Judicial report: Weather: Fine Trainer GB Darcy was fined $50.00 when THRILLING NIGHT weighed in at 29.9.kgs which was 1.5 kgs over her last race weight on 24 July 2008.
Following Race 5 K Sutch-Jones the Trainer of the fourth placed dog DREAM ON CYRUS advised that he wished to dispute the third placing. After viewing the official photo finish of the race the stewards were satisfied that the correct placings had been made.

Race 1 GREYHOUND FUNCTION CENTRE SPRINT - C0 - 318 FAST STASS and WINSOME JESS bumped together soon after the jump. On the home turn GREG SMURFEE and WINSOME JESS came together and checked each other with WINSOME JESS becoming unbalanced. As WINSOME JESS got balanced again it came into contact with GREG SMURFEE'S hindquarters with both dogs losing momentum for a few strides.
Race 2 LECTRO HAIR & BEAUTY STAKES - C1 - 527 On the first bend HUCKY HUCK ran outwards when racing in tight quarters causing MILVALE BALE, BILLY THUNDER, JULIE'S LADY and BORN ENTERTAINER all to be checked out of the race. MILVALE BALE and BORN ENTERTAINER both fell at this point with post race veterinary checks revealing no injuries. FOUR WHITE SOX (G&S Hayden-Holmes) scratched due to trainer's ill-health. Rule 64.5. No penalty. TIGER INDY WOODS (G&S Hayden-Holmes) scratched due to trainer's ill-health. Rule 64.5. No penalty.
Race 3 THE ALAMO BAR & GRILL 6 PACK - C1/2 - 527 Tightening into the first bend resulted in SEXY GIRL SUTTON coming together with THRILLING RIDDLE. Wider on the track favourite STAND OUT MATT and AWESOME FOOT were also checked as a result of the movement from their inner. Shortly after this SEXY GIRL SUTTON again found trouble when attempting to recover on the inside of THRILLING RIDDLE. RED TERROR (G&S Hayden-Holmes) scratched due to trainer's ill-health. Rule 64.5. No penalty.
Race 4 THORNTON AUCTIONS SPRINT - C1 - 318 CAWBOURNE CARD and BIGTIME DANCER came into contact into the bend . On the home turn BIGTIME DANCER checked outwards off the heels of CAWBOURNE CARD when looking for room. THRILLING ELROY (GR Farrell) right calf bruising. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 18 August 2008.
Race 5 CATCH RESTAURANT SPRINT - C4 - 318 GO BEN GO stumbled after a couple of strides and lost all chance. A post race veterinary check revealed no injury. TESS TOKAAM (NP Green) was a late scratching at 8.39 am. Torn pad on left hind foot. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 14 days up to and including 27 August 2008.
Race 6 CAROL'S TABS FEATURE STAKES - C4 - 527 HOMEBUSH JENNA ran sharply inwards soon after the jump causing checks to all runners except ROYAL SQUADRON and KADDLEY. PADDY FLYIN' was the worst affected and this dog was also checked at the end of the back straight finishing last. A post race veterinary check of PADDY FLYIN' revealed metacarpal pain and and infected sand toe with a five day stand down recommended. EDDY'S GOAL (DD Schofield) stood down at Manawatu GRC. Rule 82.1. 21 days up to and including 31 August 2008. MISS AMY DRY (BDF Craik) septic toe. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 5 days up to and including 17 August 2008. PADDY FLYIN' (TA Green) metacarpo phalangeal pain and infected sand toe. Rule 82.1. 5 days up to and including 18 August 2008.
Race 7 JACK'S WHOLESALE MEATS SPRINT - C1 - 318 THANK YOU SEAS was slow to jump settling last.
Race 8 GREYHOUNDS AS PETS SPRINT - C2/3 - 318 ULTIMATE DEAL came into contact with MAGIC SPIKE soon after the jump with ULTIMATE DEAL dropping to the rear. A post race veterinary check of ULTIMATE DEAL revealed no injury. On the home turn PARK RED and BIGTIME LEGEND came together when racing in midfield.
Race 9 BROWNZY SPORTS BAR STAKES - C3 - 527 SUB THIRTY and WATCH THAT WHALE came together into the first bend. THRILLING WOLF was tightened at the entrance to the back straight losing a couple of lengths.
Race 10 PELORUS TRUST SPRINT - C5 - 318 THRILLING POWER was slow to jump. CAWBOURNE CATHY ran inwards checking COWBOY JAKE after fifty metres with COWBOY JAKE losing ground.
