Judicial report: Weather: Showery Club secretary Mrs T Taylor was fined $100.00 after she admitted a breach of Rule 88.1.o in that she omitted to scratch AWESOME FOOT from Race 6 thus denying a start to another runner. AWESOME FOOT had regained the field in a feature race.
Trainer A Cleaver was fined $50.00 when NUTTY SQUIRREL weighed in at 38.4 kgs which was 1.1 kgs over its last race weight on 27 July 2008.

Race 1	LECTRO HAIR & BEAUTY SPRINT - C1 - 318	WINSOME DELUXE was awkwardly away from the inside settling last. WAIKIKA PIRATE was checked at the end of the back straight and then appeared to hit the rail when attempting to recover. A post race veterinary check revealed no injury. The winner RUNAWAY ROSCO was observed to have a cut foot after the race with a post race veterinary check that revealing a stopper pad graze and nail damage with a five day stand down recommended. RUNAWAY ROSCO (BA Hunt) grazed stopper pad and nail damage to hind digits. Rule 82.1. 5 days up to and including 21 August 2008.
Race 2	GUADA FIESTA BAR SPRINT - C3 - 318	THRILLING TASHA again proved hard to box and has now been placed on the box first list. All clear although no head on view was available. ULTIMATE DEAL (W Steele) sprained right quadriceps. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 22 August 2008. MISS EILEEN (SP Clark) lame since fall on Thursday. Carpal pain detected. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 5 days up to and including 20 August 2008.
Race 3	GREYHOUND FUNCTION CENTRE SPRINT - C4 - 318	The winner NUTTY SQUIRREL appeared to be sore on returning to the kennels. A post race veterinary check revealed accessory carpal bone ligament sprain with a ten day stand down recommended. TESS TOKAAM (NP Green) scratched at Auckland GRC on Thursday. GO BEN GO (SP Clark) right fore accessory bone ligament strain. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 25 August 2008. NUTTY SQUIRREL (A Cleaver) right fore accessory carpal bone ligament sprain. Rule 82.1. 10 days up to and including 26 August 2008.
Race 4	TROPHIES PLUS STAKES - C4/5 - 527	NIGHT ALERT dipped on the point of the turn and ducked outwards checking JUDDY and AUSSIE OPAWA who lost ground. AUSSIE OPAWA recovered to run fourth. A post race veterinary check of NIGHT ALERT revealed no injury.
Race 5	$20,000 PICK 6 - C3 - 527	All clear.
Race 6	JACK'S WHOLESALE MEATS STAKES - C1 - 527	Permission was granted to box GATLIN JEWEL first. STOLEN THUNDER dropped away in the back straight to finish a long last. A post race veterinary check revealed no injury with trainer J Udy advising that the dog has been retired from racing. THRILLING CHESS (BDF Craik) dog retired. No penalty. AWESOME FOOT (JR Nixon) starter in Race 9. Late scratching at 8.55am due to club error (see judicial).
Race 7	NZ RACING SERIES GRADUATION #2 - HEAT 1 - RESq - 527 Heat 1	PERSUASION was slow to jump. PARK RED was dragged down and turned sideways on the first bend cannoning into THRILLING NIGHT and dropping to the rear where he stayed. A post race veterinary check revealed no injury.
Race 8	TERRY RYAN TIMBER SPRINT FEATURE - C5f - 318	WAITAK THUNDER was slow to jump. SAVAGE CONQUEST was tightened in the early rush and squeezed to the rear. GO NOW (SP Clark) right calf muscle strain. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 14 days up to and including 27 August 2008.
Race 9	NZ RACING SERIES GRADUATION #2 - HEAT 2 - RESq - 527 Heat 1	CLOSE COMBAT ran outwards at the jump coming into contact with SKIP THE LABEL, WILL SHE ECHO and AWESOME FOOT. CALM RIP ran slightly outwards into the first bend and took the line of CLOSE COMBAT who checked on to favourite WILL SHE ECHO who lost ground. ARE YOU ENVIOUS (TA Green) probable insect bite left wrist. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 25 August 2008.
Race 10	THE ALAMO BAR & GRILL SIX PACK - C2 - 318	EYES A TITLE and ELLA JADE were tightened into the bend and lost ground. They both made ground later in the race. Soon after HOMEBUSH VIEW also received a check and lost her place. CATCHWORD dropped right away on the top turn and finished a long last. A post race veterinary check revealed torn gracilis left and right with a sixty day stand down recommended. CATCHWORD (NP Green) both gracilis torn. Rule 82.1. 60 days up to and including 15 October 2008.
