Judicial report: Weather: Wet and overcast Trainers J&D Fahey were charged with a breach of Rules 64.2 and 64.5 in failing to present VELOCITY LANE to compete in Race 11. VELOCITY LANE was carded as 2nd reserve and they failed to withdraw the dog in terms of Rule 63.10. With the scratching of the 1st reserve VELOCITY LANE made the field. They were fined $100.00 for the breach with VELOCITY LANE stood down for a period of 28 days up to and including 11 March 2009.
Trainer JT McInerney was charged with breach of Rule 43.7 relating to the incorrect on line nomination of ANOTHER KERRY in a c1 race at the Otago GRC meeting on 22 January 2009 when a c2 dog. ANOTHER KERRY finished 3rd in the event. The charge was admitted and ANOTHER KERRY was subsequently disqualified from its 3rd placing, with an order for forfeiture of the winning stake money totalling $172.50. The ammended placings were: CHESTNUT 1st, GROOVE ARMADA 2nd and DOUGSTAR JAKE 3rd. In accordance with NZGRA policy no action was taken against the trainer due to the online nomination system not reflecting the correct grading for the dog at the time of nomination.

Race 1	PAWS INN BOARDING KENNEL SPRINT - C4 - 310	MUNGO, MOST ROYAL and AWESOME DEEJAY came together soon after the jump. Into the bend SAINT DANIEL crossed over CAWBOURNE MOLLY who was checked for a stride or two. MOST ROYAL was knocked over and trampled at the pull up and was subject to a veterinary check which revealed nothing amiss.
Race 2	BRIAN BAGLEY DRIVER LICENSING STAKES - C0 - 545	HOMEBUSH HAZARD was slow to jump. Into the first bend BOTANY ADAM tightened LOU BALE and BURN DOWN ROAD on his inner. Soon after BLOOMING MABEL was checked when tightened between BOTANY ADAM and GET OUT THERE, coming back on LOU BALE, BURN DOWN ROAD and HOMEBUSH HAZARD. These dogs lost all chance.
Race 3	GREEN ISLAND BARBER SPRINT - C0 - 310	HOMEBUSH TRAVIS was slow to jump. Into the bend MISTY SHADOW, HOMEBUSH CLARIE and BOTANY SHELLEY were checked. SLIGHTLY FOXED drifted to the rear into the bend and never improved. DIARACK (D Kingston) scratched at Christchurch GRC meeting on 10 February 2009. Rule 64.12. 21 days up to and including 1 March 2009.
Race 4	OTAGO FIRST FOUR SPRINT - C3 - 310	Soon after the jump LES BAXTER, ANOTHER SAGE and HAILSTONE HERB were tightened losing ground. Into the bend when improving LES BAXTER, NICCA NOTCH and HAILSTONE HERB were checked with HAILSTONE HERB being forced very wide. HOMEBUSH MATE (JT McInerney) was a late scratching at kennelling with a sprained left carpus. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 68.26. 10 days up to and including 21 February 2009.
Race 5	KEYOSK SERVICE BAR STAKES - C1 - 545	OSWALD BOATENG, REDBANK RUBY and HARBOUR BALE were checked into the first bend losing ground.
Race 6	BROCKLEBANK DRY CLEANERS SPRINT - C0 - 310	WILL YA and HOMEBUSH PERCY were tightened soon after the jump. Into the bend HE'S A LION and EASY FINANCE came together. Turning for home HE' S A LION checked out off HOMEBUSH PERCY colliding heavily with KILDA EXPRESS both losing ground.
Race 7	SPEEDPRINT SHOP SPRINT - C1 - 310	FOLLOW MY HAZE was slow to jump. Into the bend HOMEBUSH MARS, ALL TIGER and CAWBOURNE DOC were checked as a result of general tightening.
Race 8	COUPLANDS BAKERY STAKES - C1 - 545	DON THE HOP and MR JOLES drifted to the rear after the jump. Into the first bend AMBER DERVISH and CAWBOURNE DOC came together losing ground. Into the back straight DON THE HOP checked out of AMBER DERVISH. At the end of the back straight AMBER DERVISH was tightened by improving dogs drifting out to finish last.
Race 9	WOBBLY'S SPRINT - C1 - 310	TALENT CITY and HOMEBUSH HOLLY drifted to the rear after he jump. Into the bend TWO TICK JESSIE was checked. Soon after HAILSTONE HARLY improved inside THRILLING JAZZ checked as a result. Turning for home TWO TICK JESSIE checked out off TALENT CITY running wide as a result.
Race 10	WWW.GREYHOUNDSASPETS.ORG.NZ - C2 - 310	HERE'S MAREE NOW and QUEEN FALCON came together around the bend losing ground. JIMMY COOL (C White) veterinary certificate to be supplied. ANOTHER KERRY (JT McInerney) was a late scratching at Christchurch GRC meeting on 10 February 2009. Rule 68.25. 28 days up to and including 9 March 2009. NATASHA'S DUFFER (JT McInerney) injured left hock. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 14 days up to and including 24 February 2009.
Race 11	ST KILDA VET STAKES - C2/3 - 545	SUDDEN SAM was tightened by SHREK ROXON into the first bend and came in contact with MOA HUNTER into the back straight, settling last as a result. FLYING ASPEN hit the rail when checked by an improving SHREK ROXON around the top bend drifting out quickly to finish last. A veterinary check revealed cuts to the left hind leg with a 7 day stand down recommended. LOCHINVAR VUITON (MM Grant) injured right shoulder. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 21 February 2009. ZITA GRACE (MM Grant) withdrawn under Rule 63.10. No penalty. VELOCITY LANE (J&D Fahey) not presented to race. Rule 64.5. 28 days up to and including 11 March 2009. FLYING ASPEN (MM Grant) cuts to left hind leg. Rule 82.1. 7 days up to and including 18 February 2009.
Race 12	PET CENTRAL SPRINT - C5 - 310	DA COOLA and CADBURY HAND were checked into the bend and came together again in the approach to the home straight. HOMEBUSH CASTOR who was handy early was tightened into the bend and ran wide into the home straight losing ground.
Race 13	COMMITTEE STAKES - C4/5 - 545	CAPTAIN BRUCE was slow to jump. Ino the bend KEEP YA COOL and ELARA were checked in a compact field. Soon after SMASH MCCOY and SENSATIVE HARRY came together with SENSATIVE HARRY falling. He regained his feet to finish the race. SALLY BAXTER and CAPTAIN BRUCE were forced wide as a result of the fall. SENSATIVE HARRY was subject to a veterinary check which revealed nothing amiss.
Race 14	PRESIDENTS SPRINT - C5 - 310	SIR KRETION, ANGELITO and ROCKA HULA came together in the run to the bend losing ground with ANGELITO hitting the rail to finish a long last. Approaching the home turn CAWBOURNE HAPPY moved off the rail checking JILL BAXTER. ANGELITO was subject to a veterinary check which revealed a fractured left wrist resulting in her euthanasia on humane grounds. ANGELITO (JT McInerney) fractured left wrist. Rule 82.1. Euthanased on humane grounds.
Race 15	COUPLANDS BAKERY FIRST FOUR SPRINT - C4 - 310	WORLD WARNING drifted to the rear after the jump. Into the bend GO STRAIT THREW , REMUS and ALECIA RELTUB were checked, coming back on WORLD WARNING. They filled the last four placings.
