Race 1	ALLIED WORK FORCE 0800 LABOUR - C0 - 305	Due to a power failure 20 minutes before the scheduled start time the meeting was put back five races while repairs were carried out to a power pole fuse outside the main entrance to the racecourse. Start time: 07-05. LAST RIDE was slow to begin but then ran on reasonably well for 5th place. UNO THE HISTORY was suspected to have turned his head out towards SPARKY WIZARD and checked that runner on the first corner. However, the head on video camera malfunctioned and the incident could not be confirmed and so other than to show the Trainer the side on view, no further action could be taken.
Race 2	MICKEYS SUPER LIQUOR - C0 - 520	Start time: 06-08 TINY PRANCER and GOES SCIROCCO collided on the first corner and TINY PRANCER dropped out to last and stayed well back . GOES SCIROCCO was checked and almost fell on the first bend losing several lengths and he finished last.
Race 3	GARY ROSS DECORATOR - C1 - 305	Start time: 06-28. LARRISSA LYN was checked and lost ground in the race to the first corner. The favourite THRILLING BLAKE and THRILLING CHARM were checked on the first corner, went back to the rear and stayed back to finish in the rear group. ALAMEIN FATS Ex Manawatu on 07.07.08. Was a late scratching due to a communication breakdown between the Trainer and the Club.
Race 4	GUTHRIE BOWRON WANGANUI - C1 - 520	Start time: 06-47. SWEET PAPOOSE was jostled several times in the run around the first bend and dropped back to last but then ran on reasonably well for 4th place. MAXWELL COOL Ex Wanganui on 04.07.08. THRILLING MARIA A.Udy Rule 64 Suffering from a shoulder injury and stood down for 7 days to and including 14.07.08.
Race 5	GEON WELLINGTON - C1 - 305	Start time 07-05. SOLITAIRE STAR ran out in the back straight and checked BIGTIME MATE who then moved back in and collided with LESS THAN IDEAL and all three dogs lost ground and finished in the last three places.
Race 6	KEENAN CONCRETE 6 PACK - C1d - 755	Start time: 07-22 HONEY BOUND was pressured from the outside in the run to the first corner and eventually made contact with the rail and lost ground. CHAMSIN CREEK was on a forward move near the last bend but clipped the heels of DEBBIE BLUEFIRE and fell. CHAMSIN CREEK was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury. BIGTIME PAUL Ex Wanganui on 04.07.08. IRRITABILITY B.Cole Rule 64 Suffering from gastritis and stood down for 4 days to and including 12.07.08. GUILTY VERDICT B.Cole Rule 64 Suffering from a webbing injury and stood down for 10 days to and including 14.07.08.
Race 7	WWW.WANGANUICARCENTRE.COM - C0d - 645	Start time: 07-46. POST HASTE ran out on the first turn and forced TIGER INDY WOODS wide over extra ground.
Race 8	WANGANUI FARM SUPPLIES - C1 - 520	Start time: 08-13. All clear. FIRM OFFER J.Jopson Rule 64 Suffering from a sprained calf and stood down for 14 days to and including 20.07.08.
Race 9	PETER SINCLAIR PHOTOGRAPHER - C0 - 305	Start time: 08-43. MANUKA QUEEN and WHERE'S MY PIANO were slow to begin and raced at the rear throughout and finished in the last two places.
Race 10	THE RADIO WORKS - C1 - 305	Start time: 09-10. LUCY'S MINT, BIGTIME BEAUTY, MANNIN THE WAKA and THOMAS THE TANK were all checked back to the rear on the first turn and they never recovered and finished in the last four places.
