Judicial report: Weather: Fine RP BREEN was fined $50.00 on each of two charges under Rule 69.11 when BREENYS GIRL (Race 3) and COREYS COMET (Race 6) weighed in 1.5kgs and 1.1kgs respectively under their last race start weights.
SR FAGAN was fined $50.00 for a breach of Rule 69.11 when COLDHARBOR weighed in 1.3kgs under his last race start weight.

Race 1 ADVANCE PERFORMANCE DASH - C4 - 295 When retrieved from his kennel in preparation for this race, NOT A WHATA was found to be sore in his left forearm, resulting in him being a late scratching on veterinary advice with a 5 day stand down recommended. Into the bend RIGHTLY ACCUSED moved away from the rail checking SAMUAL BAXTER, MR FUGLES and KNOW BETTER. They finished at the rear. GO STRAIT THREW (JT McInerney) right triceps injury. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 14 days up to and including 25 May 2008. NOT A WHATA (MJ Flipp) was a late scratching when found lame in the left forearm when retrieved from his kennel in preparation for the race. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 68.26. 5 days up to and including 17 May 2008.
Race 2 CHALLENGE OPAWA ALL UP STAKES - C0 - 520 Around the first bend RAZOR BLADE was turned sideways after colliding with TRUSTEE as he endeavoured to move down to the rail. RAZOR BLADE drifted through the field and turning for home came together with BETTY BEATZER when racing at the rear. RAZOR BLADE was subject to a post race veterinary check which revealed soreness on extension of the right shoulder with a 5 day stand down recommended. RAZOR BLADE (BC Dann) soreness to right shoulder. Rule 82.1. 5 days up to and including 17 May 2008.
Race 3 THE INTERISLANDER SPRINT - C1 - 295 GATLIN ANGEL ran out into the bend checking HOMEBUSH ERNIE, NICKER TIME, KNOW GO, ONE SICK CHICK and CAWBOURNE BURST on her outer. These dogs lost all chance. Into the straight HOMEBUSH ERNIE collided with KNOW GO who was forced into the path of CAWBOURNE BURST, falling as a result. He regained his feet to finish the race. A veterinary check revealed no injury.
Race 4 SHIRLEY VETERINARY CENTRE DASH - C1 - 295 CHILE DAN ran outwards into the bend forcing FINE ARTS wide resulting in checks to TRINITY THUNDA and KIWI YOUNG. They filled the last four placings.
Race 5 BARRON'S SUPPLIES STAKES - C0 - 520 ASTINA BRAVE was tightened between dogs soon after the jump settling last and never improving. Around the first bend TORY CHANNEL was tightened between dogs when vying for the lead. He finished well back. At the lure TORY CHANNEL and WILLY MINA fell and both were subject to a veterinary check and cleared of injury.
Race 6 WWW.CANTERBURYPROPERTY.CO.NZ DASH - C1 - 295 TURN THE CARD and COREYS COMET came together turning for home when racing at the rear.
Race 7 WILSONS SPORTS BAR DASH - C1 - 295 HERO HAND jumped awkwardly from the boxes and stumbled for a few strides, settling last. Into the bend HAILSTONE ANGEL, MISS WICKLOW and HOMEBUSH KING were checked. An improving HERO HAND hit HAILSTONE ANGEL being forced outwards into the path of HOMEBUSH KING, both being checked. They all finished at the rear.
Race 8 BILLS BAR & BISTRO SPRINT - C0 - 295 WORLD OF VENUS was very slow to jump settling last and never improving. HOMEBUSH ROYAL and TWICE AS HOT came together soon after the start losing ground to finish midfield.
Race 9 EXCELSIOR SPORTS BAR & TAB - C0 - 295 KARAMEA LABRI was very slow to jump settling a clear last before improving along the rail around the bend to finish on for second. Into the bend TOYA and WASABI GIRL came together with TOYA losing ground. Soon after TEDETTE ran outwards with BIG RED HENRY and GRANT A CHANCE running wide on the track. They finished at the rear.
Race 10 ANGLERS ARM TAVERN SEFTON - C4 - 520 The favourite GLEN ABBEY MOON was tightened into the first bend settling well back before finishing on late for 3rd. BAXTER'S GENERAL who raced in 3rd place drifted out over the concluding stages to finish second to last.
Race 11 TUESDAY PLACE PICK DASH - C5 - 295 The favourite PIZZA GIRL was tightened by STRATUS BEKELEE into the bend when near the lead drifting back and forcing ANOTHER LAUREL and HOMEBUSH DARCY wide on the track. PIZZA GIRL and MICRO SISSY came together with MICRO SISSY drifting out to finish near the rear.
Race 12 COASTER'S TAVERN SPRINT - C1 - 295 The favourite HE'S SO FINE was tightened between dogs into the bend, and was again checked when squeezed between DASH DOT DASH and CHILE TIME approaching the home straight. He finished near the rear.
Race 13 YALDHURST HOTEL STAKES - C5 - 520 All clear. LAGOON PHOENIX (JT McInerney) right hind gracilus bruising. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 5 days up to and including 16 May 2008. KOSTYA BALE (AC Roberts) deep puncture wounds and lacerations. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 14 days up to and including 25 May 2008.
Race 14 THE MILLER BAR & CAFE DASH - C2 - 295 Around the brend OLD MATE BOB was tightened when vying for the lead coming back on HOMEBUSH CASTOR WHO FORCED inball wizard outwards into the path of an improviung UPBEAT, who fell heavily as a result. He regained his feet to finish a distant last. A veterinary check revealed soreness to the back and tail area with a 14 day stand down recommended. UPBEAT (MJ Flipp) sore back and tailbone bruising. Rule 82.1. 14 days up to and including 26 May 2008.
Race 15 PICK 6 LEG 1 - C4/5 - 295 HOMEBUSH BUZZ and RUDI JEWEL came together into the bend losing ground to finish well back. CAWBOURNE MOLLY was subject to a veterinary examination which revealed a split left hind web with a 14 day stand down recommended. LEUMEAH MISS (JT McInerney) laceration to left carpal pad. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 18 May 2008. (papers to be endorsed) ANOTHER GALE (JT McInerney) left fore outside toe infected. Dog presented. Race 16 PUBLICANS CUP - HEAT 1 - C1q - 520 Heat 1 MOJAVE MICK jumped awkwardly from the boxes losing four lengths. He never recovered finishing last.
Race 17 PUBLICANS CUP - HEAT 2 - C1q - 520 Heat 1 Into the back straight WOOD PIGEON and WILLY FLIRT came togther when racing at the rear. Across the top DEAR ABBEY and WILLY FLIRT collided losing ground to fill the last two placings. FIRM OFFER (JM Jopson) right hip strain. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 21 May 2008.
Race 18 PUBLICANS CUP - HEAT 3 - C1q - 520 Heat 1 MR BONZALES lost all chance at the start when very slow to jump. Into the back straight JALISCO was checked when leading as a result of the favourite WITH A RHYTHYM improving on her inner. JALISCO drifted out to finish midfield.
Race 19 HAMPDEN TAVERN DASH - C3 - 295 BOY GENIUS was tightened by dogs on his outer when vying for the lead coming back on MOST ROYAL and ETOILE NOIR, these two losing ground to finish well back. Into the home straight BOY GENIUS and CHILLI MITCH came together. BOY GENIUS finished third.
Race 20 SPEIGHTS SIX PACK - C3 - 520 LAGOON LAD and SMART THOMAS were checked soon after the jump settling at the rear and never improving. BETTYSUE BALE (AC Roberts) late scratching at Christchurch on 9 May 2008. Rule 68.26. 14 days up to and including 22 May 2008.
