Hatrick Raceway ON FRIDAY 21 Nov 2008

Weather:
Track: Good Firm
Scales: Correct at all weights
Health and Safety comment: Nil

Judicial report: Weather: Fine Payments of dividends was held up after race 2 and an inquiry was held into the fact that a lead had been tangled on the hind leg of ZETA JONES when the field jumped from the boxes. After questioning the starter, the handler and viewing video films, the Stewards were of the opinion that the only runner affected was ZETA JONES and the payment of dividends was authorized. The dogs handler Mrs Gough was advised that she should exercise more care in future and in reaching the decision not to charge her, the Stewards took into account her excellent record of never being charged in the past and the fact that she was having problems in loading ZETA JONES.

Incident Reports

Race Number Race Name Incident Report
Race 1 ALLIED WORK FORCE 0800 LABOUR - C2 - 305 One of the favourites MODERN WINDOW was the slowest away and was wide from box 8 but made up ground to finish in 5th place. After the start there was jostling for several strides between RYMOR REASON, DEL TONES and BLUE WATCH and they lost ground and finished in the last three places. MODERN WINDOW contributed to the bumping when making a forward move on the outside.
Race 2 GUTHRIE BOWRON,WANGANUI - C3 - 305 When the start was made ADAMINSKI bumped with ZETA JONES twice and it was then observed that there was a lead somehow attached to ZETA JONES and it did not come loose until the first corner. It could not be conclusively established that the lead on ZETA JONES had anything to do with the injury. Payment of dividends was held up until inquiries into the matter were completed. The Handler of ZETA JONES Mrs C.Gough was questioned and confirmed that she was having difficulty boxing the dog and she dropped the lead and it was, unbeknown to her, obviously dragged into the box when ZETA JONES was boxed away.
