HALSTROM BALE and BIGTIME ROYALE who were reasonably well supported began well but soon after dropped back to the rear, ran a little wide on the bend and finished in the last two places. The Trainer reported that HALSTROM BALE may have suffered slight cramp and he was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury. |

They collided again starting the last bend and finished in the last two places. THRILLING CHARM checked off the heels of another runner on the first corner and lost ground. |

FLEUR NOIRE recovered to run on for 3rd placing while the other two stayed back and finished at the rear. | Race 8 | WANGANUI FARM SUPPLIES - C5 - 520 | KEROMA ASSASSIN moved in on the first corner and caused checks to RIPPING THE DEW, LAGOON PHOENIX and MICK BAXTER who all lost ground. Two of the favourites PORCELAIN GIRL and COSMIC ZEUS appeared to make contact entering the back straight when racing handy to the leader and they lost ground. COSMIC ZEUS recovered to finish in 2nd place but PORCELAIN GIRL drifted out to finish in last place and she was examined by the Vet and stood down for 5 days with a spike wound on a front foot.
