs losing ground. BIGTIME DANCER (DL Annette) right tensor facia and right quadriceps sprain. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 23 April 2009.
Race 3 RAGLAN STAKES - C1 - 375 QUEEN LIZZY was checked into the bend and again into the home straight as BREATHLYSE ME attempted to get to the rails with both dogs dropping to the rear.
Race 4 TAMAHERE DASH - C3 - 375 This race was delayed by three minutes as the boxes had automatically tripped before the dogs were loaded. As a result the race was hand started as were Races 7 and 9. ZETA JONES was badly checked into the bend and lost its chance. A post race veterinary check revealed a triceps sprain with a five day stand down recommended. ZETA JONES (DJ Parata) right long head triceps sprain. Rule 82.1. 5 days up to and including 20 April 2009.
Race 5 INTERISLANDER STAKES - C1 - 457 RAGING CONQUEST was checked soon after the jump and again shortly after as THRILLING CHASE wanted out from the rails. CAWBOURNE BOTROS ran out on the turn checking SATSUMA for a few strides while on the home turn the leader PICCADILLY LINE ran wide on the home turn losing some lengths. She ran on well when balanced for second.
Race 6 GREYHOUNDS AS PETS - C2/3 - 457 WHATA BOWLA clipped the running rail into the bend and then ran outwards taking the line of FIND PEDRO, RASMAH and CAWBOURNE BELLE who all lost their chances. A post race veterinary check of WHATA BOWLA revealed no injury. WITCH JASPER (W Steele) mild tears to right triceps muscle. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 14 days up to and including 22 April 2009.
Race 7 SUPERIOR CHUNKY DOG ROLLS DASH - C3/4 - 375 THRILLING FORCE was tightened in the early stages checking YOUNG VALIANT in the process.
Race 8 PROTECTOR SAFETY STAKES - C4 - 457 PADDY BOND gradually worked to the inside from its outside box causing a domino effect on its inner with several runners receiving tightening most noticeably being the favourite SPRING ADMIRAL which dropped to the rear. Into the bend PADDY BOND continued to cross to the rail with KITTY'S THUNDER and EDDY'S GOAL receiving checks.
Race 9 RACEWAY SPRINT - C5 - 375 CAWBOURNE JAMES crossed the field from his outside draw into the bend causing severe checks to RUN OFF ME and AUSTIN who lost their chances. Shortly after this REWIRED got on the back of WINSOME SKY with both dogs losing ground. TOMMIE NATE (GE Harding) sprained long head triceps. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 20 April 2009. FANCY SPIDER (DD Schofield) was a late scratching at 8.15am when found to be lame in the right hind leg with tarsometalarsal pain. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 21 days up to and including 6 May 2009.
Race 10 TAB PUMP & AUTOMOTIVE STAKES - C4/5 - 457 All clear. BUZZ CAFE (SP Clark) right spinous head of deltoid sprain. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 24 April 2009.
