Judicial report: Weather: Fine Handler Mrs P Sutch-Jones was warned after her dog accidentally escaped in the parade ring.
Trainer PG Lowen was fined $50.00 after admitting a charge under Rule 66.2 when he allowed an unlicensed person to handle HITMAN FRED, a swab dog, after Race 5.

Race 1	WELCOME TO CAMBRIDGE DASH - C0 - 375	SWANTON BOMB and BRATPACK SALLY came together into the bend and dropped to the rear where they stayed.
Race 2	MATANGI MAIDEN - C0 - 457	ROLL UP was very slow to jump from the inside and remained well back. THRILLING MOSS was also slow and then checked when attempting to improve on the inside of MATRIX HERO losing a couple of lengths. THRILLING MOSS made up stacks of ground for fourth. At the lure MATRIX HERO was observed to take a knock with a post race veterinary check revealing no injury.
Race 3	TAMAHERE DASH - C1 - 375	GOLD FOOT checked outwards off THRILLING CHASE into the bend with QUEEN LIZZY receiving the backwash and losing ground. THRILLING VIRUS (GR Farrell) strained right hock. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 27 February 2009. WHAT SHIRAZ (TA Green) strained carpus. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 24 February 2009.
Race 4	PROTECTOR SAFETY FIRST 4 - C1 - 457	THRILLING CELIA appeared to run outwards at the end of the back straight checking an improving THRILLING TEX who in turn hampered FANCY GIRL wider out. THRILLING TEX recovered late for fifth. MEDIA MOGUL (LJ Laagland) toe nails worn to quick. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 23 February 2009. THRILLING ALERT (K Walsh) club scratching. No penalty.
Race 5	TAUWHARE DASH - C1 - 375	THRILLING SYD appeared to be tightened in the run to the bend and dropped to the rear where he stayed.
Race 6	THE INTERISLANDER DASH - C4 - 375	The lure broke down after fifty metres due to a problem with the cogs. The reserve lure was placed on for the rerun. All dogs were checked by the veterinary surgeon and with the exception of REWIRED passed fit to race. The rerun was clear of incidents. REWIRED (DD Schofield) was a late scratching on the track after the lure had broken down with a disclocated toe. Rule 68.26. 30 days up to and including 21 March 2009.
Race 7	RAGLAN SPRINT - C4 - 375	This race four minutes late due to the previous delay. DEVIL'S COUNTY ran very wide into the home straight losing several lengths but ran on well when balanced for fourth. Following the race CROWDED HOUSE was subject to a post race veterinary check that revealed a torn pad and broken toe nail with a fourteen day stand down recommended. NEW CLEAR POWER was also vet checked with a torn pad and a ten day stand down was recommended. CROWDED HOUSE (W Steele) torn pad and broken toe nail. Rule 82.1. 14 days up to and including 3 March 2009. NEW CLEAR POWER (K Braithwaite) torn and grazed pad. Rule 82.1. 10 days up to and including 28 February 2009.
Race 8	RACEWAY SPRINT - C5 - 375	AUSTIN appeared to run wide soon after the jump pushing DEVIL'S MARBELS and ONIE'S LAD over extra ground. SUISSA was tightened in the approach to the bend and was relegated to the rear.
Race 9	SUPERIOR CHUNKY DOG ROLLS SPRINT - C2/3 - 375	RIALTO MISSION and SIROCCO CAM tightened each other towards the rear into the bend. On the home turn CONTAGEN ran wide and lost some ground.
Race 10	T.A.B PUMP & AUTOMOTIVE STAKES - C4/5 - 457	WINSOME CRUISER never appeared to be hitting out and was a long last throughout. Without a head on view it was difficult to establish whether the dog had suffered any interference. A post race veterinary check revealed a left hind strained whip muscle with a five day stand down recommended. PADDY BOND, THANK YOU JIM and EDDY'S GOAL were all tightened in the run to the bend losing ground. WINSOME CRUISER (TA Green) strained left hind whip muscle. Rule 82.1. 5 days up to and including 23 February 2009.
