Judicial report: Weather: Fine D.Schofield the Trainer of FAST STASS was fined $ 50-00 under rule 69.11 when the dog was presented 1.1 kilograms underweight.
D.Parata the Trainer of GROOVY AGAIN was fined $ 100-00 under Rule 69.11 when the dog was presented 1.8 kilograms underweight.

Race 1	ALLIED WORK FORCE 0800 LABOUR - C1q - 520 Heat 1	LISSADELL SAM moved out on the first corner and this movement resulted in checks to itself and also to ANOTHER SPECIAL, RHYANA REASON and KIWI SAVER and they lost ground and finished in the last four places. SMART SHARMILA Udy & McCracken Rule 64 Suffering from diarrhoea and stood down for 10 days to and including 18.01.09.
Race 2	MICKEYS SUPER LIQUOR - C4 - 305	ELITE BAXTER made contact with MUMMA DOONS just after the start and quickly eased right up and appeared to be in severe discomfort for several strides. He then got back into stride but finished some distance behind the others and was examined by the Vet and was suspected to have suffered from a shoulder muscle spasm due to a blow to the suprascapular nerve but recovered quickly and no stand down was required. The favourite MUMMA DOONS was pressured from the outside on the first corner and made firm contact with the rail and finished in 6th place. She was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury.
Race 3	BILDERBECK CONSTRUCTION LTD - C1q - 520 Heat 1	The favourite VIVALDI ROAD was the slowest away but then made up some ground until starting the final bend where he eased off the heels of THRILLING ACE and went back to last and finished several lengths behind the 2nd last dog. VIVALDI ROAD was examined by the Vet and found to have suffered from cramp and no stand down was required. The Vet recommended that the dog be confined to sprint races in the near future. REZENDE was in 4th place on the final bend and making ground but was checked losing three lengths and all chance of a placing and finished 4th.
Race 4	CROMBIE LOCKWOOD (NZ) LTD - C2/3 - 520	LAGOON LAD ran in from the start and checked JONNY MARCO and FREDDIE SAGE who settled at the rear and stayed well back throughout. GROOVIN'BAIN D.Parata Rule 64 Suffering from pain in a hip and thigh muscle and stood down for 5 days to and including 12.01.09. SOUTHERN MAN Ex Addington on 06.01.09.
Race 5	VITA POWER - C5 - 305	LOTTO LEO, CAWBOURNE KERRY and KARL BAXTER were checked on the first corner as KARL BAXTER came across. CAWBOURNE KERRY and KARL BAXTER then ran wide across the top bend
Race 6	KEENAN CONCRETE - C1/2 - 520	GROOVY SHOT and BIGTIME GUY were awkwardly placed between runners in the race to the first corner and dropped back losing four lengths. One of the better supported runners IT'S PERSONAL was handy to the first corner but began to drift going towards the final bend and finished several lengths last. IT'S PERSONAL was examined by the Vet and found to have minor spike wounds and grazes but no stand down was required.
Race 7	MORRIE GIBBONS SIGNS - C5 - 305	TONY KNOWS checked off the heels of ANGELITO on the first corner and moved out forcing ANOTHER GALE, ALLEGRO VISION and WILL ZAM wide into the bend over extra ground. SAMUEL BAXTER checked over the heels of TONY KNOWS on the home turn and moved out colliding with WILL ZAM and they lost ground and finished in the last two places.
Race 8	WWW.WANGANUICARCENTRE.COM - C4 - 520	One of the favourites IN TOM'S MEMORY was handy in the early and middle stages and was 2nd on the final bend but received a minor check from behind and drifted back to finish in last place. IN TOM'S MEMORY was examined by the Vet and found to have cramped in the race but no stand down was required. FIFI THE GENIUS J.Chatfield Rule 64 Suffering from spike wounds and stood down for 5 days to and including 12.01.09.
Race 9	WANGANUI SECURITY SERVICES - C3 - 305	GO BEN GO, BRITNEY BEERS and LUCY'S MINT bumped together in the race to the first corner and dropped back to the rear. Soon after, BRITNEY BEERS and LUCY'S MINT again bumped together and lost further ground and they finished in the last two places.
Race 10	SEE YOU @ 'THE RED' - C2 - 305	CAWBOURNE WHIZ moved in racing to the first turn and bumped with THRILLING POLAR and they both lost a little ground. WONGAWILLINEV was a little slow to begin and then was checked on the first corner and lost all chance and finished in 2nd last place.
