Judicial report: Weather: Fine GA CLEEVE pleaded not guilty to a charge under Rule 88.1.o. relating to an incident at kennelling on 20 January 2009. After hearing evidence from the Assistant Steward and the Weighing Steward, along with a defence witness, the charge was found proven. A fine of $75.00 was imposed by the Adjudicating Steward.
MM GRANT pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 88.1.q. relating to an incident during trials prior to the first race. A fine of $150.00 was imposed by the Adjudicating Steward.
A defended hearing against SR McINERNEY to a charge under Rule 88.1.o. relating to an incident at Addington on 7 November 2008 was heard. Evidence was given by 3 prosecution witnesses and one defence witness. After hearing that evidence the Adjudicating Steward found the charge not proven and accordingly dismissed the charge.

Race 1	ADVANCE PERFORMANCE DASH - C1 - 295	From the jump HAMBURGER moved inwards and came into contact with ANOTHER BAXTER with LE FLAMBEUR receiving a check. Into the turn HOMEBUSH BURT crossed over and checked BY GORRIE DORRIE who went back on top of HAMBURGER and forced BRAVE ENDEAVOUR to go wide and stumble. Both HAMBURGER and BRAVE ENDEAVOUR finished at the rear of the field.
Race 2	CHALLENGE OPAWA ALL UP SPRINT - C1 - 295	On the turn OHOKA DUKE crossed over and checked the running of the trailing NEED A NURSE who was slow to jump. At the lure NEED A NURSE collided heavily with FANTASY BAXTER with both dogs subject to a veterinary check which revealed no injury to FANTASY BAXTER. NEED A NURSE had pain to the left shoulder with a 14 day stand down recommended. NEED A NURSE (JS Rush) pain in left shoulder. Rule 82.1. 14 days up to and including 16 February 2009.
Race 3	BARRON'S SUPPLIES STAKES - C0 - 520	The favourite SMASH KINGDOM was slow from the outside box but improved quickly in the run to the first turn where she tightened DIARACK, both being checked and causing checks to WARRIOR WIKI, HARBOUR BALE, HOMEBUSH CLARIE and ROYAL ADONIS. Around the top bend and into the home straight SMASH KINGDOM improved inside DIARACK before marring that dog both running wide on the track. SMASH KINGDOM was charged with a breach of Rule 80.1.a. and was stood down for a period of 28 days and ordered to undertake a satisfactory trial. ANOTHER WACK (JT McInerney) bruised gracilus. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 14 days up to and including 15 February 2009. SMASH KINGDOM (MM Grant) stood down under Rule 80.1.a. 28 days up to and including 3 March 2009 and to undertake a satisfactory trial.
Race 4	WWW.CANTERBURYPROPERTY.CO.NZ DASH - C1 - 295	ONE SICK CHICK lost several lengths at the jump and never recovered to finish last.
Race 5	TUESDAY PLACE PICK STAKES - C0 - 520	In the run to the first turn HO HO PAREORA moved inwards and checked LOU BALE. Into the back straight TIME CATCHER ran out and was clipped in the rear by TIPPY TIPSTAR, and then HO HO PAREORA and HOMEBUSH PERCY came together and lost ground, with these dogs filling the last four placings. WANDY WARRIOR (JT McInerney) infected right hind toe. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 21 days up to and including 19 February 2009. ROYAL ADONIS (M Bunny) starter in Race 3.
Race 6	POWER FARMING LTD STAKES - C1 - 520	Into the first turn OFF THE RAILS crossed over and checked the running of CHLOE BEAR and TRENDY GUY. On the turn BANKSIDE LASS moved outwards and forced OFF THE RAILS into the path of SUDDEN SAM who went sideways and checked TRENDY GUY, ROCKY'S STAR and DEAR ABBEY with these three dogs finishing at the rear.
Race 7	NEW ZEALAND RACING SERIES #9 SPRINT FINAL - RESf - 295	In the run to the turn KNOW LOVE crossed over and checked REMUS who went back on top of NURSE NANCY, KNOW GOOD and HAILSTONE HERB with these three dogs losing all chances to finish at the rear.
Race 8	PERRY FOUNDATION SPRINT - C0 - 295	Into the turn HOMEBUSH MARS pushed outwards into HOMEBUSH HOLLY with a resultant check to HOMEBUSH HAZARD. These dogs lost all chances to fill the last three placings.
Race 9	DANNY MILWARD PLASTERING DASH - C0 - 295	Due to a delay in the preceding harness race the start of this race was put back 3 minutes at the request of the TAB. CAP FANTASTIC went up with the lids and lost all chances to finish back in the field. In the run to the turn ALBIE'S STAR crossed over and collided with HOMEBUSH LIBBY with LAUREN'S LEGACY and HOMEBUSH SOPHIE tightened and MANDY LIFEBOATS checked back to the rear. MANDY LIFEBOATS was subject to a veterinary check which showed a torn left gracilus with a 21 day stand down recommended. VERONICA (MJ Flipp) left hind sore. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 8 February 2009. HOMEBUSH TRAVIS (JT McInerney) right hind tear to top of web. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 9 February 2009. MANDY LIFEBOATS (RM McKenzie) torn left gracilus. Rule 82.1. 21 days up to and including 23 February 2009.
Race 10	PICK 6 LEG 1 STAKES - C1 - 520	Into the turn OSWALD BOATENG moved outwards and checked WITH A RHYTHM and CLEEVE HILL, then into the back straight OSWALD BOATENG and LINE UP collided when vying for the lead but both dogs recovered to contest the finish.
Race 11	WWW.WILLYWHATATSTUD.COM STAKES - C1 - 520	TRUSTEE missed the jump by several lengths and never recovered to finish 5th. Following the race NO SLEEP was subject to a veterinary check which revealed a right fore sesamoid sprain with a 7 day stand down recommended. NO SLEEP (MM Grant) right fore sesamoid sprain. Rule 82.1. 7 days up to and including 9 February 2009.
Race 12	CAROL'S T.A.B. DASH - C1 - 295	In the run to the turn HAILSTONE HARLY crossed over in front of the field and checked NITRO PEGGY with HE'S SO FINE and LEO'S BOY also receiving checks. As LEO'S BOY went backwards he forced GRANT A CHANCE wide on the track. Into the home straight TWO TICK JESSIE ran outwards and struck HE'S SO FINE with NITRO PEGGY forced wide.
Race 13	FLAIR DISTANCE FEATURE - C1d - 645	All clear. Following the race SATAN'S PLOT was subject to a veterinary check which revealed bruising to both gracilus muscles with a 14 day stand down recommended. SATAN'S PLOT (JT MCInerney) bruising to both gracilus muscles. Rule 82.1. 14 days up to and including 16 February 2009.
Race 14	SPEIGHTS SIX PACK - C2 - 520	Into the first turn DELUSIONIST pushed outwards into the path of GENISTA DREAMA and VALUE PACK with both these dogs losing ground to finish at the rear.
Race 15	DAVE ROBBIE PHOTOGRAPHER DASH - C1 - 295	From the jump TALENT CITY ran inwards and checked LINCOLN BRAND. Into the turn THRILING JAZZ moved away from the rail tightening BETTY BEEP and CORETS COMET. LIAM TITLE (LJ Waretini) was a late scratching at kenneling with high temperature and difficulty walking. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 68.26. 10 days up to and including 12 February 2009.
