Judicial report: Weather: Fine Trainer RH Adcock was warned for being slightly late for presentation prior to Race 1.

| Race 1 | DANNY O'KEEFFE MEMORIAL - C5 - 375 | Into the first bend BRIGHT CONQUEST ran in towards the rail tightening TOMMIE NATE on to SYDENHAM SMITH and RONRAY DISCO who hit the rail. She then bounced outwards severely checking ANNIES BRAT, KING'S CONQUEST and CAWBOURNE JAMES with this dog falling. Post race veterinary checks were carried out on RONRAY DISCO, ANNIES BRAT and KING'S CONQUEST with no injuries found. |
| Race 2 | PROTECTOR SAFETY SERIES FINAL - C1f - 457 | PIHA SUNSET ran wide soon after the jump keeping the favourite RASMAH wide on the track. Into the bend RAGING CONQUEST ran outwards tightening BROTHER BADGER and JULIE'S LADY who both lost ground. On the home turn JULIE'S LADY and PERSUASION came together when towards the rear. |
| Race 3 | FIRST SOVEREIGN TRUST NEW ZEALAND DERBY - R/Aq - 457 Heat 1 | SPY POWERS was awkwardly away settling at the rear. Into the bend WINSOME BUCKS got onto the back of FIND PEDRO with both dogs losing ground. |
| Race 4 | FIRST SOVEREIGN TRUST NEW ZEALAND DERBY - R/Aq - 457 Heat 1 | BENZENE was in tight quarters in the run to the bend and lost some ground. Shortly after BENZENE ran outwards tightening NITRO WIGGIE with KNOW LOVE also receiving a check. A post race veterinary check of NITRO WIGGIE revealed a bruised hock with a ten day stand down recommended. NITRO WIGIE (Hart/Taylor) subcutaneous haemorrage right hock. Rule 82.1. 10 days up to and including 11 April 2009. |
| Race 5 | T J MCDONALD CUP - C2dq - 747 Heat 1 | TEEGAN came together with WINSOME DOSH in the run down the straight for the first time. |
| Race 6 | FIRST SOVEREIGN TRUST NEW ZEALAND DERBY - R/Aq - 457 Heat 1 | SUDDEN SAM was tightened in the run down the back straight and came back on favourite WINSOME MERC and DARK FANCY with these dogs all losing ground. SUDDEN SAM recevered well to run third. |

| Race 9 | FIRST SOVEREIGN TRUST NEW ZEALAND DERBY - R/Aq - 457 Heat 1 | DAPPER was very slow from its inside draw. Just before the bend WINSOME FLYER checked and appeared to strike the running rail losing several lengths. A post race veterinary check revealed no injury. CAWBOURNE CROWN (Freeman/Turnwald) cut right front leg back of carpus. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 5 days up to and including 4 April 2009. |
| Race 10 | TAB PUMP & AUTOMOTIVE STAKES - C4/5 - 457 | WINSOME JUNIOR checked off the back of SUPREME BASH into the bend and lost ground. Into the bend TRENDY SON lost ground and dropped away to finish last. A post race veterinary check revealed no injury with trainer Mrs G Farrell advising that the dog would be having a short break from racing. |
