Judicial report: Weather: Fine SR FAGAN was fined $100.00 for a breach of Rule 69.11 as a result of MAXWELL COOL, a starter in Race 9 weighing in 1.7kgs over his last race start weight.
SR FAGAN was fined $50.00 for a breach of Rule 69.11 as a result of JOELSON, a starter in Race 10 weighing in 1.4kgs over his last race start weight.
An inquiry was opened and adjourned into the scratching of all dogs trained by AC ROBERTS under Rules 64.2 and 64.5. pending further inquiries.

Race 1 ADDED ENERGY WELCOME - C0 - 457 WILLY JUNIOR was slow to jump settling a clear last. Into the bend BLOOMING MABEL eased when near the lead in the centre of the track drifting through the field to finish last. Approaching the home turn IMA BLUES BOY was observed to ease when near the lead and did so again short of the finish line when clearly in the lead. Both BLOOMING MABEL and IMA BLUES BOY were subject to veterinary checks. Nothing was found amiss with BLLOMING MABEL and she was stood down for 28 days under Rule 80.1.b. IMA BLUES BOY was found to have lameness in the triceps of the left fore with the veterinarian recommending a 5 day stand down. IMA BLUES BOY was stood down for 28 days under Rule 80.1.b. OFF THE RAILS (RD Blackburn) was a late scratching at kennelling with diarrhoea. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 68.26. 5 days up to and including 7 November 2008. BLOOMING MABEL (M&J Hill) Rule 80.1.b. 28 days up to and including 30 November 2008 and to undertake a satisfactory trial. Race 2 BRENDON BURKE @ SOUTHERN WIDE - C1 - 390 In the run to the corner HOMEBUSH MARLON moved outwards and checked the running of ETOILE NOIR, with LES BAXTER striking that dog's hindlegs. LES BAXTER lost all chance and he was examined by the veterinary surgeon who found nothing amiss.
Race 3 WWW.SOUTHLANDGREYHOUNDS.CO.NZ - C2 - 390 JACKALICIOUS was slow to jump. Into the corner BELL ROXON was tightened by ANOTHER MANGLES as he drove to the lead losing ground. BEAUTIFUL MOMENT was squeezed between dogs soon after the jump and ran wide around the bend losing ground.
Race 4 WILLIAM LYNN STAKES - C1 - 390 KNOW SPORTY and DA COOLA came together around the bend losing ground to finish at the rear. SMART SHARMILA (RD Blackburn) was a late scratching at kennelling with diarrhoea. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 68.26. 5 days up to and including 7 November 2008.
Race 5 ILT SPEIGHTS ALE HOUSE - C1 - 390 THRILLING EADIE ran out after jumping checking BOB BAXTER. BRAVE ENDEAVOUR ran wide around the bend losing ground. HAILSTONE HARLY struck the heels of NIKOS PORSCHE losing all chance. CARNABY (RD Blackburn) was a late scratching at kennelling with diarrhoea. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 68.26. 5 days up to and including 7 November 2008. QUEEN FALCON (AC Roberts) vehicle failure. Rule 64.5 subject to conformation of breakdown.
Race 6 OSBORNE ENGINEERING BLUFF - C2 - 390 NITRO PEGGY ran out and CHARTERIS BAY ran inwards soon after the jump tightening ALECIA RELTUB and SOICHIRO who both lost ground. BABA GANOOSHB (AC Roberts) vehicle failure. Rule 64.5 subject to confirmation of breakdown.
Race 7 LONESTAR CAFE & BAR - C2/3 - 390 CHILE COMMAND clipped the heels of NORTH INGILLTAB into the corner. Approaching the home straight the leader MOST ROYAL moved outwards with a trailing FIVE ACROSS clipping his heels and lost ground. They finished 3rd and 4th respectively. ZAMMY (RD Blackburn) was a late scratching at kennelling with diarrhoea. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 68.26. 5 days up to and including 7 November 2008.
Race 8 NZRS GRADUATION FINAL - RESf - 457 PARANOVA jumped awkwardly from the inside box and into the bend came in contact with TRUSTEE when both were racing at the rear.
Race 9 $22 MUZZLE STAKES - C1 - 457 In the run to the turn MAXWELL COOL checked off the rear of PALEFACE SHADOW with both dogs giving ground to finish back in the field. SASSY DIAMOND (AC Roberts) vehicle failure. Rule 64.5 subject to confirmation of breakdown. SWISH BALE (AC Roberts) vehicle failure. Rule 64.5 subject to confirmation of breakdown.
Race 10 SOUTHLAND TIPPING COMPETITION - C3/4 - 457 The winner BAXTER'S GENERAL ran in after the jump tightening SPACE HOPPER and NITRO MARTA both losing ground. SMART JOSEPHINE was tightened by BAXTER'S GENERAL as he drove to the lead into the corner. GROOVIN'BAIN (AC Roberts) vehicle failure. Rule 64.5 subject to confirmation of breakdown. BANDANNA LEE (SR Fagan) sore abdomen. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 4 days up to and including 5 November 2008.
