Judicial report: Weather: Fine Trainer TA Green was fined $50.00 for a breach of Rule 69.11 when DELLACQUA weighed in at 29.4 kgs which was 1.2 kgs under her last race weight on 25 September 2008.
Handler M Smith was reminded of his obligations when his runner a dog in Race 8.

Race 1 | BROWNZY SPORTS BAR SPRINT - C0 - 318 | ONSET ran outwards when in tight quarters after fifty metres and came into contact with THRILLING PLAY who lost ground. Into the bend THRILLING LEO and ELITE FITNESS came together and THRILLING PLAY again was checked appearing to brush the rail. ELITE FITNESS checked wide at this stage taking THRILLING LEO with it and both dogs lost their chances. ONSET received a check as ROLL UP crossed it on that turn. Post race veterinary checks of THRILLING PLAY and ELITE FITNESS revealed a quadriceps muscle injury to THRILLING PLAY with a seven day stand down recommended while ELITE FITNESS received an injury to the pectoral muscle and was euthanased. THRILLING PLAY (GB Darcy) distal left quadriceps muscle injury. Rule 82.1. 7 days up to and including 15 October 2008. ELITE FITNESS (JR Nixon) injury to pectoral muscle. Dog euthanased. |
Race 2 | THE ALAMO BAR & GRILL SIX PACK - C1/2 - 318 | NICE CHOICE was very slow to jump and THRILLING RIDDLE was also slow. It was reported that the speakers at those boxes were very loud with the dogs possibly having difficulty hearing the lure. The level of sound was turned down after this race. On the home turn COMICAL ALI clipped the back of BIGTIME TEDDY and fell. A post race veterinary check of COMICAL ALI revealed abrasions and bruising with a five day stand down recommended. COMICAL ALI (GJ Noakes) abrasions and bruising after fall. Rule 82.1. 5 days up to and including 13 October 2008. |
Race 3 | CAROL'S TABS SPRINT SERIES - C1 - 318 | THRILLING ROMEO, BREATHLYSE ME and THRILLING SYD all came together soon after the jump settling rearwards. Soon after this GOLD FOOT was tightened and her hind leg appeared to hit the running rail. GOLD FOOT then ran outwards checking THRILLING ROMEO and BIGTIME SNOWIE. On the home turn THRILLING SYD and THRILLING ROMEO were both checked as BIGTIME SNOWIE crossed to the rail in front of them when all dogs were racing at the rear. Post race veterinary checks revealed no injury to GOLD FOOT but BIGTIME SNOWIE received a fractured tail with a fourteen day stand down recommended. FAST STASS (DD Schofield) kennel cough. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and inluding 18 October 2008. BIGTIME SNOWIE (GN Pomeroy) fractured tail. Rule 82.1. 14 days up to and including 22 October 2008. |
Race 4 | MEADOWSET GRAPHICS STAKES - C1/2 - 527 | HUCKY HUCK checked outwards into the first bend with SUZIE THE FLUZY and KIMMY'S DIVA being pushed wide and losing ground around that bend. Shortly after this FLY BEAU checked outwards off the heels of ROYALE ROSE and lost ground. FLY BEAU made good ground for third. |
Race 5 | CAROL'S TABS SPRINT SERIES - C1 - 318 | The pacemakers WINSOME SKY and TRIAL BAY appeared to come together into the bend with TRIAL BAY losing a few lengths. TRIAL BAY recovered to run second. |
Race 6 | INTERISLANDER SPRINT - C4 - 318 | THRILLING POWER was slow to jump running on well for fourth. CROWDED HOUSE, BIGTIME NEV and SYDENHAM SMITH were all tightened as WINSOME NOVA crossed to the rails after fifty metres. SYDENHAM SMITH received a bad check with his back legs coming into contact with the running rail and he dropped to the rear. A post race veterinary check of SYDENHAM SMITH revealed slight quadriceps soreness with a two day stand down recommended. SYDENHAM SMITH (SP Clark) mild quadriceps injury. Race 7 | PROTECTOR SAFETY STAKES - C3/4 - 527 | REAL CLASSIC began quickly from the outside and tightened WINSOME JESS, SHE'S TOO COOL and THANK YOU JIM for a stride in the run to the first bend. |
Race 8 | JACK'S WHOLESALE MEATS SPRINT - C2/3 - 318 | WACK came together with HOMEBUSH JENNA into the bend and dropped to the rear where he stayed. Just prior to the home turn BIGTIME LEGEND was tightened and stumbled for a stride losing his chance. |
Race 9 | RODEWALD HART BROWN SPRINT - C5 - 318 | AGENT VICKI bumped twice with KEROMA ASSASSIN soon after the jump and ran inwards tightening CAWBOURNE CATHY, MISS EILEEN and THRILLING GERT as a result with these dogs all losing some ground. GO NOW (SP Clark) torn gracilis muscle. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 21 days up to and including 28 October 2008. LONGFORD ANNIE (NP Green) in season. Rule 64.10. 28 days up to and including 5 November 2008. |
Race 10 | CAROL'S TABS SPRINT SERIES - C1 - 318 | THANK YOU SEAS went up with the lids settling last and staying there. Favourite FANCY SPIDER was slow away and held up for room across the top. He ran on late for fifth. |
