While attempting to make ground around the home bend KNOW IN LEE was checked by DIRT TRAK COWBOY. GUINEAS GIRL (P.R.Scott) gained start in feature race. |
| Race 3 | ROBBIE'S BAR & BISTRO STAKES - C0 - 520 | Racing into the first bend TIME CATCHER ran out causing a check to HOMEBUSH THOMAS who lost a lot of ground as a result. Favourite DUDLEY RAMA ran very wide around the first bend but steadied again and moved closer to the rail down the back straight and rallied well to finish third. |

| Race 11 | TUESDAY PLACE PICK DASH - C2 - 295 | ANOTHER SAGE was checked on the first bend by OHOKA KERRY when racing near the lead. ANOTHER SAGE drifted back and checked BLACK INN BRAVE which lost all chance. MOJAVE MICK (C.Mitchell). Vomiting. Dog presented. Rule 64.12. 10 day stand down up to and including 18/3/09. | Race 12 | BARRONS SUPPLIES STAKES - C1 - 520 | Favourite REDBANK RUBY began well but drifted shortly after and failed to run on. A post race veterinary check was carried out on REDBANK RUBY which revealed pain in the left triceps resulting in a recommended 10 day stand down. WATMOUGH (J & D Fahey) ex Otago GRC 5/3/09. REDBANK RUBY (A.Hart & K.Taylor). Left triceps pain. Rule 82.1. 10 day stand down up to and including 19/3/09. |
| Race 13 | BILL'S BAR & BISTRO SPRINT - C1 - 295 | This race started almost 1 minute late with the delay coming about due to an Australian gallops race running late. THIS AND THAT attempted to clear the heels of NITRO PEGGY on the point of the first bend and checked CAWBOURNE RANCH which fell as a result. SUGAR MOUSE was also affected in this incident. A post race veterinary check was carried out on CAWBOURNE RANCH COLERIDGE KID (C. Mitchell). Vomiting. Dog presented. Rule 64.12. 7 day stand down up to and including 16/3/09. |
| Race 14 | CANTERBURY O.T.B ASSN STAKES - C1 - 520 | BIBI DAHL received a check at the winning post the first time and drifted back through the field. CLEEVE HILL ran out on the first bend and lost ground. |
| Race 15 | PICK 6 LEG 1 STAKES - C2/3 - 520 | KNOW SPIRIT appeared to falter on the final bend and a vet check was requested which revealed bruised left triceps with a recommended stand down of 10 days. There were extreme wind gusts during the running of this race with several dogs being inconvenienced as a result. Following the running of this event there was some concern about the wind and following discussions with trainers and track staff it was decided to monitor the situation for the remainder of the card. Track curator, Anne Jopson, expressed concern with regards to watering the track following requests from some trainers, however Ms Jopson was of the opinion that any attempt to water the track would not have the desired effect due to the high wind.
