Race 1 BROWNZY SPORTS BAR SERIES - C0q - 318 Heat 1 THRILLING IDOL was slow to jump and remained well back throughout. QUEEN LIZZY and ANYTHING FITZ bumped for a stride soon after the jump with QUEEN LIZZY losing a length. LOONEY MAGIC (K&C Munday) kennel cough. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 14 days up to and including 17 October 2008. DAD'S GIFT (JR Udy) acidosis. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 13 October 2008.
Race 2 LECTRO HAIR & BEAUTY SPRINT - C2 - 318 BIGTIME TEDDY jumped well and crossed quickly from an outside draw tightening ELLA JADE, THRILLING SNOW, MAD DECISION and HOMEBUSH KING with these four dogs all losing ground and their chances.
Race 3 BROWNZY SPORTS BAR SERIES - C0q - 318 Heat 1 THRILLING WORLD checked outwards off THRILLING JIM into the bend coming together with RAPID FOOT with both dogs losing ground. ONSET was tightened into the bend and settled well back. CARIBBEAN JACK (K&C Munday) kennel cough. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 14 days up to and including 17 October 2008. Race 4 THORNTON AUCTIONS SPRINT - C5 - 318 THRILLING GAME and WAITAK THUNDER were both slow to jump. LONGFORD ANNIE ran outwards on the home turn and came into contact with GO NOW. GO NOW then made contact with the hindquarters of LONGFORD ANNIE turning this runner. These two dogs continued to race close together down the straight. A head on replay of the home straight confirmed that no contact was made and that neither dog had turned its head and a post race veterinary check of LONGFORD ANNIE revealed no injury.
Race 5 $25,000 PICK6 SPRINT - C1 - 318 STREET TALL, YES MISS and favourite BEACH STREET were all tightened soon after the jump with BEACH STREET hitting the rail as she ran to the bend. BEACH STREET finished last with a post race veterinary check revealing quadriceps bruising with a seven day stand down recommended. SERGEANT SCREAM (G Calverley) left hip support myositis. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 10 October 2008. BEACH STREET (BDF Craik) bruised quadriceps. Rule 82.1. 7 days up to and including 11 October 2008.
Race 6 PROTECTOR SAFETY SPRINT - C1 - 527 BILLY THUNDER was badly tightened into the first bend and dropped to the rear. DENNY JEWEL and THRILLING CELIA were hampered in this incident and lost ground. Following the race SATSUMA was subject to a post race veterinary check that revealed a spike wound that required sutures with a seven day stand down recommended. SATSUMA (BDF Craik) spike wound requiring sutures. Rule 82.1. 7 days up to and including 11 October 2008.
Race 7 CAROL'S TAB STAKES - C2/3 - 527 KILLER TOUCH was slow to jump running on well for fourth. AWESOME VOYAGE and BOLD JENNI came together soon after the jump while into the first bend AWESOME VOYAGE also came into contact with KIMMY'S DIVA when racing in tight quarters.
Race 8 JACK'S WHOLESALE MEATS SPRINT - C3 - 318 BIGTIME LEGEND was tightened soon after the jump and then stumbled into the bend when attempting to improve dropping to the rear. Wide on the track RIALTO MISSION and HOMEBUSH JENNA jostled for a few strides in the run to the bend. These two dogs were also both checked as BIGTIME LEGEND lost ground. SAMS RENEGADE (MJ Lozell) kennel cough. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 14 days up to and including 18 October 2008.
Race 9 PACIFIC SHEET & COIL (NZ) STAKES - C4/5 - 527 THRILLING WOLF was last into the first bend but made ground well for fourth. SUB THIRTY received a sharp check as the field raced into the back straight losing a few lengths. On the home turn FANCY CHARM and KITTY'S THUNDER came together when well back.
Race 10 THE ALAMO BAR & GRILL SIX PACK - C4/5 - 318 There was severe tightening into the bend with BLACK SPOT PRANG, STATELY CONQUEST, ROYAL ESCORT and COWBOY JAKE the worst affected initially. ROYAL ESCORT then checked outwards and clipped SAVAGE CONQUEST who fell. A post race veterinary check of SAVAGE CONQUEST revealed left gastrocnemius bruising and mild concussion with a seven day stand down recommended. COWBOY JAKE was also subject to a post race veterinary check that revealed a spike wound requiring sutures with a ten day stand down recommended. COWBOY JAKE (BDF Craik) near hind spike wound requiring sutures. Rule 82.1. 10 days up to and including 14 October 2008. SAVAGE CONQUEST (DD Schofield) left gastrocnemius bruising and mild concussion. Rule 82.1. 7 days up to and including 11 October 2008.
