Judicial report: Weather: fine & showers G M Clarke admitted a charge under rule 111.6 in that one of his dogs escaped from his vehicle during the running of race three ,and was captured in the public area and returned to his care
A fine of $50.00 was imposed .

Race 1	DESTINATION MANAWATU SPRINT - C0 - 375	As the field left the boxes TAINUI came across on to POWER OF ZEN and they jostled together for a couple of strides. KINGDOM LAD got away from the boxes with the field,then began to drift out to the rear of the field and was not attempting to pursue the lure and finished in last position some distance behind the other runners KINGDOM LAD was examined by the veterinary surgeon where no abnormalities were found KINGDOM LAD was stood down for 28 days for not pusuing the lure and must trial in the presence and to the satisfaction of the Stipndiary stewards before being nominated to race again. KINGDOM LAD B O'Connell failing to pursue the lure Rule 80.1b. 28 days stand down to and including 21.12.08. is required to undergo a satisfactory trial or trials in the presence and to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary stewards before being nominated to race again
Race 2	OUTBACK TRADING COMPANY LTD - C0 - 457	ATHENIC and DOIRE LASS were slow to leave the boxes and never took part in the race througout the journey these two dogs were not attempting to pursue the lure finishing in the last two positions some distance behind the rest of the runners Both dogs were examined by the veterinary surgeon where no abnormalities were found ATHENIC and DOIRE LASS were stood down for 28 days for not pursuing the lure and must trial in the presence and to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary stewards before being nominated to race again----------. Race 3	BILL BOYD & ASSOCIATES - C1 - 375	CALYPSO RUMBLE (fav) left the boxes awkwardly going down on his haunches ,losing ground at this point ,and in endevouring to make ground had to race wide around the top bend and ran on for third placing at the post HOT SPICEY BOY was a late scratching prior to race one on veterinary advice. This dog was re-examined at the stewards request after consultation with the trainer due to concerns that the dog may have ingested a large amount of feed that may have an effect on his performance HOT SPICEY BOY was found to be suffering from(over engorgement resulting in prolonged abdominal tenderness ) and has been stood down for 7 days HOT SPICEY BOY D Parata Late scratching prolonged abdominal tenderness Rule 68.26. 7 days stand down to and including 30.11.08.
Race 4	DELTA DRAINAGE & WATER SERVICES - C1 - 375	As the field raced down to the first turn there was pressure from the outside dogs resulting in NO WARNING and KID DELANEY having to check back where they lost some ground at that point KID DELANEY recovered well to finish in 3rd position at the post TIZZY LEE BUCKET was very slow away from the boxes ,but made up good ground late to finish in 4th position at the post------. .
Race 5	GRANT IRVINE PHARMACY - C1/2 - 375	Soon after the start ther was tightning and jostling to THRILLING RANGER and MODERN WINDOW (fav) as HEALING CRYSTAL came across them towards the rail MODERM WINDOW received a good run up through the field to run in to 2nd position at the post BLUE WATCH raced wide in to the first bend and across the top costing him a lot of extra ground in the running. THRILLING BLAKE was a scratching due to a claw bed injury----------. THRILLING BLAKE D Parata injury to claw bed on right front dog presented vet cert supplied Rule 64.12. 21 days stand down to and including 12.12.08.
Race 6	W&E CAVANAGH LTD - C1/2 - 457	LAGOON GROVE was slow away from the boxes, made up good ground through the field to finish in 2nd position at the post CATCHING ON was a late scratching at kennelling due to triceps muscle injury SUZY MAC was a scratching due to a toe injury----------. SUZY MAC A & J Hall digit 5 left front injury dog presented vet cert supplied Rule 64.12. 20 days stand down to and including 12.12.08. CATCHING ON D Brewer Late scratching injury to right triceps muscle Rule 68.26.14 days stand down to and including 7.12.08.
Race 7	DECOART PRINTED PRODUCTS, LEVIN - C5 - 375	AUSTIN and COOL AUSSIE came together at the start ,which cost them a couple of lengths at that point----------.
Race 8	WIZARD HOME LOANS - C5 - 457	As the field raced down to the first turn there was tightning between several runners resulting in JIMMY HALL coming in to contact with CHARLI'S ECHO and turning her sideways and she went went back through the field and finished in last position at the post
Race 9	GEON WELLINGTON - C3/4 - 375	SIROCCO RICK was slow away from the boxes which cost him a chance of finishing closer Soon after leaving the boxes there was tighning and jostling between DOUBLE HAPPY ,ZETA JONES and WHERE'S WHIZ for several strides, resulting in WHERE'S WHIZ almost hitting the rail,he recovered to be beat by the narrowist of margins on the line . ZETA JONES was never able to get in to contention after the interference at the start and finished in last position at the line.
Race 10	HERE AGAIN WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON - C3/4 - 457	FANCY BEAR (fav) got away well at the start ,raced in a handy position to the home turn, had to change ground around a runner at that point ,then drifted out and finished in last position at the post. A veterinary examination found no abnormalities The handler of FANCY BEAR was spoken to in relation to the dogs performance ,and the stewards were advised that the dog had not raced for two and a half weeks and that he considered the 457 metres at the Manawatu track was beyond the dogs conditioning today-- Soon after the start WINSOME CRUISER came across on to FANCY BEAR for a stride ,then CAWBOURNE WOODY came over on to WINSOME CRUISER who had to check back off his heels , WINSOME CRUISER then went across to the rail where he finshed on well for 4th placing at the line--------.
