Judicial report: Weather: Fine J.Woolston-Bell was issued with a warning after he was observed to answer a phone call while waiting in the catching area when the instruction from N.Z.G.R.A is very clear that phones are to be switched off. No fine was imposed as the call was in relation to the health of a close family member.

Race 2 DELTA DRAINAGE & WATER SERVICES - C1 - 375 All clear. THRILLING CHARM McCracken & Goldsack Rule 68 A late scratching due to a tricep muscle injury and stood down for 10 days to and including 23.07.08.
Race 3 BILL BOYD & ASSOCIATES - C4 - 375 One of the favourites RED BIRD was handy to the first corner but dropped back to last on the bend and beat one home. RED BIRD was examined by the Vet and stood down for 10 days with a tricep muscle injury. SHARIMORE Ex Wanganui on 11.07.08 RED BIRD B.Cole Rule 82 Suffered a tricep muscle injury and stood down for 10 days to and including 23.07.08.
Race 4 SPARKY'S RESTAURANT & BAR - C1 - 457 THRILLING TOKEN was slow to begin but recovered to run on well for 3rd place. GO GROOVY S.Maher Rule 68 A late scratching due to hind leg swelling and stood down for 7 days to and including 20.07.08. THRILLING JOSH S.Gommans Rule 68 A late scratching due to a gracilus muscle injury and stood down for 10 days to and including 23.07.08.
Race 5 GEON WELLINGTON SPRINT FINAL - C2 - 375 DEL TONES and QUICK LAUGH were checked back to the rear on the first corner and never recovered and they finished in the rear group.
Race 6 WIZARD HOME LOANS - C4/5 - 457 SHE' TOO COOL clipped a heel and fell on the bend but was not injured. THRILLING BRUTE G & S Hayden Holmes Rule 64 Suffering from a toe injury and stood down for 28 days to and including 08.08.08. ( Vet certificate to be supplied ) GRINGO D.Schofield Rule 64 Suffering from a neck wound and stood down for 28 days to and including 09.08.08. ( Vet certificate to be supplied )
Race 7 FREEDOM PRINT & DESIGN HOUSE - C1/2 - 375 AFTERNOON DELITE was first away but faded back through the field from the first corner and in doing so, she caused checks to MISS EILEEN and THRILLING TIFF who both lost several lengths and they finished in the last three places. AFTERNOON DELITE was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury. GATE TWO G & S Hayden Holmes Rule 68 A late scratching due to a swollen neck and stood down for 28 days to and including 10.08.08.
Race 8 GRANT IRVINE PHARMACY DASH - C5 - 375 GO NOW, AUSTIN and LEERIZE bumped together on the bend and lost ground and DAPTO GLOSS who was following went off stride, appeared to suffer an injury and pulled up. Soon after, GO NOW and LEERIZE bumped together and lost momentum and they finished towards the rear. DAPTO GLOSS was examined by the Vet and euthanased due to a fractured hock. EVAMORE Ex Wanganui on 11.07.08. DAPTO GLOSS Freeman & Turnwald Rule 82 Checked and suffered a hock injury and was euthanased.
Race 9 MCENTEE EVENT HIRE - C3 - 375 LESHITA was checked on the first corner and then bumped with THRILLING RANGER on the bend and they never recovered and finished in the last two places.
Race 10 CHARLIE BOYCE, FOXTON VET - C2/3 - 457 All clear. WHAT A STORY J.Chatfield Rule 64 Now deceased.
