Judicial report: Weather: Fine An inquiry was opened and adjourned under Rule 38.3 a. into the alleged breach of Rule 88.1 f by Mr S McInerney who was alleged to have used offensive language towards Steward Mr M.Austin.
An inquiry was opened and adjourned under Rule 38.3 a. into the alleged breach of Rule 88.1 f by Mr S.McInerney who was alleged to have used offensive language towards Track Curator Mr C.Butlin.
An inquiry was opened and adjourned under Rule 38.3 a. into the alleged breach of Rule 88.1 f . by Mr J.Woollston Bell who was alleged to have used offensive language towards Steward Mr M.Austin.
An inquiry was opened and adjourned under Rule 38.3 a. into the alleged breach of Rule 64.2 by Mr J.T.McInerney snr for the withdrawl without valid reason of six Greyhounds.

Race 1 BRANDON ST. TAB - C1 - 305 MADAM LEAH jumped well but was bumped soon after and went back to last and stayed there to the finish. FANTASY BAXTER was away well and handy to the first corner but was then checked and when dropping back was galloped on by HOT SPICEY BOY and never recovered and finished in 5th place.
Race 2 WAINUI TAB - C1 - 305 HOMEBUSH BEX moved in soon after the start and caused checks to GOOGLE MAGOO, BAILEYS DREAM and LUCHINO. LUCHINO and GOOGLE MAGOO bumped together on the first corner and they lost ground and finished in the last two places.
Race 3 VALLEY PARKING SERVICES - C1 - 520 LIFE BECKONS ducked out on the first corner and pushed SEDGEBROOK GOLD and TIZZY LEE BUCKET wide over extra ground on the bend.
Race 4 B & P ENGINEERING - C3 - 305 ALECIA RELTUB moved in soon after the start and hindered ARATAKI, HOMEBUSH JOY and BAXTER'S BOY for a few strides. BAXTER'S BOY was checked on the first corner and dropped back causing checks to HOMEBUSH JOY and LISA SHIRAZ who then ran wide over extra ground and finished at the rear. LES BAXTER J.T.McInerney Rule 68 A late scratching at kennelling time when found to have a toe injury and stood down for 7 days to and including 25.01.09.
Race 5 WELLINGTON CHAMPIONSHIP SPRINT HEAT 1 - C5q - 305 Heat 1 CAWBOURNE STACEY was checked and lost ground in the run to the first corner and stayed back to finish last. ONIE'S LAD and JILL BAXTER collided on the first corner and both lost ground and all chance of a placing. DA COOLA J.T.McInerney Rule 64 Suffering from groin strain and stood down for 14 days to and including 31.01.09. WONGAWILLISTEVE Gained a start in race 6. ALLEGRO VISION Gained a start in race 6.
Race 6 WELLINGTON CHAMPIONSHIP SPRINT HEAT 2 - C5q - 305 Heat 1 All clear. TWIST MIST B.Cole Rule 64 Suffering from a webbing injury and stood down for 10 days to and including 26.01.09. Vet certificate to be supplied. LEUMEAH MISS Ex Wanganui on 16.01.09.
Race 7 OPAWA RACING' WELLINGTON CUP HEAT 1 - C5q - 520 Heat 1 COSMIC ZUES faltered entering the back straight when obviously suffering an injury and took no further part in the race. COSMIC ZUES was examined by the Vet and stood down for 42 days with a hock injury. Following this race and after an approach from S.McInerney who was representing the J.T.McInerney runners, the Stewards made a further inspection of the Track and were satisfied it was safe to continue to race on. The Steward in Charge received a phone call from Mr J.McInerney who advised that he was officially withdrawing all his runners from the remaining races due to the fact that his representatives on track had reported to him that the track was unsafe and this information was given to Raceday Control and six McInerney runners were withdrawn. THRILLING BRUTE G & S Hayden Holmes Rule 64 Suffering from a toe injury and stood down for 10 days to and including 24.01.09. WINSOME DIGNITY S.Maher Rule 82 Suffering from pain in a thigh muscle and flank with a possible tear and stood down for 21 days to and including 08.02.09. COSMIC ZUES J.T.McInerney Rule 82 Suffered a fractured hock and stood down for 42 days to and including 01.03.09.
Race 8 OPAWA RACING' WELLINGTON CUP HEAT 2 - C5q - 520 Heat 1 SILENT EPISODE was checked on the final bend when racing onto the heels of the weakening WINSOME LIGHT and they finnished in the last two places. BILLY RUBIN J.McInerney Jnr Rule 64.5 and 64.6 Scratched late and without valid reason and stood down for 28 days to and including 15.02.09. ANOTHER MANGLES J.T.McInerney Rule 64.5 and 64.6 Scratched late and without valid reason and stood down for 28 days to and including 15.02.09.
Race 9 OPAWA RACING' WELLINGTON CUP HEAT 3 - C5q - 520 Heat 1 WHERE'S WHIZ moved out on the first corner and checked YAMBLA JACK who lost ground and was forced wide on the first bend. PINK RELTUB J.T.McInerney Rule 64.5 and 64.6 Scratched late and without valid reason and stood down for 28 days to and including 15.02.09.
Race 10 OPAWA RACING' WELLINGTON CUP HEAT 4 - C5q - 520 Heat 1 PORCELAIN GIRL moved in on the first turn and checked NELLY JEAN and APPOINTED THYME who both lost ground. Soon after WINSOME BUCKS checked off the heels of ATLANTIC BALE and moved out checking YOUNG DADDY and they both lost ground. SUPREME BASH S.Clark Rule 64 Suffering from an illness and stood down for 28 days to and including 13.02.09. Certificate to be supplied and papers to be endorsed. WANDY HAKA J.T.McInerney Rule 64.5 and 64.6 Scratched late and without valid reason and stood down for 28 days to and including 15.02.09.
Race 11 TRAINERS MAIDEN CUP - C0 - 520 ROLL UP was slow to begin and lost four lengths. CYCLONE TRAVIS ran onto the heels of ROLL UP entering the last bend when they were at the rear and they lost ground and finished some distance behind the other runners. BOTANY ADAM J.T.McInerney Rule 68 A late scratching at kennelling time when found to be lame in the left hind leg and stood down for 10 days to and including 28.01.09. HOMEBUSH NICK J.T.McInerney Rule 68 A late scratching at kennelling time when found to be suffering from hock strain and stood down for 10 days to and including 28.01.09. ZAZU BOY J.T.McInerney Rule 64.5 and 64.6 Scratched late and without valid reason and stood down for 28 days to and including 15.02.09.
Race 12 CAFE CIBO - C1/2 - 305 SHARKY MAGOO was away well but was galloped on by CAWBOURNE WHIZ near the first turn and dragged down. CAWBOURNE WHIZ also lost ground and all chance in the incident. SHARKY MAGOO was examined by the Vet and stood down for 5 days with a spike wound. MARC A BOOKIE D.Parata Rule 68 A late scratching at kennelling time when found to have pain in a sesamoid joint and stood down for 7 days to and including 25.01.09. SHARKY MAGOO D.Parata Rule 82 Checked and fell and suffered a spike wound and stood down for 5 days to and including 23.01.09.
Race 13 OPAWA RACING' WELLINGTON CUP FINAL 23RD JAN - C1/2 - 520 LAGOON GROVE checked away from the heels of KID DELANEY on the first corner and ran wide over extra ground on the bend. LAGOON GROVE then made up ground well to finish a close 2nd. TEENY TINY was checked starting the final bend when attempting a gap inside SUZY MAC but she recovered to go on and win. ACCUSER B.Cole Rule 64 Suffering from a pad injury and stood down for 10 days to and including 27.01.09. Vet certificate to be presented. FREDDIE SAGE J.T.McInerney Rule 64.5 and 64.6 Scratched late and without valid reason and stood down for 28 days to and including 15.02.09.
