Judicial report: Weather: Fine Trainer J McInerney jnr was reminded of the dress code when catching a dog.
Further to the enquiry opened on 21 March in regards to the use of a cellphone in the kennel block after the races it was decided that no further action was necessary.

Race 1 GREYHOUNDS NORTH MAIDEN DISTANCE - HEAT 1 - C0dq - 630 Heat 1 RACCY SKIP lost ground into the first bend and remained well back throughout.
Race 2 GREYHOUNDS NORTH MAIDEN DISTANCE - HEAT 2 - C0dq - 630 Heat 1 BIG TEASE tailed the field throughout finishing last.
Race 3 NZ DERBY - HEAT 1 - R/Aq - 457 Heat 1 MOONSHINE JUG was tightened into the bend and lost ground checking WATCH THAT WHALE as he tried to recover. MOONSHINE JUG ran on late for sixth.
Race 4 NZ DERBY - HEAT 2 - R/Aq - 457 Heat 1 HIGHWAY BAXTER was checked by YOUNG DADDY into the bend and appeared to brush the rail. HIGHWAY BAXTER dropped away to finish last with a post race veterinary check revealing a sprained metarso digit with a seven day stand down recommended. HIGHWAY BAXTER (JT McInerney) mild sprain of metarso digit joint. Rule 82.1. 7 days up to and including 9 April 2008.
Race 5 T MCDONALD CUP - HEAT 1 - C2dq - 747 Heat 1 ROMAN LEADER was checked into the first bend and dropped out to last. He made up a huge amount of ground for third.
Race 6 NZ DERBY - HEAT 3 - R/Aq - 457 Heat 1 SMOOTH STRIDER was slow and then hit the running rail when negotiating the bend. He finished a long last with a post race veterinary check revealing no injury. On the home bend GENISTA BRAVE checked outwards off FLYING SQUADRON and pushed FANCY EEL wider on the track. GENISTA BRAVE was observed to be bleeding on return to the kennels with a post race veterinary check revealing a cut toe requiring sutures with a five day stand down recommended. GENISTA BRAVE (JE Dunn) cut toe requiring sutures. Rule 82.1. 5 days up to and including 7 April 2008.
Race 7 T MCDONALD CUP - HEAT 2 - C2dq - 747 Heat 1 TIZZY LEE BUCKET was slow to jump and settled last. She passed one in the run home. ANCIENT RHYTHM was tightened in the early rush and lost ground settling well back. Following the race GROOVY SHOT was observed to have cramped badly and a three day stand down was recommended. GROOVY SHOT (SP Maher) badly cramped after race. Rule 82.1. 3 days up to and including 5 April 2008.
Race 8 NZ DERBY - HEAT 4 - R/Aq - 457 Heat 1 COSMIC ZEUS appeared to hit the running rail when well back into the bend with a post race veterinary check revealing a swollen left elbow with a seven day stand down recommended. CAWBOURNE RAY ran inwards soon after the jump tightening SMASH PALACE, LAURETANA BOY, WINSOME JUNIOR and CHILE COMMAND with these dogs all losing some ground. COSMIC ZEUS (JT McInerney) swollen left elbow after hitting rail. Rule 82.1. 5 days up to and including 7 April 2008.
Race 9 NZ DERBY - HEAT 5 - R/Aq - 457 Heat 1 NASSIRAY JEWEL was badly tightened soon after the jump losing its chance. Into the bend CAWBOURNE WELLSY hit the rail when looking to improve on the inside of kennelmate PREMIERE STAR and dropped back sharply checking BERT BADGER who lost his chance and finished last. A post race veterinary check of CAWBOURNE WELLSY revealed no injury.
Race 10 DUAL CODE HERE NEXT THURSDAY NITE - C4/5 - 457 GRINGO was checked as kennelmate EDDY'S GOAL crossed it into the bend and lost ground finishing well back.
