Judicial report: Weather: fine GOOD STUDENT collapsed and dropped dead at the finish of a hand slip trial ,the vet on course DR C Boyce could not determine the cause of death
The stewards have ordered that the dog undergo an autopsy on the dog under Rule 84 and the dog has been sent to Massey veterinary clinic to await an Autopsy
S Gommans was fined $100.00 under Rule 69.11 when presenting Thrilling Chief to race at 36.9 kgs - 2kgs over his last race weight of 34.9kgs on the 16.03.09
There were concerns throughout the meeting that the dogs were not getting around to the boxes on time for some races
It is a new problem due to the club introducing stirups and have moved the stirup area further down towards the track and this is not working well yet
The club have indicated that this will be rectified before the next meeting on the 20.04.09

Race 1	DECOART PRINTED PRODUCTS, LEVIN - C0 - 375	PURE FURY was slow away As the field raced in to the first turn ROUGH ENFORCER came out and shunted CARIBBEAN EBONY in to the path of THRILLING CHIEF causing this dog to lose his footing and fall THRILLING CHIEF recovered his feet and finished at the lure some distance behind the field ,he was sent for a vet check and no abnormalities were found
Race 2	WENHAM GRAIN & SEED FINAL - C0f - 457	Soon after the start PENIE'S FROM (fav)came across sharply and made contact with THRILLING TYSON PENIE'S FROM(fav) weakened halfway through the race and faded to finish in 2nd to last position at the line On the top THRILLING TYSON had to check off the heels of PENIE'S FROM as this dog was going backwards THRILLING RAY was subject to a vet examination after this race and was found to have suffered a split webbing on right front with a 10 days stand down given THRILLING RAY M Cuneo split webbing right front Rule 82.1.10 days stand down to and including15.04.09 CAWBOURNE SPEED J McInerney injury to right quadricepsps and right gracilis muscles Rule 82.1. 7 days stand down to and including 12.04.09
Race 3	FREEDOM PRINT & DESIGN HOUSE - C1 - 375	Soon after the start CHURCHILL came across as TUI THUNDER came out and these two dogs jostled for some distance heading in to the first turn Soon after leaving the boxes HEALING CRYSTAL came across looking to get to the rail and THRILLING LEE lost stride for a moment as she anticipated coming together with this dog JENNIMORE raced wide across the top and in to the home straight and this cost her a chance of finishing a lot closer than 5th at the line
Race 4	INTERISLANDER - C1 - 375	THRILLING TURN was very slow away from the boxes and raced around the field covering a lot of extra ground and ran a credible 5th at the line
Race 5	SPORTS LODGE MOTEL, WANGANUI - C1/2 - 375	Soon after the start ther was jostling between DEL TONES and HOMEBUSH JAZZ for a couple of strides as thay changed ground looking for racing room As the field made their way in to the first turn CRYSTAL SAL,DEL TONES and HOMEBUSH JAZZ all made contact and ran wide as they tangled for a few strides HAILSTONE HARLY J McInerney ex wanganui 3.04.09
Race 6	GEON WELLINGTON - C4 - 375	All clear WINSOME NOVA D Schofield ex wanganui 3.04.09 MUMMA DOONS J McInerney ex wanganui 3.04.09
Race 7	PORTER HIRE PALMERSTON NORTH - C5 - 375	DANDALOO BLUE was caught wide the whole journey and ran on for a courageous 2nd placing at the line
Race 8	OUTBACK TRADING COMPANY LTD - C3/4 - 457	All clear
Race 9	GAP, ADOPT A GREYHOUND - C3 - 375	WONGAWILLINEV (fav) was only fairly away and was forced to race wide early on ,however he did find the rail ,but only battled in the straight and finished in last positio nat the line WONGAWILLINEV was sent for a vet check where no abnormalities were found SMART SHARMILA Udy & McCraken ex wanganui 6.04.09
Race 10	MORRIE GIBBONS SIGNS - C1/2 - 457	CAWBOURNE SERENE was slow away ,she raced wide across the top and made up a lot of ground to run on strongly for 4th placing at the line
