Judicial report: Weather: Fine Club Manager, JD CARLYLE was charged with a breach of Rule 88.1.q. in respect of the late scratching on KAIAPOI FIRST, a dual acceptor in Race 2 and 14. He pleaded guilty to the charge. The circumstances were that KAIAPOI FIRST as first reserve entered the field for the distance feature with Trainer RD BLACKBURN advised accordingly. CARLYLE confirmed that he had omitted to scratch KAIAPOI FIRST from her Race 2 engagement. A fine of $100.00 was imposed.
Trainer JE DUNN was charged with a breach of Rule 71.2 as a result of arriving late at the kennels to prepare WINSOME GRACE for Race 8. He pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined $50.00.
Steward S BAGLEY was charged with a breach of Rule 88.1.q. in that she failed to ensure Trainer JE DUNN was in the kennel block to prepared his dog WINSOME GRACE to compete in Race 8. She pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined $50.00.

Race 1	NEW YEAR SPRINT - C0 - 310	AKAISHA BALE was slow to jump. After the jump HOMEBUSH SOPHIE moved outwards checking HOMEBUSH HOLLY who lost ground. Into the turn DIRT TRAK COWBOY moved off the rail tightening HOMEBUSH SOPHIE.
Race 2	ANNIVERSARY STAKES - C0 - 545	LINE UP and HOMEBUSH MARS came together into the first bend with HOMEBUSH MARS losing ground. HOMEBUSH NICK (JT McInerney) late scratching at Wellington GRC meeting on 19 January 2009. Rule 68.26. 10 days up to and including 28 January 2009. KAIAPOI FIRST (RD Blackburn) was a late scratching at 11.15am on 22 January 2009 from Race 2 after having made the field as a reserve in Race 14. No stand down - refer to Judicial. BOTANY ADAM (JT McInerney) late scratching at Wellington GRC meeting on 19 January 2009. Rule 68.26. 10 days up to and including 28 January 2009.
Race 3	GREYHOUNDSASPETS.ORG.NZ - C0 - 310	Into the bend MULBERRY MADAM ran out colliding with HOMEBUSH LADY before checking out further taking BOTANY SHELLEY wide on the track. Soon after HOMEBUSH LADY hit the rail losing momentum to tail the field in. A post race veterinary check revealed two cuts to the inside left leg which required staples with a 7 day stand down recommended. ZAZU BOY (JT McInerney) withdrawn from Wellington GRC meeting on 19 January 2009. Rule 65.5. 28 days up to and including 15 February 2009. HOMEBUSH LADY (JT McInerney) stapled cuts to inside of left hind leg. Rule 82.1. 7 days up to and including 28 January 2009.
Race 4	DAVE ROBBIE PHOTOGRAPHER SPRINT - C1 - 310	FROSTY BLONDE and VIVALDI ROAD were slow to jump. Into the bend VIVALDI ROAD cluipped the heels on FROSTY BLONDE and fell heavily before regaining his feet to finish the race. Soon after CAWBOURNE BLUE was tightened coming back on FOLLOW MY HAZE. Into the home straight FROSTY BLONDE and FOLLOW MY HAZE came together when racing near the rear. VIVALDI ROAD was subject to a veterinary check which revealed no injury. CAWBOURNE FREDDY (MM Grant) stood down at Christchurch GRC meeting on 22 January 2009. Rule 80.1.a. 28 days up to and including February 2009.
Race 5	ST KILDA VETERINARY CENTRE STAKES - C1 - 545	MAXWELL COOL ran out after jumping colliding with TRUSTEE. Around the first bend they came together again losing further ground. SHAKIN' MARTINI (GA Cleeve) stood down at Christchurch GRC meeting on 20 January 2009. Rule 82.1. 28 days up to and including February 2009.
Race 6	A F JOHNSTON ELECTRICAL SPRINT - C1 - 310	FANTASY BAXTER and LEO'S BOY were tightened soon after the start. Into the bend LEO'S BOY and KAIWARA SARAH came together losing ground and coming back on FANTASY BAXTER. Soon after CAWBOURNE DOC moved away from the rail with KARAMEA LABRI clipping his heels losing ground. Turning for home GRANT A CHANCE moved down onto TICKLE TOE who was checked for a few strides.
Race 7	SPEEDPRINT SHOP SPRINT - C2 - 310	CARNABY who was slow to jump was tightened into the bend losing all chance.
Race 8	BRIAN BAGLEY DRIVER LICENSING STAKES - C2/3 - 545	WINSOME GRACE and TEDDY NOVA were slow to jump settling at the rear and never improving. Trainer JE Dunn was spoken to in regard to his late arrival to the kennel block to prepare WINSOME GRACE for this race. His explanation that he was attending to a sick dog in his vehicle, however he arrived at the kennel block as the balance of the field were leaving for the start. A post race check of WINSOME GRACE showed the dog not be suffering from any injury.
Race 9	PET CENTRAL SPRINT - C3 - 310	Into the bend ZAMMY endeavoured to cross HOMEBUSH DUNCAN and move down to the rail with them coming together and checked back on SAINT DANIEL with LAGOON LAD being forced wide. LES BAXTER (JT McInerney) late scratching at Wellington GRC meeting on 19 January 2009. Rule 68.26. 7 days up to and including 25 January 2009.
Race 10	PAWS INN BOARDING KENNEL SPRINT - C4 - 310	Soon after the jump GEMSTONE RUSTY ran inwards colliding with KARL BAXTER who drifted to last and never improved. A post race veterinary check revealed nothing amiss.
Race 11	BROCKLEBANK DRY CLEANERS STAKES - C4 - 545	RAPALA BOY was tightened soon after the jump. Into the first bend RAPALA BOY and GENISTA FLYER came together losing all chance.
Race 12	KEYOSK SERVICE BAR SPRINT - C4 - 310	WORLD WARNING tightened WILL SHE ECHO into the bend with WILL SHE ECHO losing ground before finishing on for 2nd. Around the bend WORLD WARNING clipped the heels of NOT A WHATA losing ground. WHISKY LEE GIRL (JT McInerney) stood down at Wanganui GRC meeting on 16 January 2009. Rule 82.1. 42 days up to and including 26 February 2009. OLD MATE BOB (MM Grant) was a late scratching at kennelling when found with a cut to the left fore pad. Rule 68.26. Veterinary certificate supplied. 10 days up to and including 31 January 2009
Race 13	GREEN ISLAND BARBER SPRINT - C5 - 310	WATUSI ASSASSIN and CELTIC FLYER were tightened into the bend both coming back on REMUS with SOLID HAND running wide to avoid the skirmish.
Race 14	PRESIDENTS DISTANCE - C1d - 770	KAIAPOI FIRST was slow to jump. Around the bend past the winning post MR BONZALES sustained a bad check when colliding with an improving DON THE HOP. COOL GROOVY who led early drifted out quickly over the concluding stages of the race. Both COOL GROOVY and MR BONZALES were subject to veterinary checks which revealed nothing amiss. ROBBITY BOB (JR Goode) shoulder tear. Rule 64.14. 28 days up to and including 14 February 2009. SHREK ROXON (Hart/Taylor) stood down at Christchurch GRC meeting on 20 January 2009. Rule 82.1. 7 days up to and including 26 January 2009. WINSOME FLYER (J&D Fahey) sore left hip support muscle. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 14 days up to and including 3 February 2009. MR JOLES (M&J Hill) sore right thigh muscle. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Race 15	FAREWELL FRANK MURPHY SPRINT - C5 - 310	The favourite HISTORIUM was slow to jump and when improving around the field clipped the heels of GENISTA ASSASSIN both falling. HOMEBUSH CASTOR sustained a check as a result. HISTORIUM completed the race but GENISTA ASSASSIN ran back towards the handlers and was captured. All three were subject to veterinary checks which revealed HISTORIUM to be sore in the right carpal joint and left hind leg with a 10 day stand down recommended. HOMEBUSH CASTOR was found sore in the left hind leg with a 7 day stand down recommended. DA COOLA (JT McInerney) scratched at Wellington GRC meeting on 19 January 2009. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 24 January 2009. HISTORIUM (J&D Fahey) sore right carpal joint and left hind leg. Rule 82.1. 10 days up to and including 31 January 2009.
