Judicial report: Weather: Fine Trainers P.Freeman and A.Turnwald were fined $50.00 for a breach of Rule 69.11 when RANUI weighed in at 33.7 kgs which was 1.1 kgs over his last race weight on 29 December 2008.
Trainer JA Cleaver was fined $50.00 for a breach of Rule 69.11 when ONSET weighed in at 27.6 kgs which was 1.1 kgs under her last race weight on 21 December 2008.
Trainer BDF Craik was fined $50.00 when CLEAR CONQUEST weighed in at 28.0 kgs which was 1.1 kgs under her last race weight on 12 December 2008.

| Race 2 | THE BROWNZY SPORTS BAR SERIES HEAT 1 - C0q - 318 Heat 1 | BRATPACK SALLY and MISS TORI came together into the turn with both dogs losing ground. Shortly after this MYREEN checked off the back of DARK FANCY losing a length. FLYING WHALE (SC Mann) left fore digit 5 digital extensor tendon injury. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 10 January 2009. |
| Race 3 | CAROL'S TABS SERIES FINAL - C1f - 318 | AGENT WHALE was dragged down by SUPER DRY into the bend with both dogs losing their chances. |
| Race 4 | THORNTON AUCTIONS STAKES - C1 - 527 | DENNY JEWEL was checked when racing on the outside of WINSOME SKY into the first bend and all but fell losing all chance. As the field entered the back straight REZENDE which was running third clipped the heels of the second dog BILLY THUNDER and took a spectacular fall eventually ending up on the inside of the course. The dog was recaptured safely. Post race veterinary checks of DENNY JEWEL and REZENDE revealed a strained right hock for DENNY JEWEL with a ten day stand down recommended and REZENDE was cleared of any injury. DENNY JEWEL (GM Hunt) strained right hock. Rule 82.1. 10 days up to and including 14 January 2009. |
| Race 5 | THE BROWNZY SPORTS BAR SERIES HEAT 2 - C0q - 318 Heat 1 | ABIGAIL'S PARTY and THRILLING IDOL were both slow to jump. MISS OBEDIENCE was tightened along the rail into the bend when racing towards the rear. On the home turn ONSET and FORGET NOT came together for a stride. UNCLE DENIS was subject to a post race veterinary check that revealed a hock sprain with a fourteen day stand down recommended. MAMBO SAM (HS Laagland) left wrist sprain. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 13 January 2009. UNCLE DENIS (GR Farrell) left hock sprain. Rule 82.1. 14 days up to and including 14 January 2009. |
