Judicial report: Weather: Fine Trainers A Hart and K Taylor were charged with breaches of Rules 59.1 and 88.1 in respect of the imported greyhounds WALLY RELTUB and GORDY RELTUB. They pleaded guilty to the charges and were fined $75.00 on each charge.
These charges resulted from both dogs racing again in Western Australia before importation into New Zealand and the official race form provided by the defendants to GRNZ failed to disclose their last race starts at Mandurah (Western Australia) on 15 February 2008. It was noted that the official form supplied by them to GRNZ was from Greyhound Racing Victoria's website.

Race 1 ADVANCE PERFORMANCE SPRINT - C3 - 295 OLD DANS MATE jumped inwards and bumped ADIO ROUTINE. Into the bend UPBEAT, HOMEBUSH ALI and ADIO ROUTINE came together and lost ground. LEA BAXTER (JT McInerney) bruised left thigh. Rule 82.1. 7 days up to and including 7 March 2008.
Race 2 CHALLENGE OPAWA ALL UP DASH - C1 - 295 Into the first bend with general tightening on the speed CHARLIE STUBBS climbed on ELLE VOLI with both dogs badly checked losing all chance and filling the last two placings. CHARLIE STUBBS was subject to a post race veterinary examination but nothing was found to be amiss. Into the home straight CAWBOURNE SAM was tightened and checked out off the heels of the improving SMALL HAND losing ground.
Race 3 THE INTERISLANDER STAKES - C1 - 520 Into the first bend THIS AND THAT checked off the heels of DASH DOT DASH and lost momentum briefly. Into the home straight DASH DOT DASH ran wide failing to pursue the lure and checking KNOW GLORY who recovered well to win. DASH DOT DASH was subject to a post race veterinary check which revealed nothing amiss. As a result she was stood down for a period of 28 days and ordered to undertake a satisfactory trial. WILL SHE ECHO (J&D Fahey) left fibula sprain. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 12 days up to and including 11 April 2008. DASH DOT DASH (LJ Waretini) Rule 80.1.b. Stood down for 28 days and ordered to undertake a satisfactory trial in accordance with Rule 80.10.
Race 4 DAVID EMERSON CONSULTANCY SPRINT - C1/2 - 295 Into the bend SWIFT TOKEN was squeezed for room and lost ground. Soon after KIWI YOUNG checked off the heels of the improving KNOW WHAT before recovering to run home for third. FORTYTHREE BELOW(JT McInerney) mild left hock sprain. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 10 April 2008.
Race 5 DAVE ROBBIE PHOTOGRAPHER DASH - C1 - 295 Into the bend HISTORY NEVER ran out and pushed CHILE DAN onto HANSOME HARRY both dogs suffering checks. Across the top as BOY GENUIS went to the lead HE'S SO FINE was squeezed coming out on BOTOX BARBIE and went back onto HISTORY NEVER with CHILE DAN catching some of the backwash.
Race 6 SHIRLEY TAB SPRINT - C4 - 295 WHISKY LEE GIRL was squeezed soon after the jump and never recovered.
Race 7 www.christchurchgreyhounds.co.nz STAKES - C4 - 520 Into the first bend WHISKY BOY checked out off the heels of MICK BAXTER and collided with LAGOON LAD both dogs settling at the rear, filling the last two positions.
Race 8 DENTRESE KENNELS PH 03-312-5746 DASH - C1 - 295 Into the first bend BREENYS GIRL checked out off BONDI BRINDI and lost all chance.
Race 9 SUPER PETS DASH - C5 - 295 Soon after the jump PRAISE BE ran out and contacted ANGELITO and as a result the trailing MR OPAWA was badly checked and fell. MR OPAWA was subjected to a post race veterinary check which revealed a tear to his right hip support with a 21 day stand down recommended. Into the bend KNOW BETTER checked off the heels of STRATUS BEKELEE losing valuable ground and finished seventh. CAWBOURNE MOLLY (MJ Flipp) right shoulder triceps pain. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 9 April 2008. MR OPAWA (R Adcock) tear to right hip support. Rule 82.1. 21 days up to and including 21 April 2008.
Race 10 INDEPENDENT CARPETS CRANFORD SPRINT - C1 - 295 Into the bend the win favourite ROBTITLE and BY GORRIE DORRIE tangled for a number of strides with BY GORRIE DORRIE dropping to the rear and losing all chance.
Race 11 TUESDAY PLACE PICK DASH - C0 - 295 Into the bend the favourite HISTORICAL was squeezed when racing between HOMEBUSH ERNIE and HAILSTONE HIKRY and was held up when trying to improve. Once clear she ran home solidly for second. In the same incident the trailing HOMEBUSH LOYAL was blocked and forced to check wide on the track, making ground late for third.
Race 12 SHIRLEY VETERINARY CENTRE STAKES - C0 - 520 Into the first bend RAVAILLAC and HATIPOV tangled. RAVAILLAC continued his outward movement and climbed on the back of the improving GUNNA SMOKE and fell. As a result the trailing dogs ANYTIME SOON, HATIPOV and AWESOME FLASH were checked and raced wide on the track losing ground. A veterinary check of RAVAILLAC revealed no injury.
Race 13 POWER FARMING LTD SPRINT - C0 - 295 Soon after the start HISTORIUM collided heavily with the running rail, completed the race at the lure it was found the have sustained a severe injury to a left hind leg. A subsequent vet examination confirmed that injury and was subject to a 28 day stand down. HISTORIUM (RD Blackburn) deep laceration to left hind leg. Rule 82.1. 28 days up to and including 28 April 2008.
Race 14 FLAIR DASH - C1/2 - 295 Into the first bend NITRO JAKE and TO CASUAL worked clear of the field after general tightening affected all other runners. At the rear of the field PINBALL WIZARD cannoned off SMART WAY and hit the running rail but a post race veterinary inspection revealed there was no injury.
Race 15 PICK SIX LEG ONE - C5 - 295 Into the bend KARL BAXTER and KNOW SAY were tightened with KARL BAXTER suffering a bad check and coming back on NOT A WHATA and forcing ANOTHER LAUREL wide on the track. KNOW SAY settled second but drifted out in the run home to finish fifth.
Race 16 www.canterburyproperty.co.nz STAKES - C1 - 520 COCKNY CODE was slow to leave the boxes and drifted out to a long last before making some ground late. WOOD PIGEON was also slow away. Into the first bend GEMMA'S COUNTRY checked out off the improving MACK'S BOUNTY and pushed WOOD PIGEON wide on the track with some loss of ground.
Race 17 NUTRI-ZING DISTANCE FEATURE - C1d - 732 WINSOME GRACE was slow to leave the boxes. Into the first bend SATAN'S PLOT and FREDDIE SAGE came together briefly. DANCE JUDGE (JM Jopson) cut to left hind infected. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 6 April 2008.
Race 18 SCHULTZ PANEL & PAINT STAKES - C4/5 - 520 Around the bend into the back straight WINSOME BLITZ improved through on the inside of SALLY BAXTER and ANOTHER LLOYD with both dogs sustaining severe checks. ANOTHER LAUREL dropped out to finish last and was subject to a post race veterinary check which revealed nothing amiss. KOSTYA BALE (AC Roberts) late scratching at Christchurch GRC on 27 March 2008. Rule 68.26. 21 days up to and including 16 April 2008. IN TOM'S MEMORY (JT McInerney) myositis along back. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 14 days up to and including 14 March 2008. GROOVY AGAIN (AC Roberts) right wrist sprain. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 9 April 2008.
Race 19 ROBBIE'S BAR & BISTRO DASH - C4 - 295 Into the first bend KNOW FAITH, VULCAN EARL, ROSE OF TARLEE, MADAME JO JO, RICK BAXTER and BEAU were all subject to general tightening from the inside and outside extinguishing their winning opportunities as MICRO SISSY and HOMEBUSH DARCY cleared away out in front.
Race 20 SPEIGHTS SIX PACK - C2/3 - 520 Into the first bend ARTERIAL BALE moved off the rail and into the path of SHREK ROXON, PAYTON BALE, PAUL BAXTER and FIRM OFFER who were checked and lost all chance. SMART THOMAS (LJ Waretini) infected right fore toe. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 6 April 2008.
