Race 1 ALLIED WORK FORCE 0800 LABOUR - C1 - 305 The meeting was put back three races for the entire programme due to an electrical fault which occurred during the trials after kennelling and an electrician was summoned to rectifiy the problem and it took some time for him to make those repairs. EMILY BREEZE was observed to be bleeding from a cut leg after the race and was examined by the Vet but no stand down was required.
Race 2 MICKEYS SUPER LIQUOR - C1/2 - 520 One of the favourites UPAHUT SLAYER was away well but was checked on the first turn and lost ground. She was checked again on the final bend and entering the home straight and finished in 2nd last place. BIGTIME WORLD was also checked on the first corner and checked off the heels of UPAHUT SLAYER on the home turn and finished in last place. CAWBOURNE WILKO Ex Manawatu on 12.11.08.
Race 3 GARY ROSS DECORATOR - C0 - 305 PETITE ROSE was slow to begin and then ran wide on the bend over extra ground and finished in last place. TALKABOUT SUZI was jostled for several strides in the race to the first corner losing ground and she stayed back to the finish.
Race 4 GUTHRIE BOWRON WANGANUI - C0 - 520 RAMA DING DONG, SEDGEBROOK WILL and PURE FURY were slow to begin and they stayed back to finish in the last three places. BOLTS BOLTED Udy & McCracken Rule 82 Suffered a spike wound and stood down for 5 days to and including 21.11.08.
Race 5 KEENAN CONCRETE - C0 - 305 THIRD UMPIRE was slow to begin and then ran on the heels of PRINCESS CHOLET in the race to the first corner, ran wide on the bend and finished in last place. PRINCESS CHOLET also lost ground in the incident and finished in 2nd last place.
Race 6 WWW.WANGANUICARCENTRE.COM - C1 - 305 BRITNEY BEERS ran in from the start and checked SEDGEBROOK SKY, I'M INFECTIOUS and THRILLING TURN who all lost ground. HOMEBUSH TERRA moved in approaching the first corner and caused checks to GOES SCIROCCO and THRILLING TURN and they never recovered and finished near the rear.
Race 7 GEON WELLINGTON - C1 - 305 WHISPERING HOME and KIWI GEORGE bumped together soon after the start and again on the bend and WHISPERING HOME lost several lengths at that point and finished last. WHISPERING HOME appeared to be slightly sore and was examined by the Vet and stood down for 7 days with a hip muscle injury. WHISPERING HOME D.Kettlewell Rule 82 Checked and suffered a hip support muscle injury and stood down for 7 days to and including 23.11.08.
Race 8 WANGANUI FARM SUPPLIES - C3/4 - 520 The reasonably well supported last start winner COOL AUSSIE began awkwardly and was last to the first corner and never improved finishing in last place. COOL AUSSIE was examined by the Vet as a precautionary measure and stood down for 4 days with cramp. FATHER FIGURE was held up for a few strides on the final bend but when in the clear finished well to deadheat for 3rd place. PAYTON BALE J.Woolston-Bell Rule 82 Suffered a webbing injury and stood down for 14 days to and including 30.11.08. COOL AUSSIE D.Brewer Rule 82 Suffered from cramp and stood down for 4 days to and including 20.11.08.
Race 9 PETER SINCLAIR PHOTOGRAPHER - C3/4 - 305 The favourite BIGTIME THUNDER raced wide on the track from box 8 and lost ground on the bend when racing onto the heels of SHARIMORE and he finished in 5th place. FINAL EPISODE ran onto the heels of CRYSTAL SAL approaching the home straight and they lost ground and finished at the rear.
Race 10 MORRIE GIBBONS SIGNS - C1 - 520 LIFE BECKONS was checked on the first corner and ran wide losing ground. SEDGEBROOK GOLD and CAWBOURNE CROWN collided starting on the final bend and lost ground with SEDGEBROOK GOLD the most affected. CAWBOURNE CROWN was observed to mar LAGOON GROVE on the home turn and BIGTIME MILLY and LIFE BECKONS were also hindered in the incident. CAWBOURNE CROWN was examined by the Vet who found a toe injury requiring a 21 day stand down. However the marring Rule 80.1 a. required CAWBOURNE CROWN to be stood down for 28 days to and including 14.12.08 and to trial under Rule 81.1 MOST EXCUSED L.Ahern Rule 64 A late scratching due to a communication misunderstanding between the Trainer and the Club. The dog was already stood down on 14.11.08. CAWBOURNE CROWN D.Brewer Rule 80.1 a Marred another runner and stood down for 28 days to and including 14.12.08
Race 11 WANGANUI SECURITY SERVICES - C1/2 - 305 The favourite WACK was away only fairly and was then checked and pushed wide over extra ground on the bend and finished in last place. The Trainer N.Clark advised that WACK is to be retired. BIGTIME LASS Ex Wanganui on 14.11.08.
Race 12 THE RADIO WORKS 6 PACK - C3/4 - 305 ADAMINSKI was slow to begin and stayed back to finish in 2nd last place. KARISAMORE ran wide over extra ground on the bend and finished in last place.
