Judicial report: Weather: Fine Trainer GN Pomeroy was fined $50.00 for a breach of Rule 69.11 when KINSALE LAD weighed in at 31.2 kgs which was 1.1 kgs over its last race weight on 7 September 2008.

Race 1 LEAMINGTON DISTANCE - C1/2d - 650 ROMAN LEADER dropped out free of interference into the back straight eventually turning around and meeting the rest of the field at the lure. Lure driver Erena Koroheke was commended by the stewards for her handling of the lure as this dog was running back towards it. A post race veterinary check of ROMAN LEADER revealed no injury and consequently the dog was stood down for twenty eight days under Rule 80.1.b for failing to pursue the lure. NO ILLUSIONS dropped away down the back straight and finished a long way from the placegetters. A post race veterinary check of NO ILLUSIONS revealed a strained lower back with a ten day stand down recommended. ROMAN LEADER (BDF Craik) failing to pursue the lure under Rule 80.1.b. Stood down for 28 days up to and including 22 October 2008 and must complete a satisfactory trial. NO ILLUSIONS (Mathews/Lozell) strained lower back. Rule 82.1. 10 days up to and including 4 October 2008.
Race 2 MATANGI MAIDEN - C0 - 375 LOONEY MAGIC dipped as the boxes opened and lost all chance. RAPID FOOT checked outwards off ELITE FITNESS into the bend and almost fell losing his chance. These two dogs came together on the home turn when a long way from the rest of the field. Post race veterinary checks were carried out on both dogs revealing no injuries.
Race 3 TAMAHERE DASH - C1 - 375 CREEK DIAMOND was tightened and checked into the bend dropping out to the rear. On the bend DOUBLEO TOM tried to cross in front of MOTORING MISSY but was clipped in the process and fell. A post race veterinary check of DOUBLEO TOM revealed no injury.
Race 4 RAGLAN STAKES - C2 - 457 KIND GESTURE was checked on the bend wide on the track and went back on JALISCO with both dogs losing their chances.
Race 5 TAUWHARE DASH - C1 - 375 STREET TALL crossed to the rail soon after the jump checking BIGTIME SNOWIE and GOLD FOOT who both lost ground. Soon after CAWBOURNE CARD was checked as THRILLING NIGHT crossed from its outside with CAWBOURNE CARD dropping to the rear.
Race 6 PROTECTOR SAFETY SPRINT - C4 - 375 THANK YOU JIM checked off the heels of BIGTIME NEV into the bend and jumped outwards checking BROTHER BADGER with both dogs dropping to the rear.
Race 7 SUPERIOR CHUNKY DOG ROLLS SPRINT - C2/3 - 375 EYES A TITLE appeared to slip after a stride losing five lengths.
Race 8 RACEWAY SPRINT - C5 - 375 PREMIERE STAR and KEROMA ASSASSIN were both tightened in the run to the bend and lost ground.
Race 9 DUAL CODE HERE THURSDAY 2ND OCTOBER - C1 - 457 BILLY MA'S TIP ran outwards and marred PISTOL SUNRISE into the bend with both dogs dropping out of the race. BILLY MA'S TIP was stood down for twenty eight days under Rule 80.1.a. and ordered to undertake a satisfactory trial. BILLY MA'S TIP (SP Maher) marring under Rule 80.1.a. Stood down for 28 days up to and including 22 October 2008 and must complete a satisfactory trial.
Race 10 T.A.B PUMP & AUTOMOTIVE STAKES - C4/5 - 457 RED RUSH was slow away and gradually tightened against the rail eventually hitting the rail at the end of the back straight and dropping out to last. A post race veterinary check revealed no injury.
