Judicial report: Weather: Raining DL Roberts, the trainer of AILIE BALE, a starter in Race 9, was fined $50 under Rule 69.11 when the dog weighed in at 31.0kg which was 1.2kg above her last race start weight of 29.8kg on 1 December 2008.
An enquiry under Rule 43.7 was opened and adjourned into the nomination of CARNABY (RD Blackburn) into race 6 a Class 1 event.

Into the turn THRILLING JAZZ crossed over and struck MUM'S REFLECTION with a resulting check to HOMEBUSH ASTRID. A post race veterinary check on BRAVE ENDEAVOUR revealed left gracilus pain with a 7 day stand down recommended. BRAVE ENDEAVOUR (A Hart & K Taylor) left gracilus pain. | Race 2 | CHALLENGE OPAWA ALL-UP STAKES - C1 - 520 | CLAN DESPERADO was very slow to jump and last into the first turn, but got a rails run through to third in the back straight and held on. In the run to the first turn KNOW SPIRIT checked off MOUNT RILEY and then on the first turn checked off DANCING JAZZY before running on late for 5th. |
| Race 3 | DAVE ROBBIE PHOTOGRAPHER DASH - C0 - 295 | HOMEBUSH LADY was slow to jump. Shortly after the jump TICKLE TOE ran inwards and struck OSWALD BOATENG and then went wide following general tightening in the run to the turn. Into the bend STUMPY RELTUB moved outwards with WILLY'S PRIDE clipping the heels of that dog, but recovering to finish strongly and win. |
| Race 4 | DUVAUCHELLE HOTEL SPRINT - C1 - 295 | From the jump BOTOX BARBIE pushed outwards and checked the running of MISS WICKLOW. Into the bend NOSE MY TITLE moved outwards and checked the running of BOTOX BARBIE with a severe check to MISS WICKLOW who stumbled and tailed off at the rear. A post race veterinary check of MISS WICKLOW showed no injury. NITRO PEGGY was also subject to a post race veterinary check which revealed a torn left hind 2nd toe nail with a 10 day stand down recommended. | Race 6 | GEORGE CALVERT CLEANING DASH - C1 - 295 | KNOW NEED was slow to leave the boxes and finished well back. In the run to the turn SOICHIRO moved inwards and checked the running of HE'S SO FINE who finished back in 6th place. |
| Race 7 | KOLORFUL KANVAS STAKES FINAL - C1f - 520 | From the jump CRAFTY CLEEVE, GINA ROSA and UP TOWN LASS came together and settled at the rear, finishing well back. Into the home straight an improving BABA GANOOSH checked off the rear of METRO SCOOP and went back through the field to finish 7th. |
| Race 8 | GARRARD'S HORSE AND HOUND SPRINT - C0 - 295 | LIAM TITLE went up with the lids and lost several lengths. In the run to the bend NATASHA'S DUFFER crossed over in front of the field to the rail severely checking the running of LAUREN'S LEGACY which went sideways and EASY FINANCE who went down on its rear and in doing so checked the running of HOMEBUSH HAZARD. Also affected and losing ground were CAP FANTASTIC and BARBER'S GIRL. A post race veterinary check on EASY FINANCE revealed nothing amiss. |
| Race 9 | COASTER'S TAVERN STAKES - C0 - 520 | Into the first bend SLICK NOTCH moved outwards and forced VERONICA and GOLD NOTCH wide on the track with these two dogs finishing at the rear. BLUE WILLY (JM Jopson) left hock sprain. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 21 days up to and including 28 December 2008. |

On the bend BETTY BEATZER moved outwards and forced KNOW GO wide.LAGOON MONROE was subject to a post race veterinary check which revealed lameness in the left fore leg with a muscle tear and a 14 day stand down recommended. | Race 14 | CLARKSON SIGN STUDIO SPRINT - C5 - 295 | The track was checked prior to this race when handlers complained about the uneven nature of the track and the hardness of the surface. There was discussion with handlers and agreement that the race should proceed and would be reviewed. There were no incidents during the race, but dogs slid into the lure at the pull up. A post race veterinary check on GO STRAIT THREW revealed a right elbow strain with a 14 day stand down recommended. Following the race the track was again inspected and, after continual rain, the decision was made to abandon Race 15 due to conditions deteriorating and footing being deemed unsafe and injuries to dogs in the last two races.
