Judicial report: Weather: Overcast BC DANN pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 68.2 when presenting two dogs late for kennelling. He was fined $50.00.
PJ NORRIS was fined $50.00 for breach of Rule 69.11 when IRONIC, a starter in Race 9 weighed in 1.2kgs above her last race start weight.
JM JOPSON was fined $50.00 for a breach of Rule 69.11 when DANCE FOR DANNY, a starter in Race 5 weighed in 1.2kgs above his last race start weight.

Race 1 | ADVANCE PERFORMANCE DASH - C2 - 295 | Into the bend the win favourite SAINT DANIEL angled across from the outside and was clipped from behind by KNOW CENTS. Both dogs were checked but SAINT DANIEL dropped out to finish eighth and was subject to a post race veterinary check which revealed a right triceps tear with a 21 day stand down reccommended. CLAN PHOENIX and LAGOON MONROE came together for a number of strides when racing at the rear around the bend. SAINT DANIEL (JT McInerney) right triceps tear. Rule 82.1. 21 days up to an including 23 June 2008. |
Race 2 | CHALLENGE OPAWA ALL-UP STAKES - C1 - 520 | MOUNT RILEY and MR JOLES were slow to jump. Into the bend TRENDY GUY, CLAN SAVIOUR and MR JOLES jostled. MACK'S BOUNTY (JT McInerney) diarrhoea. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 5 days up to and including 6 June 2008. |
Race 3 | THE INTERISLANDER SPRINT - C1 - 295 | HAILSTONE HIKRY slipped and almost fell out of the boxes, settled at the rear of the field and stayed there. A post race veterinary examination revealed nothing amiss. |
Race 4 | www.greyhoundtips.co.nz STAKES - C1 - 520 | Soon after the jump DEAR ABBEY and CLAN CRUSADER bumped. Into the bend SOICHIRO was badly checked when galloped on from behind by KIWI YOUNG. |
Race 5 | SUPER PETS DASH - C3 - 295 | Soon after the jump MOST ROYAL, HOMEBUSH MATE, HOMEBUSH CASTOR and BLACK INN BRAVE came together. Into the bend MOST ROYAL and HOMEBUSH CASTOR collided heavily with HOMEBUSH CASTOR after almost coming down dropping out to last. DANCE FOR DANNY and BLACK INN BRAVE were checked when racing behind this incident. HOMEBUSH CASTOR was subject to a post race veterinary examination which revealed no injury. |
Race 6 | INDEPENDENT CARPETS CRANFORD STAKES - C0 - 520 | Into the first bend EVER SO CLEVER ran out and forced ATSINA BRAVE onto the hindquarters of RAMA DING DONG. Both dogs fell and brought down the trailing KARAMEA LABRI. A post race veterinary examination of RAMA DING DONG revealed a damaged left shoulder with a 10 day stand down recommended. EVER SO CLEVER, ATSINA BRAVE and KARAMEA LABRI were examined by the vet but nothing was found to be amiss. RAMA DING DONG (M Robinson) left shoulder pain after fall, left hind laceration. Rule 82.1. 10 days up to and including 12 June 2008. |
Race 7 | DAVE ROBBIE PHOTOGRAPHER DASH - C1 - 295 | Into the bend FINE ARTS improved across the field and checked HOMEBUSH ERNIE who went back on COLERIDGE KID and CHILE DAN who dropped out to finish at the tail of the field. |
Race 8 | www.canterburyproperty.co.nz DASH - C4 - 295 | NURSE NANCY and LEUMEAH MISS came together racing to the bend. Into the straight when tiring LEUMEAH MISS was galloped on by FOUL PLAY and dropped out to finish last. |
Race 9 | WILSON'S SPORTS BAR DASH - C0 - 295 | ELY BRAND was slow to leave the boxes. Soon after the jump CLAN SLITHER, CAWBOURNE GEORGA and HISTORIUM came together with CAWBOURNE GEORGA badly checked. Into the home straight HISTORIUM eased when racing outside CHLOE BEAR and in the opinion of the stewards HISTORIUM was deemed to be unsatisfactory and required to undertake a satisfactory trial in accordance with Rule 81.1. HISTORIUM (RD Blackburn) performance deemed unsatisfactory, ordered to undertake a satisfactory trial Rule 81.1. |
Race 10 | SHIRLEY VETERINARY CENTRE STAKES - C3/4 - 520 | Into the first bend the leader YOUR TURN was crowded along the fence and checked back to midfield where she stayed. |
Race 11 | TUESDAY PLACE PICK - C1 - 295 | MCMANNUS was slow to jump. Across the top the favourite LEO'S BOY when midfield angled from the outside to the rail and in doing so forced MIGHTY POWER to check and change ground outward and never recovered to finish last. |
Race 12 | BARRON'S SUPPLIES STAKES - C1 - 520 | BYE BYE HELEN and WHATA HOON came together soon after the start losing ground. Into the first bend BOTANY JIM was held up when the field tightened. Racing down the back straight an improving BOTANY JIM was held up for a stride or two when racing inside the tiring ONE SICK CHICK. |
Race 13 | KOLORFUL KANVAS MAIDEN FINAL - C0f - 520 | Soon after the jump TIGER BALM ran in and collided with GUNNA SMOKE and TORY CHANNEL. |
Race 14 | POWER FARMING LTD SPRINT - C2 - 295 | JANDERRA APACHE was slow to leave the boxes. Into the bend OLD DAN'S MATE was galloped on by BOUNCEN BLITZEM. Both dogs checked back and collided with KNOW TITLE and CLAN MISTY who lost all chance. |
Race 15 | PICK 6 LEG 1 - C5 - 520 | Into the first bend ASAFA BALE ran out and collided with LAGOON PHOENIX, SMASH PALACE and SHREK ROXON and forced COOL GROOVY to run very wide. Into the straight MICK BAXTER climbed on the back of the leader GENISTA BRAVE who went back sharply and was hit hard by the improving NITRO MARTA. GENISTA BRAVE underwent a veterinary examination which revealed no injury. |
Race 16 | FAREWELL ROBBIE DEAN'S DASH - C4 - 295 | KARL BAXTER was tightened into the first bend as was ROSE OF TARLEE. |
Race 17 | NEW ZEALAND BREEDERS SEMI FINAL - R/A - 520 | Round the first bend CHILE COMMAND moved out off CRAFTY FLYNN colliding with SMART SHARMILA. At the end of the back straight CRAFTY FLYNN, JIMMY BLACKSMITH and BIDI DAHL came together with a trailing CHILE COMMAND clipping heels and falling. He regained his feet and finished but subject to a veterinary check which revealed no injury. |
Race 18 | HARDING CUP HEAT 1 - C5q - 295 Heat 1 | SPARKLING WAVES and ANOTHER LAUREL were tightened into the bend losing ground. LAUGARNO DENNIS (MM Grant) gastric dilation. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 14 days up to and including 16 June 2008. |
Race 19 | HARDING CUP HEAT 2 - C5q - 295 Heat 1 | MICRO SISSY and STRATUS BEKELEE were tightened into the bend coming together for a few strides to finish at the rear. |
