Judicial report: Weather: Overcast J&D FAHEY were fined $50.00 for a breach of Rule 69.11 when SENSATIVE HARRY, a starter in Race 7 weighed in 1.3kgs under his race start weight.
MM GRANT was fined $50.00 for a breach of Rule 69.11 when LAUGARNO DENNIS, a starter in Race 11 weighed in 1.1kgs under his last race start weight.
JT McINERNEY was charged with a breach under Rules 64.2, 64.5 and 88.1.q in relation to the scratching of SATAN'S PLOT, an acceptor in Race 13. His representative Johnathon McInerney pleaded not guilty to the charges. Evidence was heard from the Club Secretary, Mrs BA Eade into the circumstances surrounding the scratching. After McInerney summed up a defence to the charges, the Adjudicating Steward elected to adjourn the matter pending further investigation.

Race 1	ASCOT PARK WELCOME - C0 - 390	HOMEBUSH WHEET crossed DASHER'S GIRL soon after the jump both losing ground and finishing at the rear. CHESTNUT (R Adcock) was a late scratching at kennelling with kennel cough. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 68.26. 7 days up to and including 29 October 2008.
Race 2	ADDED ENERGY - C1 - 390	ROBTITLE came up with the lids. Soon after ROBTITLE, FIRM OFFER and AGENT BOND came together. Into the bend an improving ROBTITLE checked ANOTHER JENNY who lost ground. ROBTITLE who was a post race swab dog was found with an abrasion to his forehead by the club veterinarian with no stand down recommended., HAILSTONE ANGEL (JT McInerney) kennel cough. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 5days up to and including 26 October 2008. BOY BUGLER (JF Allen) withdrawn under Rule 63.10. No penalty.
Race 3	NZRS GRADUATION SERIES HEAT 1 - RESq - 457 Heat 1	KNOW NEED was very slow to jump settling a clear last before running on for 3rd. ELITE BAXTER (JT McInerney) kennel cough and left hind web tear. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 5 days up to and including 26 October 2008. ANOTHER KERRY (JT McInerney) skin laceration to right hind hock. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 5 days up to and including 26 October 2008.
Race 4	OSBORNE ENGINEERING, BLUFF - C1 - 390	The lure would not move at the start of this race resulting in the dogs being removed from the boxes. There appeared to be a fault in the rail and when the lure was moved a short distance it operated satisfactorily. The dogs were again loaded away and the race commenced without problem. Into the bend QUEEN FALCON moved away from the rail as WORDS OF WISDOM drove around tge outside to the lead, tightening HAILSTONE HARLY racing between them. He went back on SWEET PAPOOSE and CLASSICAL GAS who both lost ground. Following the event the starter was advised of his obligations in terms for removing the dogs from the boxes in a prompt manner. The club curator advised that the fault appeared to be within the electrics of the rail, and he was arranging for a thorough electrical check prior to the next meeting.
Race 5	NZRS GRADUATION SERIES HEAT 2 - RESq - 457 Heat 1	After the jump CONTINUE mowed inwards and tightened IMA BLUES BOY who lost ground. Soon after he came in contact with KNOW BEST who was checked to last as a result. Turning for home IMA BLUES BOY checked out off THRILLING EADIE when racing near the rear.
Race 6	$22 MUZZLE STAKES - C2/3 - 390	WHISKY BOY jumped awkwardly from the inside box to settle near the rear. Soon after the jump CAWBOURNE BURST ran in and checked MICRO DOTTIE. OLD MATE BOB ran down to the rail and tightened BEAUTIFUL MOMENT who lost ground. Into the bend WORLD WARNING moved outwards colliding with CAWBOURNE BURST, also checking ANOTHER MANGLES on his outer. Into the home straight WORLD WARNING improved inside FAST HAND who was forced sideways losing momentum.
Race 7	BRENDON BURKE @ SOUTHERN WIDE - C2 - 457	All clear. SHAKIN' MARTINI (GA Cleeve) on antibiotics for an infected leg. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 28 October 2008.
Race 8	ILT SPEIGHTS ALE HOUSE - C1 - 457	SWISH BALE and FROSTY BLONDE were slow to jump. Soon after the jump SASSY DIAMOND and the favourite METRO SCOOP came together with METRO SCOOP stumbling and falling. He regained his feet to finish last. Into the bend BABA GANOOSH and an improving FROSTY BLONDE came together both losing ground. METRO SCOOP was subject to a veterinary examinatuion which revealed no injury. KNOW SPORTY (GA Cleeve) wart on right hind web. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 4 days up to and including 25 October 2008.
Race 9	SOUTHLAND TIPPING COMPETITION - C3 - 390	BOY GENIUS ran in after the start tightening ALECIA RELTUB and THRILLING BECKY both losing all chance.
Race 10	WAXY O'SHEAS IRISH PUB - C4 - 390	DANCE FOR DANNY and AWESOME DEEJAY were slow to leave the boxes finishing at the rear. HAILSTONE HERB (JT McInerney) left triceps pain. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 14 days up to and including 4 November 2008. CAWBOURNE SAM (MM Grant) leg hind leg injury. Rule 64.14. 28 days up to and including 18 November 2008. BAXTER'S GENERAL (JT McInerney) withdrawn under Rule 63.10. No penalty.
Race 11	WILLIAM LYNN STAKES - C4/5 - 390	LAUGARNO DENNIS was squeezed soon after the jump settling last. WHISKY LEE GIRL (JT McInerney) stood down at Christchurch GRC meeting on 21 October 2008. Rule 82.1. 7 days up to and including 27 October 2008.
Race 12	WWW.SOUTHLANDGREYHOUNDS.CO.NZ - C3/4 - 457	WINSOME MERC and GROOVIN'BAIN were tightened soon after the jump. Into the bend ASAFA BALE checked out off WINSOME FLYER as that dog drove to the lead. RIPPING THE DEW (R Adcock) leg hind muscle injury. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 31 October 2008. BILLY BAXTER (JT McInerney) withdrawn under Rule 63.10. No penalty.
Race 13	LONESTAR CAFE & BAR - C5 - 457	MICK BAXTER, AUSSIE OPAWA, FRENCH INVADER and FANTA CLAWS came together soon after the jump. CAPTAIN BRUCE who led into the bend was tightened by an improving DREAMY HAZE and IN TOM'S MEMORY coming back on an improving AUSSIE OPAWA. ROMAN HOME (JT McInerney) stood down at Christchurch GRC meeting on 21 October 2008. Rule 82.1. 7 days up to and including 27 October 2008. SATAN'S PLOT (JT McInerney) scratching subject to a judicial hearing.
