Judicial report: Weather: Fine and hot Following Race 10 an enquiry was opened and adjourned against Mr J.McInerney Jnr under Rule 80 regarding the boxing of HOMEBUSH CASTOR.

Race 1 ADVANCE PERFORMANCE DASH - C1 - 295 LE FLAMBEUR and DASH DOT DASH came together around the bend impeding both HANNAH BRAND and HEARTLINE. They filled the last four placings. THIS AND THAT (BC Dann) was a late scratching at kennelling when found with an elevated temperature and diarrhoea. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 68.26. 5 days up to and including 4 January 2009.
Race 2 CHALLENGE OPAWA ALL-UP STAKES - C0 - 520 Into the first bend the early leader BOTANY SHELLEY moved outwards and checked HOMEBUSH MARS before colliding into OHOKA DUKE. In the back straight HOMEBUSH EMILY and HOMEBUSH MARS came together several times whilst at the rear of the field and never recovered to fill the last two placings. A post race veterinary check of BOTANY SHELLEY revealed nothing amiss. KAIAPOI FIRST (RD Blackburn) stood down at meeting of Christchurch GRC on 23 December 2008. Rule 82.1. 21 days up to and including 12 January 2009. LEENY TITLE (LJ Waretini) scratched at meeting of Christchurch GRC on 23 December 2008. Rule 64.10. 28 days up to and including 19 January 2009.
Race 3 WWW.WILLYWHATATSTUD.COM SPRINT - C0 - 295 HOMEBUSH LADY and DIRT TRAK COWBOY were sloe to leave the starting boxes. Into the turn EARS CHUCK checked stride off the rear of POWER SAW and went wide, losing momentum to finish midfield.
Race 4 SOUTHERN TRUST STAKES - C0 - 520 NITRO WIGIE was slow to jump but crossed over to the front of the field into the first bend and checked NO SLEEP who struck the rear of NITRO WIGIE and went back to the rear where he stayed. HARBOUR BALE was also checked during the incident. Post race veterinary checks of HARBOUR BALE and NO SLEEP revealed no injuries sustained by either dog.
Race 5 GEORGE CALVERT CLEANING STAKES - C1 - 520 BOTANY KAREN appeared to tie up and tailed off at the rear of the field. A post race veterinary check of BOTANY KAREN revealed no injury.
Race 6 CLARKSON SIGN STUDIO STAKES - C1 - 520 Into the first bend PATTY'S GIRL was checked by OHOKA TASH who was struck by WAITUI FURY and went sideways. WITH A RHYTHM lost ground when squeezed for room into the back straight, and BABA GANOOSH checked off MR BONZALAS into the path of WAITUI FURY who stumbled for a few strides. TIGER BALM (C Mitchell) lame right fore. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 8 January 2009.
Race 7 WWW.CONTAINERSDIRECT.CO.NZ DISTANCE - C0d - 645 All clear. JACKALICIOUS (SR Fagan) stood down at Christchurch GRC meeting on 23 December 2008. Rule 82.1. 21 days up to and including 12 January 2009. LOCHINVAR VUITON (MM Grant) was a late scratching at kennelling with dehydration. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 68.26. 10 days up to and including 9 January 2009.
Race 8 GARRARD'S HORSE AND HOUND DASH - SPECAf - 295 Into the turn WILLY ECHO crossed over and checked the running of AMBERSMOOTH with resultant checks to NOT A WHATA and FOUL PLAY. Around the turn WILLY ECHO and PRAISE BE came together several times and lost momentum. ZIGGY WAR CRY (C Mitchell) retired. HISTORICAL (RD Blackburn) in season. Rule 64.10. 28 days up to and including 27 January 2009.
Race 9 WWW.GREYHOUNDTIPS.CO.NZ STAKES - SPECAf - 520 All clear. APACHE MOHAWK (R Adcock) deceased. CHILE COMMAND (GA Cleeve) stood down at meeting of Christchurch GRC on 23 December 2008. Rule 82.1. 28 days up to and including 19 January 2009. BANKSIDE LASS (R Adcock) bitch returned to owners K Lawrence/S Lockett following nomination. Rule 64.5. 28 days up to and including 23 January 2009. GEMMA'S COUNTRY (GJ Hodson) right hip pain. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 14 days up to and including 11 January 2009.
Race 10 FAREWELL 2008 DASH - SPECAf - 295 Into the turn KNOW DESIRE moved outwards and checked the running of ROSIE RETURN who went back and checked KNOW GOOD and REMUS.
