Judicial report: Weather: Fine and sunny W CAIRNS, handler of KATHLEEN BOY (JT McInerney) was warned under Rule 110.5.a after the dog escaped from his care when being unloaded from the trailer.

Race 2 WWW.SOUTHLANDGREYHOUNDS.CO.NZ - C1 - 390 FANCY WAYS was slow to jump settling a clear last and never improving.
Race 3 ASCOT PARK HOTEL - C0 - 390 TEE ESS KAY and HOMEBUSH PERCY came together soon after the jump. Into the bend SLIGHTLY FOXED eased drifting out to finish last. Turning for home TEE ESS KAY ran wide losing ground. SLIGHTLY FOXED was subject to a veterinary check which revealed a nail bend inflammation of the right fore 2nd digit with a 5 day stand down recommended. Trainer JR GUTHRIE was advised that SLIGHTLY FOXED was to undertake a Satisfactory Trial before racing again. HOMEBUSH CLARIE (JT McInerney) scratched at Christchurch GRC meeting on 24 February 2009. Rule 64.12. 21 days up to and including 15 March 2009. HOMEBUSH JAN (JT McInerney) ligament sprain to 4th toe left hind. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 21 ays up to and including 17 March 2009. SLIGHTLY FOXED (JR Guthrie) to undertake a satisfactory trial in accordance with Rule 81.1.
Race 4 BRENDON BURKE @ SOUTHERNWIDE - C0 - 457 ROYAL RODNEY was slow to jump settling last. As POISED improved into the bend to take the lead BLOOMING MABEL was tightened and went back on top of WILLY JUNIOR who stumbled and lost all chance to finish in 7th place while BLOOMING MABEL tailed off to finish last. A veterinary check revealed her to have a left triceps tear with a 21 day stand down recommended. HOMEBUSH NICK (JT McInerney) scratched at Christchurch GRC meeting on 24 February 2009. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 1 March 2009. WOOF INGILLTAB (P&B Conner) lame in left hind. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 14 days up to and including 10 March 2009. BLOOMING MABEL (M&J Hill) left fore triceps tear. Rule 82.1. 21 days up to and including 18 March 2009.
Race 5 NEW BOUNCE B POWDER - C3 - 390 HAILSTONE HERB, SWIFT TOKEN and GO STRAIT THREW were tightened into the bend losing ground. ZITA GRACE faultered approaching the home straight drifting to finish last. A veterinary check revealed a left triceps tear with a 21 day stand down recommended. In the home straight GEMSTONE RUSTY marred ZITA GRACE before running on for third. GEMSTONE RUSTY was stood down for a period of 28 days under Rule 80.1.a. and ordered to undertake a Satisfactory Trial. ZITA GRACE (MM Grant) left fore triceps tear. Rule 82.1. 21 days up to and including 18 March 2009. GEMSTONE RUSTY (MJ Flipp) stood down under Rule 80.1.a. for 28 days up to and including 25 March 2009 and to undertake a Satisfactory Trial.
Race 6 LONESTAR CAFE & BAR - C1 - 390 TICTAC MAN jumped awkwardly from the boxes. After the jump GROOVE ARMADA ran inwards checking PARUMBA TIGER and CAP FANTASTIC. Into the bend WILLY'S PRIDE and KAIWERA SARAH were checked as a result of tightening. PARUMBA TIGER ran wide around the bend losing ground to finish at the rear.
Race 7 $22 MUZZLE STAKES - C1 - 390 Into the bend VERONICA ran outwards tightening LEO'S BOY, HAILSTONE HARLY and AGENT BOND who all lost ground. CAWBOURNE RANCH (MM Grant) stood down at Christchurch GRC meeting on 24 February 2009. Rule 82.1. 7 days up to and including 2 March 2009.
Race 8 WILLIAM LYNN STAKES - C1 - 390 All clear. THRILLING EADIE (P&B Conner) ligament damage to left fore 3rd toe. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 21 days up to and including 17 March 2009. CAWBOURNE DOC (MM Grant) stood down at Christchurch GRC meeting on 24 February 2009. Rule 82.1. 28 days up to and including 23 March 2009.
Race 9 SOUTHLAND TIPPING COMPETITION - C2 - 457 FREDDIE SAGE and NORTH INGILLTAB came together into the bend losing ground. Both ran on well. SILENT HAND ran out after the start checking FROSTY BLONDE.
Race 10 ILT SPEIGHTS ALE HOUSE - C1 - 457 BEAUTIFUL MOMENT moved out after the jump tightening OSWALD BOATENG and FOLLOW MY HAZE. Around the bend OSWALD BOATENG checked out off RED FOX GRACE when endeavouring to improve. In the straight OSWALD BOATENG and FOLLOW MY HAZE came together losing ground. WILLY BOLT (MJ Flipp) starter in Race 11. BOTANY KAREN (JT McInerney) withdrawn under Rule 63.10. No penalty.
Race 11 SGRC SOUTH ISLAND BREEDERS #3 ROUND 2 - SPECAq - 390 Heat 1 WILLY BOLT was slow to jump. CHILE TIME moved away from the rail into the bend checking PARANOVA. BOON DOCK (J&D Fahey) right hind muscle sprain. Veterinary certitifate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 3 March 2009.
Race 12 SOUTHERN FLOOR CARE LTD - C4 - 390 WATUSI ASSASSIN ran in after the jump checking NURSE NANCY. Into the bend SOLID HAND was checked coming back on NURSE NANCY. Soon after SAINT DANIEL and ALECIA RELTUB came together both losing ground and forcing KNOW BETTER wide.
Race 13 OSBORNE ENGINEERING BLUFF - C4 - 457 All clear.
Race 14 NEXT TO LAST STAKES - C2/3 - 390 BANDANNA LEE jumped awkwardly from the inside box settling last. Into the bend LE FLAMBEUR was tightened when vying for the lead coming back on HOMEBUSH MARLON and WORDS OF WISDOM who lost all chance as a result.
Race 15 SEE YA NEXT TIME STAKES - C4/5 - 390 SAIGON LORD and CHILE WILL HE were checked into the bend. Turning for home CAWBOURNE HAPPY ran outwards checking ROCKA HULA nd DEAL FOR YOU.
