Judicial report: Weather: fine Handler W J (willie) Hodgson was given a written warning under Rule 88.1y for not having the approppriate footwear as per the clubs dress code
Trainer W T Hodgson made a complaint to the stewards after race seven concerning his perceived state of the track ,the stewards walked the track following race 8 and are of the opinion that the track was in a safe racing condition , there were no complaints from any other trainers on the night
The curator Mr Butlin was asked to run the mat around the track a couple of extra times between races to make sure a good surface was kept up, there were no problems however on the night
Handler W J (willie)Hodgson was fined $50.00 under Rule 71.2 for being late for presenting WINSOME NOVA from the kennels for race 10

Race 1 ALLIED WORK FORCE 0800 LABOUR - C2 - 305 GENISTA SPIRIT raced wide across the top bend which cost her to cover a lot of extra ground and she finished in last position at the line
Race 2 MICKEYS SUPER LIQUOR - C1 - 520 SERIOUS CHARGE (fav) stumbled as he left the boxes and lost a few lengths ,soon after racing in to the first turn he had to check back off the heels of KIWISAVER and lost more ground and only battled on thereafter to finish midfield SERIOUS CHARGE was sent for a vet check as a precaution where no abnormalities were found
Race 3 BILDERBECK CONSTRUCTION LTD - C3 - 305 Racing down to the first bend WONGAWILLINEVwas racing in tight quarters and caught the heels of SCISSOR SISTERS and went up in the air losing a few lengths which cost him valuable ground and told at the finish HOMEBUSH MATE J T Mcinerney right sesamoid pain on outside dog presented to vet at Addington vet cert supplied Rule 64.12.14 days stand down to and including 8.04.09
Race 4 CROMBIE LOCKWOOD (NZ) LTD - C1 - 520 Racing out of the straight the first time CAWBOURNE SNEAKY changed ground outwards suddenly and caused CHIVAS REGAL to move in and make contact with HOMEBUSH ELTON for a couple of strides On the top bend CAWBOURNE SNEAKY jumped in the air for a stride and lost momentum, after reviewing the tape the stewards and checking the track at that area could find nothing untoward on the track
Race 5 VITA POWER - C4 - 305 CHINESE GIRL (fav) didn't make her customary quick start and found it hard to make up ground and batttled in to 3rd placing at the line On the top bend CAWBOURNE ACE struck trouble as KATHLEEN BOY and MUMMA DOONS were making ground causing him to have to check back and he lost about seven lengths and beat one to the line HOMEBUSH AUSSIE 3rd (fav) got back on the first turn and went wide in to the straight and finished in last position at the line
Race 6 KEENAN CONCRETE 6 PACK - C2/3 - 520 As the field raced in to the first turn there was tightning and jostling in the midfield resulting in FANCY KATE checking back of heels and KID DELANEY and SARAH'S POWER came together for a couple of strides as they tried to gain racing room BEEJAY'S MATE J T Mcinerney ex Christchurch 26.03.09
Race 7 BROAD ROOFING SERVICES - C4 - 305 JAMES BEE(fav) got away well with the field for 30 metres and then was observed to go back to the rear and was uncomfortable in his action and finished a distance behind the field FYVIE BELLE and HOMEBUSH CASTOR came together brieflyon entering the first turn JAMES BEE was sent for a vet check where he was found to have suffered gracilis muscle injuries and a 28 days stand down was recommended JAMES BEE W T Hodgson injuries to gracilus muscles Rule 82.1.28 days stand down to and including 23.04.09
Race 8 WWW.WANGANUICARCENTRE.COM - C4 - 520 FATHER FIGURE was smartly away from the start and went over towards the rail and attempted to move in ,but was shouldered out of the way by FANCY EEL who carried on to win well As the field made their way across the top bend WINSOME DIGNITY came out underneath of BROCKMAN LAD , causing him to stumble and fall BROCKMAN LAD (fav) recovered his feet to finish some distance behind the field and was sent for a vet check and was found to have suffered muscle bruising with a 5 days stand down recommended BROCKMAN LAD B Cole muscle bruising Rule 82.1.5 days stand down to and including 31.03.09
Race 9 WANGANUI SECURITY SERVICES - C4/5 - 305 This race was put back one minute at the request of raceday control On racing in to the first turn SALLY'S BABE and WILL ZAM were forced to race wide as ELITEE BAXTER came out looking for clear racing room On the point of the home turn SALLY'S BABE was attempting to make ground and ran out very wide in avoiding the heels of ELITE BAXTER and lost all chance of figuring in the finishl
Race 10 MORRIE GIBBONS SIGNS - C4/5 - 305 Soon after the start there was jostling for a few strides between MONEY SHOT,WINSOME NOVA and FORWARD SOLUTION MONEY SHOT raced wide in to the first bend which cost him ground at that point
