Judicial report: Weather: Fine Handler A.C. Roberts admitted a charge under Rule 68.1 in that he was late to kennelling for races 9 and 10. Due to mitigating circumstances Mr Roberts received a final warning.
Trainer D. Fahey pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 71.2 in that he was 7 minutes late to retrieve SUDDEN SAM for Race 6 which resulted in the race being run behind time. Mr Fahey was fined the sum of $50.00.

Race 1	TROPHIES PLUS DASH - C2 - 318	DAVINCI and BITTA ZIP came together at the end of the back straight while racing in tight quarters. DAVINCI and RANUI came together momentarialy racing into the home straight. VALUE PACK (D.L. Roberts). Laceration to webbing. Dog presented. Rule 64.12. 14 day stand down up to and including 6/3/09.
Race 2	MEADOWSET GRAPHICS SPRINT - C1 - 318	Shortly after the start PARK RED attempted to move away from the rail while THRILLING WEB moved toward the rail with these two dogs jostling for positions for a short time, as a result both dogs lost ground. THRILLING WEB rallied again to finish fourth, albeit just over 8 lengths from the winner.
Race 3	THORNTON AUCTIONS AUCKLAND DERBY HEATS - R/Aq - 527 Heat 1	The first and second favourites, WINSOME BUCKS and PACK AND GUNS, were both very slow to jump, although WINSOME BUCKS did run on well over the concluding stages to finish fourth. BLACK IS BACK ran out sharply shortly after the start checking CAWBOURNE WILKO, neither dog lost ground in the incident. Rounding the home bend BLACK IS BACK checked off the heels of CAWBOURNE WILKO. BOLSTAD (D. Brewer & J. Gilbert). Gastroenteritis. Dog presented Manawatu 23/2/09. Rule 64.12. 7 day stand down up to and including 27/2/09.
Race 4	GREYHOUNDS NORTH DISTANCE SERIES FINAL - C0df - 603	TOTAL INFERNO ran out racing into the home straight on the first occasion causing checks to FANCY KATE and DENNY JEWEL, with all three dogs losing ground as a result. WINSOME CRUISER (T. Green). Stand down ex Waikato 19/2/09.
Race 5	$30,000 PICK 6 STAKES - C3 - 318	As the field raced into the first bend HOMEBUSH BREE became squeezed between MOON DANCER and CAWBOURNE CARD with END ZONE who was immediately behind HOMEBUSH BREE dragging this dog down. HOMEBUSH BREE fell as a result of this incident and a post race veterinary check revealed an injury to the left quadriceps requiring a 10 day stand down. As the field reached the point of the first bend CAWBOURNE CARD and DREAM A WIN came together with CAWBOURNE CARD falling. As a result of injuries sustained CAWBOURNE CARD was euthanised. As a result of CAWBOURNE CARD falling THRILLING ELROY, which was racing immediately behind had to leap the fallen runner and lost considerable ground as a result.
Race 6	THORNTON AUCTIONS AUCKLAND DERBY HEATS - R/Aq - 527 Heat 1	All clear CAWBOURNE FORCE (D. Brewer & J. Gilbert). Right leg muscle injury. Dog presented Manawatu 23/2/09. Rule 64.12. 4 day stand down up to and including 24/2/09. FIGHT NIGHT (D. Brewer & J. Gilbert). Gastroenteritis. Dog presented Manawatu 23/2/09. Rule 64.12. 3 day stand up to and including 23/2/09.
Race 7	TERRY RYAN TIMBER SPRINT - C5 - 318	At the end of the back straight DEVILS MARBLES checked off CAWBOURNE CATHY and lost ground with ANNIES BRAT and FERVID also losing ground. HOMEBUSH BREE (P. Freeman & A Turnwald). Injury to left quadriceps. Rule 82.1. 10 day stand down up to and including 3/3/09. CAWBOURNE CARD (C. Derecourt). Euthanased.
Race 8	JACKS WHOLESALE MEATS - C1 - 527	DOLLY BREEN and SPY POWERS came together momentarily as they came into the home straight. THRILLING TEX (K. Walsh). Bruising left front foot. Dog presented. Rule 64.12. 7 day stand down up to and including 27/2/09. WHAT SHIRAZ (T. Green). Scratched ex Waikato 19/2/09. Rule 64.12. 7 day stand down up to and including 24/2/09.
Race 9	PACIFIC SHEET & COIL STAKES - C5 - 527	All clear. VARVATOS (M. Cuneo). Left front stopper pad injury. Rule 82.1. 3 day stand down up to and including 24/2/09.
Race 10	THE ALAMO BAR & TAB SPRINT - C4 - 318	DEVIL'S COUNTY, SASSY DIAMOND and GUNNADOO KNIGHT came together shortly after the start with DEVIL'S COUNTY and SASSY DIAMOND losing ground. NEW CLEAR POWER (K. Braithwaite). Stand down ex Waikato 19/2/09. Rule 82.1 10 day stand down up to and including 28/2/09. DELLACQUA (T. Green). Left accessory carpal bone and tendon injury. Rule 64.12. 10 day stand down up to and including 2/3/09.
