Judicial report: Weather: fine Trainer S Maher was spoken to and reminded that he must step back from the boxes once he has boxed his dog , his explanation was accepted this time after talking to the starter Mr M Beeson who had not told the handlers to move back for this race, he has been advised of the importance of this in the future

| Race 1 | ALLIED WORK FORCE 0800 LABOUR - C0q - 305 Heat 1 | Racing down to the first turn KING BOND had to check back off the heels of TEN BY FIFTY which cost him several lengths and these two dogs could not get back in to contention thereafter On pulling up to the lure TALKABOUT POPPY was noticed to be in discomfort and was taken to the vet and was found to have suffered fractured metatarcals on the right hind and was euthanaesed at the owner /trainers request TALKABOUT POPPY Udy & McCraken broken right hind metatarcals dog has been euthanased |
| Race 2 | MORRIE GIBBONS SIGNS - C0q - 305 Heat 1 | BLUE STRATA was slow away and couldn't get in to contention finishing in last position at the line ,he was observed to roll over the lure on pulling up and was checked over by the vet with no abnormalities found PRINCESS CHOLET raced wide across the top bend and rallied well for 3rd placing at the line |
| Race 3 | MICKEYS SUPER LIQUOR - C1 - 305 | Racing in to the first turn THRILLING TIM came out under the neck of HOT SPICEY BOY and this caused ALL ABOUT MILLY to be checked back and lose ground THRILLING TIM raced wide across the top bend and in to the home straight and rallied well for 3rd placing at the line BIGTIME EBONY B Cole in season dog not presented Rule 64.10.28 days stand down to and including 28.04.09 |
| Race 4 | GARY ROSS DECORATOR - C0q - 305 Heat 1 | KARAMU THUNDER and IRISH ENFORCER were slow away from the start KARAMU THUNDER gained an uninterrupted run through the field to run 2nd at the line On entering the first turn PERFECT CREEK came over and this caused PETITE ROSE to check back severley and ran out wide forcing IRISH ENFORCER to the outside and these two dogs could not get back in to contention from there on in The stewards reviewed the film of this race as at first it was considered that PETITE ROSE may have marred the running of IRISH ENFORCER however this was not found to be the case PETITE ROSE was sent for a vet check as a precaution and no abnormalities were found |
| Race 5 | GUTHRIE BOWRON WANGANUI - C1 - 305 | HOME BUSH EMMA and LORD OF WAR came together for a few strides soon after the start |
| Race 6 | KEENAN CONCRETE 6 PACK - C1q - 520 Heat 1 | BLAKES ANGEL (fav) was only fairly away from the boxes and was not able to get near the rail at any stage and was forced to cover ground through out the journey finishing in 6th position at the line |
| Race 7 | WWW.WANGANUICARCENTRE.COM - C2/3 - 305 | KATHLEEN BOY was slow away from the boxes and was able to cross closer to the rail and gain a run through the field to finish in 2nd position at the line Racing in to the first turn LITTLE LADY BLUE (fav) was checked back by BIGTIME WORLD and lost some lengths that she couldn't make ground thereafter and finished in last position at the line |

| Race 9 | BROAD ROOFING SERVICES - C1/2 - 305 | Soon after the start there was tightning btween the field as THRILLING JENNA came across on to BITTA ZIP as RANUI came outwards and this caused a chain reaction back through the field, the only dog that did not get inteferance in this incident was GROOVY SHOW Racing in to the first bend HOMEBUSH TERRA struck trouble when between dogs and went back through the field to the rear and stayed there thereafter BIGTIME ACTION S Drysdale tendon strain on right front dog presented vet cert supplied Rule 64.12.7 days stand down to and includng 3.04.09 |
