Race 1 OUTBACK TRADING COMPANY LTD - C0 - 375 One of the favourites WHATA ROSE was checked on the first corner losing several lengths and all chance and she finished at the rear. FLASHFIRE COAL led into the straight but was galloped on by THIRD UMPIRE and fell. THIRD UMPIRE also lost ground and the chance of a placing. TALKABOUT SUZI and WHATA ROSE both hurdled the fallen runner and lost some momentum. FLASHFIRE COAL was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury. Race 2 WIZARD HOME LOANS MAIDEN - C0 - 457 ELLABILLE ANGEL was slow to begin losing three lengths and then after making up ground she was checked on the bend and finished in 2nd last place. NOSH IN SOCKS began well but then lost ground in the run down the back straight before running on over the final stages for 6th place. LAGOON BALBOA ran wide over extra ground on the bend but finished well for 2nd place. JENNIMORE also ran ran wide over extra ground on the bend and finished last. DOIRE LASS Ex Manawatu on 24.11.08. ATHENIC Ex Manawatu on 24.11.08.
Race 3 KERB & CONCRETE SPRINT HEAT 1 - C3q - 375 Heat 1 All clear. ADAMINSKI Ex Wanganui on 21.11.08.
Race 4 DECOART PRINTED PRODUCTS, LEVIN - C4/5 - 457 CAWBOURNE KYLIE ran in from the start and bumped LAGOON FIFI who soon after collided with CAWBOURNE WOODY and they settled near the rear. CAWBOURNE WOODY then checked off the heels of THRILLING SWIFT on the first corner but recovered to finish well for 4th placing. LAGOON FIFI was also inconvenienced in the incident on the first corner and ran wide on the bend and finished in 2nd last place. CAWBOURNE KING D.Brewer Rule 64 Suffering from a carpus injury and stood down for 4 days to and including 29.11.08.
Race 5 KERB & CONCRETE SPRINT HEAT 2 - C3q - 375 Heat 1 The favourite SIROCCO RICK began a little awkwardly and settled back. He was then checked on the bend when THRILLING COLT moved out and THRILLING GYPSY was also checked at that point and she finished last with SIROCCO RICK making up some ground for 5th place. BIGTIME ROYALE D.Gough Rule 64 Suffering from toe injuries and stood down for 28 days to and including 21.12.08. BLUE DENIM Gained a start in race 3.
Race 6 THRILLING KENNELS OPEN DASH - C5 - 375 One of the favourites CAWBOURNE DORE began awkwardly and settled back. He was then tightened and checked on the first corner losing four lengths and finished in last place. THRILLING GRIT S.Gommans Rule 64 Suffering from injuries to both tensor fascia late muscles and stood down for 14 days to and including 08.12.08. THRILLING JASPER Freeman & Turnwald Rule 64 A late scratching due to suffering from acidosis and stood down for 28 days to and including 23.12.08.
Race 7 MANAWATU SOUND SERVICE - C1 - 375 The favourite CAWBOURNE OPAL began well and led to the first corner but when moving in was galloped on and lost four lengths. He then recovered to run on for 4th placing. THRILLING DUTCH, UNO THE HISTORY and NEW BEGINNING were all checked in the incident and they never recovered and finished in the last three places.
Race 8 PORTER HIRE PALMERSTON NORTH - C1 - 375 CATHY'S CHARGE was slow to begin but ran on quite well in the straight for 5th placing. BILL THE LAWYER, LITTLE GYMNIST and SKIPPER LADY jostled for several stides in the race to the first corner and they ran wide on the bend and finished in the last three places. The winner CAWBOURNE ACE was observed to be lame after the race and was examined by the Vet and stood down for 10 days with a pectoral muscle injury. YES MISS B.Hunt Rule 64 Suffering from a wrist injury and stood down for 28 days to and including 22.12.08. CAWBOURNE ACE D.Brewer Rule 82 Suffered a pectoral muscle injury and stood down for 10 days to and including 05.12.08.
Race 9 WENHAM GRAIN & SEED - C1 - 375 THRILLING LARK was slow to begin losing three lengths but ran on well for 4th placing. BRITNEY BEERS and TAKE COVER were near the lead on the bend but both were checked and dropped back to finish in the rear group. MAD DECISION B.Hunt Rule 64 Suffering from a wrist injury and stood down for 28 days to and including 22.12.08. Papers to be endorsed and Vet certificate supplied.
Race 10 LEVIN CLASSIC AT OTAKI ON FRIDAY - C1 - 457 The well supported LAGOON GROVE was a little slow to begin but then ran on well for 2nd placing. WINSOME NERO Freeman & Turnwald Rule 64 Suffering from a spike injury and stood down for 7 days to and including 01.12.08. CAWBOURNE WELLSY Freeman & Turnwald Rule 64 Suffering from a quadricep muscle injury and stood down for 14 days to and including 08.12.08
