HAURAKI BILL ran out from the start and checked HISTORY RETOLD who lost some ground. HISTORY RETOLD moved out on the first corner and checked HE'S A STUNNER and LITTLE TING who both lost ground and ran wide on the bend. OUR CHEETAH P.Lowen Rule 82 Suffered a wrist injury and stood down for 7 days to and including 04.08.08. |

| Race 4 | GUTHRIE BOWRON WANGANUI - C0q - 305 Heat 1 | MAJOR CHASE ran out from the start and caused checks to NO MISS and PERFECT CREEK who lost ground and they never recovered and finished well back. TE KAWA MARJ raced well back throughout and finished in last place. The Trainer R.Smith was advised that the Stewards expected TE KAWA MARJ and Mr Smiths other four runners who raced in earlier races to be more competitive in any future races. |
| Race 5 | GEON WELLINGTON - C1 - 305 | The favourite LESS THAN IDEAL jumped on terms with the other runners. However, LESS THAN IDEAL managed to get one foreleg out of the rug before jumping from the boxes and this possibly restricted its ability to stretch out correctly and she finished in 4th place. It was suspected that LESS THAN IDEAL had turned in the boxes but there was no conclusive evidence to support this and the dog was given the benefit of some doubt. SHARKY MAGOO ran out from the start and checked LARRISSA LYN who lost ground. BIGTIME ACTION and THRILLING COLE collided and lost ground in the run to the first corner. BIGTIME BEAUTY D.Gough Rule 82 Suffered a dew claw injury and stood down for 7 days to and including 04.08.08. |
| Race 6 | THE RADIO WORKS - C0d - 645 | DEBBIE BLUEFIRE and TIGER INDY WOODS were checked soon after the start and lost several lengths and they stayed back to finish in the last two places. |

WALLABY WAY suffered a puncture wound to a pad during the race and was stood down for 14 days. OUR PRICE, THRILLING SUNNY and SEDGBROOK GOLD were all checked on the first corner and lost ground. OUR PRICE dropped back several lengths and finished in last place and was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury. |

MANNIN THE WAKA was slow to begin and settled at the rear but then made up ground to finish in 5th place. MY PIGGY BANK was tightened and lost ground in the run to the first corner. PEACE ICON and PISTOL LARRY bumped together soon after the start and lost momentum for a few strides. |
