Judicial report: Weather: Fine Mr W.J.Hodgson ( Willie ) was charged under Rule 88.1 f iv with using offensive language towards the Veterinary Surgeon Mr D.Barton at kennelling time. After hearing evidence the charge was proven and Mr Hodgson was fined $ 700-00.

Race 1	ALLIED WORK FORCE 0800 LABOUR - C1 - 305	All clear. LOONEY LEE D.Schofield Rule 68 A late scratching due to suffering from a bleeding and sore wart and stood down for 5 days to and including 03.03.09.
Race 2	MICKEYS SUPER LIQUOR - C1 - 305	ADDIS SUNSET began well and was in 2nd place on the bend when she appeared to make contact with FIGHT NIGHT and dipped and faltered and lost four lengths and she finished in 4th place. ADDIS SUNSET was examined by the Vet and stood down for 7 days with a shoulder muscle injury. ADDIS SUNSET B.Goldsack Rule 82 Checked and suffered a shoulder muscle injury and stood down for 7 days to and including 05.03.09.
Race 3	BILDERBECK CONSTRUCTION LTD - C1 - 520	DON THE HOP was slow to begin losing three lengths. ROTOVEGAS GIRL, THRILLING TIFF and FANCY KATE jostled together for several strides in the run to the first corner and they all lost ground. THRILLING TIFF was checked when attempting to improve on the rail on the last bend and she lost ground and finished in last place.
Race 4	CROMBIE LOCKWOOD (NZ) LTD - C3 - 305	The favourite AS FAST AS was only away from the start fairly and then raced onto the heels of FAST STASS on the first corner and lost ground but recovered to run 3rd. FAST STASS also checked at that point losing several lengths and SIMON was also checked as FAST STASS dropped back and they finished in the last two places WHATA BOWLA Freeman & Turnwald Rule 64 Suffering from stopper inflamation and stood down for 10 days to and including 06.03.09. BIGTIME WORLD L.Ahern Rule 68 A late scratching due to suffering from a dew claw injury and stood down for 5 days to and including 03.03.09.
Race 5	VITA POWER - C2 - 520	GROOVY SHOT dropped out to last early in the race and finished several lengths behind the 2nd last dog. GROOVY SHOT was examined by the Vet and stood down for 28 days with dew claw injuries. NICE CHOICE M.Goodwin Rule 68 A late scratching due to suffering from a tricep muscle injury and stood down for 7 days to and including 05.03.09. GROOVY SHOT M.Olden Rule 82 Suffered from dew claw injuries and stood down for 28 days to and including 26.03.09.
Race 6	NEW ZEALAND RACING SERIES DISTANCE #12 - C2d - 755	SHEA SHERIE was checked and lost ground on the first bend but recovered to win the race. TEEGAN was checked in the back straight but also recovered to finish in 3rd place. GOES SCIROCCO G & S Hayden Holmes Rule 64 Suffering from a deltoidus muscle injury and stood down for 5 days to and including 01.03.09.
Race 7	KEENAN CONCRETE - C3/4 - 305	SHARIMORE and MISSING BEEN jostled together for several strides going into the bend and they both lost ground.
Race 8	WWW.WANGANUICARCENTRE.COM - C4/5 - 520	MR SIMPLY, FIFI THE GENIUS and LAGOON FIFI were checked in the back straight losing ground and they finished in the last three places. WINSOME DIGNITY S.Maher Rule 64 Suffering from a quadricep sprain and stood down for 7 days to and including 04.03.09.
Race 9	WANGANUI SECURITY SERVICES - C5 - 305	PORCELAIN GIRL ran out from the start and checked SALLY'S BABE, HILLYS TIP and CAB DRIVER and they settled at the rear. DANDALOO BLUE moved out slightly on the first corner and caused checks to STAR CONQUEST, TWIST MIST, HILLYS TIP and CAWBOURNE STACEY. On the home turn SALLY'S BABE moved out sharply and checked DANDALOO BLUE and HILLYS TIP and this may have affected all three dogs chances of a closer placing.
Race 10	SEE YOU @ THE RED - C2 - 305	BIGTIME DORA was very slow to begin losing four lengths but she did make up ground to finish in 5th place. INDIA BLUE began awkwardly and lost ground but finished well for a close 2nd placing. BIGTIME COOL shared the lead on the bend but was checked when racing between runners and she went back onto CAWBOURNE FELLA and they both lost several lengths and finished in the rear group.
