D J Parata was fined $50.00 under rule 69.11. for presenting FIVE ACROSS 1.1 kgs up in race 9 on todays card.

Race 1 OPAWA RACING LIMITED - C3 - 305 WACK (fav) Tried to cross to the rail as the field raced in to the first turn and seemed to bump the rail and dropped back to finish in last position A veterinary examination was carried out and was found to have injuries requiring a 42 days stand down. Race 2 VALLEY PARKING SERVICES - C4 - 305 Racing in to the first GENISTA SPIRIT (fav) could not get to the rail as ROYAL FERN was keeping him out ,then they came together resulting in GENISTA SPIRIT checking back causing PATTYS ANSWER to check and run out wide taking CRYSTAL WENDY wider around the top bend. GONE WILD was a scratching ex Manawatu.----------. GONE WILD ex Manawatu 8.05.08.
Race 3 EMPIRE HOTEL - PALMERSTON NORTH - C2 - 520 At the start KNOW TITLE and WORK RELEASE (fav) came together jostling for some distance down in to the first turn ,WORK RELEASE then checked back off the heels of KNOW TITLE and lost more ground and could not recover to get back in to contention and finished at the rear. KNOW TITLE ran wide on the top bend and in to the home straight finishing at the rear. BLASTING POINT was a scratching ex Manawatu.----------. BLASTING POINT ex Manawatu 8.05.08.
Race 4 BRANDON ST. TAB - WGTON NZ FUTURITY - R/Aq - 520 Heat 1 Racing in to the first turn there was tightning from both inside and outside dogs resulting in TURBINE BALE(fav) having to check back , but was able to get a run close to the rail and ran on for a gutsy win. As the field entered the first bend WINSOME DOSH had clear racing room on the inside and was making ground as CADBURY HAND was trying to get over to the rail,WINSOME DOSH was trying to get out wide and they came together for a few strides ,with WINSOME DOSH being seen to mar CADBURY HAND at that point both dogs going out wider as WINSOME DOSH tried to push further out, THANK YOU JIM and YOUR MY LADY were forced wider to avoid these dogs and their chances were extinguished from there on in. WINSOME DOSH was sent for a veterinary examination and at first the vet gave her a 7 days stand down with chest muscle pain, a 28 days stand down under rule 80.1.b. was given for failing to pursue the lure. The trainer requested a further examination later in the day due to his concerns for the dog and the veterinary surgeon found that after the dog had been cooled down for some time the effects of the injuries were more severe and a 21 days stand down was given under rule 82.1. also must perform a satisfactory trial under rule 80.5 before racing again. The stand down under rule 80.1.b. was therefore recinded . WINSOME DOSH J & D Fahey severe pain in superficial and deep pectoral muscles rule 82.1. 21 days stand down to and including 1.06.08.also to perform a satisfactory trial under rule 80.5.--------.
Race 5 BRANDON ST. TAB - WGTON NZ FUTURITY - R/Aq - 520 Heat 1 Soon after the start CYBER BLUE came across on to WINSOME ASHLEY causing her to lose several lengths at that point but was able to recover to win well. Racing in to the first turn GROOVY CARLA raced in to a gap between PREMIERE STAR and SALLY BAXTER causing SALLY BAXTER to race wide around the top bend.----------.
Race 6 BRANDON ST. TAB - WGTON NZ FUTURITY - R/Aq - 520 Heat 1 At the start AUSSIE OPAWA (fav)stumbled slightly leaving the boxes , then FANCY EEL came scross on to him causing him to get back in the field in the early running , he ran on well for 4th placing at the line. CRAFTY FLYNN was a scratching due to lameness in a hind leg. SIMPLY BLESSED was a late scratching at kenneling on veterinary advice with joint and toe injuries. requiring a 14 day stand down.----------. CRAFTY FLYNN G A Cleeve swelling on left hind below the hock dog presented rule 64.12. 14 days stand down to and including 24.05.08. SIMPLY BLESSED D D Schofield painful joint and third toe on right front, late scratching rule 68.26. 14 days stand down to and including 25.05.08.
Race 7 BRANDON ST. TAB - WGTON NZ FUTURITY - R/Aq - 520 Heat 1 Racing in to the first turn MCCRAKEN and AUSTIN came together as both dogs were racing for position near the lead resulting in AUSTIN going back on to COSMIC ZEUS and GENISTA FLYER causing them to be checked back and racing wide around the top bend.----------.
Race 8 BLACK ALLEGRO MEMORIAL - C5q - 305 Heat 1 BATCHELOR slipped his collar and lead prior to this race and got out on to the track , but was caught at the lure, he was returned to the stirrup area where he underwent a veterinary inspection and was passed fit to start. The race was put back one minute at the stewards request to enable to dog to make his way to the start. Soon after the start there was tightning and jostling in the mid field caused by BATCHELOR keeping a straight line and FORCE OF REVENGE coming across to the rail. THRILLING GAME and THRILLING JASPER were the worst two affeccted being checked back to the rear
Race 9 CESARINA SCOTT-MARSON MEMORIAL - C5q - 305 Heat 1 Soon after the start BIGTIME ROYALE came across on to BIGTIME RETRO for a couple of strides This race was delayed for two minutes at the request of the T A B due to other racing commitments. LEUMEAH MISS was a scratching due to a carpal injury veterinary certificate to be supplied papers to be endorsed.. D J Parata was fined under rule 69.11. for presenting FIVE ACROSS 1.1kgs up from his last race start on 6.05.08. LEUMEAH MISS J T McInerney laceration to left carpal rule 64.12. 7 days stand down to and including 18.05.08.
Race 10 EXCHANGE HOTEL - LOWER HUTT - C4 - 520 Soon after the start BAXTERS GENERAL and BIGTIME ASSASSIN came together for a few strides as BAXTERS GENERAL tried to cross that dog before he was clear. WHISKEY BOY was a scratching ex Addington 9.05.09 WHISKY BOY J T McInerney ex Addington 9.05.08.
