Judicial report: Weather: Overcast Trainer GR McCORMACK was fined $50.00 for a breach of Rule 69.11 when PANGO WILL HE, a starter in Race 10, weighed in 1.4kgs above his last race start weight.
Handler M Roberts was warned under Rule 88.1.o as a result of BRANDYLICIOUS escaping from his care during the stir up process. BRANDYLICIOUS was a late scratching.

Race 1 ADVANCE PERFORMANCE SPRINT - C3/4 - 295 CHILE WILL HE was slow to leave the boxes and into the first bend checked off heels and ran wide finishing last.
Race 2 CHALLENGE OPAWA ALL UP STAKES - C1 - 520 WHATA HOON and WHO'S SHIFTY came together soon after the start. Into the first bend DIAMOND ELITE, racing on the rail was tightened and climbed on WHO'S SHIFTY and fell. The trailing WHATA HOON hurdled the fallen dog. DIAMOND ELITE was examined by the vet and cleared of injury. MIRKOLA BALE (AC Roberts) was a late scratching just prior to race start time when escaping from her handler. Rule 68.26. 2 days up to and including 23 April 2008.
Race 3 THE INTERISLANDER DASH - C1 - 295 Soon after the start FINE ARTS and HISTORICAL came together and checked BYE BYE HELEN who lost ground. Into the bend HISTORICAL galloped on HAILSTONE ANGEL who checked out and collided with BY GORRIE DORRIE who suffered and check. BYE BYE HELEN caught the backwash and was forced wide on the track.
Race 4 SUPER PETS SPRINT - C2 - 295 Soon after the jump KNOW TITLE and BOY GENIUS came together with GROOVY SHOW racing between them was checked and lost ground. Into the home straight BRANDYLICIOUS when vying for the lead failed to pursue the lure with due commitment losing ground, finishing second. BRANDYLICIOUS was subject to a post race veterinary check but nothing was found to be amiss. BRANDYLICIOUS was stood down for a period of 28 days under Rule 80.1.b. BRANDYLICIOUS (AC Roberts) Rule 80.1.b. 28 days up to and including 18 May 2008 and to undertake a satisfactory trial.
Race 5 CAROL'S TAB STAKES - C1 - 520 Soon after the jump THIS AND THAT, JALISCO, DEAR ABBEY, WITH A RHYTHM and HANSOME HARRY came together as the field tightened. Into the bend WITH A RHYTHM galloped on THIS AND THAT who lost ground before recovering to finish fourth.
Race 6 DAVE ROBBIE PHOTOGRAPHER DASH - C1 - 295 Soon after the jump HOMEBUSH HOUDINI ran in and collided with CHILE MAID. HOMEBUSH HOUDINI continued to move across toward the rail resulting in MISS WICKLOW, KIWI YOUNG, HERO HAND and CAWBOURNE BURST being badly squeezed, losing ground.
Race 7 SHIRLEY VETERINARY CENTRE STAKES - C1 - 520 Into the first bend BE POSITIVE was struck from behind by CLAN DESPERADO and was knocked sideways into the path of LAGOON MONROE, both dogs suffering checks.
Race 8 DANNY MILLWARD PLASTERING DASH - C1 - 295 Soon after the jump HISTORY NEVER and VINTAGE TOKEN came together. Into the bend HISTORY NEVER checked out off the heels of OLD MATE BOB and took VINTAGE TOKEN wide on the track. The favourite OLD MATE BOB drifted at the start but when improving wide around the field collided with MCMANUS and lost ground finishing 6th. VINTAGE TOKEN (CJ Weir) lacerated nose. Rule 82.1. 7 days up to and including 28 April 2008.
Race 9 POWER FARMING LTD SPRINT - C0 - 295 HOMEBUSH AGRO and GRANT A CHANCE were slow away. Into the bend RAZOR BLADE checked off the heels of HUGO FIRST and lost ground before recovering to be fourth.
Race 10 DAVID EMERSON CONSULTANCY DASH - C0 - 295 The favourite KNOW FLIRT was very slow to leave the boxes, settling a clear last before railing through for fourth. PANGO WILL HE was slow to jump and made some ground in the run home. Into the bend HOMEBUSH EARL eased off the heels of CLAN SLITHER and as a result TOYA was pushed wide on the track.
Race 11 TUESDAY PLACE PICK - C1 - 295 Into the first bend SAINT DANIEL was forced against the rail and LOCHINVAR VOLCOM was tightened and went down on its nose. SAINT DANIEL and LOCHINVAR VOLCOM were subject to vet checks. Nothing amiss was found with LOCHINVAR VOLCOM however SAINT DANIEL was found with a right shoulder triceps tear with a 14 day stand down recommended.------ SAINT DANIEL (J McInerney Jnr) right shoulder triceps tear. Rule 82.1. 14 days up to and including 4 May 2008.
Race 12 CANTERBURY DRAUGHT MAIDEN - HEAT 1 - C0q - 520 Heat 1 Around the first bend TRUSTEE climbed on the leader HAILSTONE HIKRY'S hindquarters causing both to be checked, they came back on the remainder of the field with the exception of the favourite DIAMOND MILL who skirted wide around the incident to clear out and win by a long distance. MAJESTIC BILL was observed to drift across the top and run erratically into the straight and it was deemed to be an unsatisfactory performance under Rule 81.1 with a satisfactory trial ordered. Race 13 WILSON'S SPORTS BAR DASH - C3 - 295 UPBEAT missed the jump by three lengths before running on along the rail for fifth.
Race 14 CANTERBURY DRAUGHT MAIDEN - HEAT 2 - C0q - 520 Heat 1 Into the first bend MUNGO ran wide, checked off the heels of HOMEBUSH LOYAL and collided with TIPITS TO SMART who fell and brought down BIG RED HENRY with MAJOR BLUE also badly checked. TIPITS TO SMART was subject to a post race vet examination which revealed left shoulder soreness with a seven day stand down recommended.. BIG RED HENRY also underwent a post race vet examination which showed soreness over thoracic spinal muscles, 14 day stand down recommended. HOMEBUSH SHAINA (JT McInerney) reported diarrhoea and weight loss. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 5 days up to and including 26 April 2008. TIPITS TO SMART (RD Blackburn) left shoulder soreness. Rule 82.1. 7 days up to an including 28 April 2008. BIG RED HENRY (JM Jopson) sore over thoracic spinal muscles . Race 15 PICK 6 LEG 1 - C3/4 - 295 Into the bend HOMEBUSH DARCY checked off the heels of NOT A WHATA and went back causing DANCE FOR DANNY and HEZA LIL to take evasive action. WALLY RELTUB (Hart/Taylor) deceased. RICK BAXTER (JT Mc Inerney) stood down at Christchurch GRC on 17 March 2008. Rule 82.1. 28 days up to and including 13 May 2008. FOUL PLAY (GA Cleeve) left hind sesamoid joint sprain. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 27 April 2008. Race 16 GARRARD'S HORSE AND HOUND STAKES - C2/3 - 520 Into the first bend PAUL BAXTER, racing between KERNAHAN and SMART THOMAS was checked and went back to last. Soon after PAUL BAXTER checked off the heels of ARTERIAL BALE and HOMEBUSH BRADLEY and lost further ground.
Race 17 www.canterburyproperty.co.nz DASH - C3 - 295 Into the bend OPAWA VANE checked off ETOILE NOIR checking ALECIA RELTUB. Soon after MR PROVOCATIVE checked off ETOILE NOIR forcing ADIO ROUTINE wide. MR PROVOCATIVE was subject to a vet check with nothing amiss detected. HIGHWAY BAXTER (JT McInerney) left hind medial sesamois pain. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 31 April 2008.
Race 18 COASTER'S TAVERN STAKES - C4 - 520 All clear. STARLIGHT JEWEL (AC Roberts) saddle muscle injury. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 27 April 2008.
Race 19 GARDEN CITY CHEM DRY DASH - C5 - 295 Into the bend DUWANNA HAND and MISSING BEEN came together. Soon after RUDI JEWEL moved outwards hampering DUWANNA HAND and VULCAN EARL and forcing MISSING BEEN wide.
Race 20 SPEIGHTS SIX PACK - C2 - 520 BETTYSUE BALE was tightened into the first bend forcing MACK'S COUNTY wide and checking SCRAP METALMAN. Soon after TRENDY OPAWA was hit by SCRAP METALMAN. TRENDY OPAWA was found to be bleeding with a calf muscle injury after the event and at vet examination a 14 day stabnd down was recommended. TRENDY OPAWA (MJ Flipp) calf muscle injury.
